Major points:
modular, removable design still lets you use the gear tunnel as storage when not needing a kitchen.
full sink, electric stove, 30-piece camp dinnerware service including coffee grinder and titanium(?!) plates.
gear shuttle has 110v and 12v outlets and USB C
additional modules for gear tunnel/shuttle coming later
based on Rachel’s interactions it looks easy to use and maintain

believe me, no one wants an EV, when it comes to things like camping. I wish they made the same car with a combustion engine/diesel
It had to be EV, need a lot of power for those induction stoves
Now that was quick simple thoughtful and easy to use, credit to the designer and engineers for making such a streamline product, and truck with so many uses that can be added later on.
except it blocks the door.... sigh.

Is the door hinge going to fall and open by itself while driving?

So the two pieces can come out but not the third piece, correct? Just thinking that you like couldn’t get skis or a snowboard in the tunnel. But then again you could just put them in the bed!

Hi RJ, I love the Rivian truck especially the camp kitchen. I’m a retired cook from the Army and the Rivian truck with the camp kitchen has so many applications for the Army. Any active duty Generals reading this get the Rivian with the camp kitchen for your stand alone units.

Welp.....I'm sold. I was torn with between the Fisker Ocean and The Ford F150 Lighting, but it's the Rivian... That kitchen setup is fabulous!!

Apparently September 2021 deliveries for reserved vehicles will begin, but I'd put money on there being more delays.

How impossible is it to clean that sink?
I love how excited she is to share her engineering creation. If the people at gm, ford, Honda we’re doing this, it would be made of plastic. But they are not even doing that. They might be giving you a plastic laptop spot in the new f-150. The engineering of that flat plastic laptop spot is.... well... plastic ford engineering...

Honestly though, I'd rather the sink in the frunk and fridge in the slide out. That way the water system could be adapted for a shower, etc. But, that's me. Everyone has their preference, I'm sure.
I think it's so wonderful that these auto manufacturers are finally making stuff that rich people can enjoy. It's about time
Why not? It makes sense to market to people to can pay for what your'e selling. And, the tech will work its way down.
The real issue here is the federal subsidies toward buying these. Why should taxpayers subsidize expensive new vehicles? If they have to subsidize anything (and I think the free market can address this just fine, actually), why not subsidize the charging infrastructure or more research on battery tech?

When I saw this truck they taught of my idea put a kitchen inside or battery bank for the back of the truck for camping
A storage slot for the sink lid would be a good idea of flip it over towards user and hang. I hope the stove latch is heavily rated for weight.

2020: The Rivian R1T includes everything but the kitchen sink.
2021: We added a kitchen sink.

How about making the front trunk into an insulated cooler or even a battery-powered refrigerator? It could have a drain plug so you can spray it out after a camping or fishing trip. They're clearly marketing this towards the outdoorsy customer. I think this idea would be brilliant.
where does the water go? one reservoir to another? is it pumped back up? with various debris.
I wasn't going to like it until she took them off the truck. It's stow-able! I like it now.

Where did the water come from for the sink? Is there a tank integrated into that module that needs filled before a trip? How does that water stay clean?
There's a 5 gallon stainless steel tank at the end of the sliding drawer.

I kinda wish there was a small passage from the bed into the gear tunnel now. The gear tunnel would be a perfect way to store drinking and waste water if someone wanted to create an integrated truck camper.

Pretty upsetting to see all of these comments of people trolling or complaining. This video was just an excited engineer showing what she contributed to the automarket and rivian. If you want to do something different, go get a 4 year degree in engineering and start a car company to see how that goes. I'm sure Rivian is trying to make sure everything is worked out before they release something to the market. Better to build something right than release something half-assed. Start-Up companies help change the auto segment because they are usually fresh ideas like this one.

I must be watt challenged today. All the 2-pan induction units I've looked at everywhere use 1800 watts. The Rivian can supply only 1500 watts at the 120v outlets. I wonder how that works?
Was the cooktop induction heat?
The top part should be solar power collector/panel. The underneath of back seat could be battery.
