THANK YOU! This is a lifesaver. Fried my clutch after only 20k miles. I put 37 inch tires on a Badlands. I barely started wheeling it when it failed on the Tom Boy trail out of Telluride, CO. This is a great trail but NOT a tough one on the clutch at all. Luckily had enough left to get to the shop. Ordered South Bend. Getting it back tomorrow. If you upgrade your wheel size you are going to need this clutch sooner than later. With install cost my 6k! I was on a road trip from California so I had to just grin and take it. Brutal.
I have 40s on dana 60 F250 W/ 4:30/1 and went through clutches on 6 speed automatic in 60K miles. Clogged the filter. Need to upgrade to diesel clutches and 4"88. I know it's an automatic, but still....Did I mention tranny weighs about 350 lbs? Yikes
Im on my second clutch for the Bronco. First one failed at 4000 miles. Had tech install OEM clutch kit, flywheel etc. Second clutch now failing and slipping at 7k miles (only 3k miles on the OEM replacement clutch). Bronco was being driven on the sand at a beach area here in Galveston when the first one failed. Hasnt seen sand since and now the second one, after paved road driving is burnt up too. No large tires on it. Nothing like that at all. I wonder what happened to Built Ford Tough?
I'm going to tell you that you don't have low enough gearing for what you are doing. I'm telling you straight up that with crawl boxes or low gear transfer case the clutch would be basically unaffected by tire size or terrain. My wrangler with a crawl box had over 150,000 miles on the clutch with 37's or 40's. You need lower gearing, or that South Bend Clutch will go up in smoke just the same.

This is a 2.3 liter manual transmission. This has our “diesel clutch” co developed with south bend clutch. And we have 5:38 gears
@@BroncBustertx I meant I need to upgrade to diesel clutches. I was referring to my truck. But thanks!
Great video. Good info as always... I really like the intro! Keep rocking those!

Let’s get you a better built clutch. You will absolutely love it.
@@BroncBustertx yes sir I dont doubt it. If I wanted to take it rock crawling at some point in the future, which clutch would you recommend?
Personally, I really like the stage three. It is a little more aggressive feeling so it comes down to what kind of feel you like.
@@BroncBustertx I like the feel of not breaking.... 😆
@@travisfoote1905 😂😂 I agree with you!
