I remember the first time i heard in flames was when i was scanning albums to preview at F.Y.E and happened to scan reroute to remain. It blew my mind and have been a fan ever since
Saw them for the first time in 2003 at Toads Place in New Haven CT with Soilwork, Chimaira, and Unearth...it was one of the best shows I ever saw. In Flames and Soilwork were just fantastic! There was a barrier in the middle of the floor that separated the under 21 and over 21 crowd, I was 33 at the time and it was pretty empty on my side compared to the other side. It was just a lot of fun and a lot of beers!
Seen this band 3 times. Once in 99 to see them and Moonspell, in Detroit. Once in 09 on the Mega-Dave tour with CoB, and others. (fun fact.. that show cost me my then gf cause she hated IF and CoB... so I told her I hated her an left her at her mom's an went.... it was her bday) An then again with Demon Hunter, ASP, and Battlecross. All 3 shows did not disappoint. Though they didn't play a couple of songs I wanted to.. Looking forward to these guys on tour again.
Yet the swedes have bashed them Daniel Ekeroth in his book "Swedish Death Metal" accused them of "Aping at the gates". Personally I love in flames, I got into them due to an American band Darkest hour.
The jester race is still by far one of my favorite albums.
Stone cold classic
Jester Race-Clayman are their God era.
Carcass, inflames, and at the gates influenced the Entire Massachusetts scene
In Flames We Trust. 🤘

Seems like a good pair since KSE is heavily influenced by old school Inflames

One of the OGs, and one of the absolute best to ever do it. Ever.

Will see them for the first time in Gothenburg in November this year, together with Soilwork and Arch Enemy.
Anders is too good for this podcast.
Anders is so cool. Great job on leading the way.

Everyone forgets about Dark Tranquillity, means no disrespect to IF, but they should have more recognition
Anders seems like a boringly humble guy (which is meant as a compliment).
Swedish peoples i believe they do not like bragging about themselves. Is that true?
Mostly, depends on who you ask :P
