    Lost coast plant therapy is my go to. Before, I used to use Athena IPM just for maintenance. But when my a.c kicked the bucket, my environment changed and caused pm. Athena IPM had a hard time fighting it back.BUT when I discovered LCPT, within 2nd spray I didn't have any pm. You can also use it up to harvest.

    Hey Kyle, Great listen!! I'd recommend regalia in a larger sized room at around day 18-20(soil) or day 14 hydro. You may need a pesticide license depending location but it does the trick well, and doesn't damage plants. I also use potassium bicarb, but only until first week of flower. Omina is also a good product to use IN the soil. This product deters powdery mildew and doesn't allow the pathogen to find a host to source sugars from. Anything past week three i really would only recommend 75 degree water ph of 7. This basically acts as the ph changer, but without damaging trichomes. You may find yourself able to get through a harvest without the water spray though depending on your environmental swings. Regalia is long lasting. Long time weed nerd here. Long live subcool!!!

    Best way to prevent powder mildew and bugs is make sure your nutrients are in balance and are properly cycled.
    No matter what ipm you use, it is at a cost to your end product.

    • @Zenthanol
      @Zenthanol 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That can help! But powdery mildews are really good at suppressing their host immune system, and even exploit susceptibility genes in the plant, so sometimes nutrients aren't enough unfortunately.

      @@Zenthanolagreed. Someone once told me the Kingdom of fungi can process around 1.4trillion X 200 proteins which we might equate to problem solving capacity.. humans have a mere 22,000x200 according to unique strands of DNA. This suggests you are right to suggest that nutrients alone may not be enough to defeat an infection.
      It might be that we could avoid the transmission through perfect nutrient management where our plants are storing more energy than they are using, this able to create thicker waxes on surfaces that might resist infection, at least if it can be maintained, but it's super easy to say super hard to do.
      There are studies suggesting that REDOX motivation might also be used to mitigate but for how long when you have such capacity.
      To think too that fungi are known to recruit bacteria to reduce antifungal type products which might be a threat to PM etc.
      Great talk. You are cool Matt..I always learn when I listen to you

    • @Zenthanol
      @Zenthanol 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@partidaportet27 My "Powdery Mildew | Zenthanol IPM Series" goes into some of the ways plants defend against PM such as with an arsenal of compounds and hyperoxide/redox to destroy the cells they infect, and likewise how PM can (or cannot!) disrupt this, you make a salient point about just how mutative PM can be and that has played a big role in making them hard to defeat with even healthy plants.
      Not to mention like you say, PM can be disrupted by microbes both competing as fellow pathogens or as beneficial symbionts!

    Amino acids with Calcium is supposed to help with powder mildew. Harly Smith, a scientists talks about it. It does something to the cell walls that stops the powdery mildew from penetrating so it can continue its life. There's a scientific way to describe it. I'm not a scientist. But I did learn it from one.

    • @Zenthanol
      @Zenthanol 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Matthew here: the major effect of calcium being described here I think is being incorporated into the physical structure of the plant cell wall which can slow sporeling penetration. However, sporelings have ways to mitigate this by dissolving cellulose and pectin (cell wall structure) will enzymes like cellulase and pectinase, so while it's a great supplement it should be combined with other disruptive elements for the best outcome!

    What are the PM resistant strains?

    • @partidaportet27
      @partidaportet27 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I suspect the answer is no one knows..it's luck of evolution if you believe such a concept.
      It is likely that certain plants have a greater range to switch out nutrients to fulfill metabolic pathways. For example, there are tomatoes and other fruits, food and likely weed, grown in brackish conditions due to a learned behaviour of plant lines to swap Potassium pathway interactions with Sodium,.clearly a more readily present Cation in brackish conditions. Ergo we might isolate cannabis that has a more dynamic access to initiate protein cascades as a response to a number of interchangeable.nutients. eg.if it said I must have adequate silica to resist PM and I am growing where access to this nutrient is restricted, over time we might find a variety of our plant becomes capable to switch out low Si with a replacement Nutrient X and still fulfill the path to liberate the plant from infection or risk.
      This is pure speculation on my part but I see.life is determined and very often there is more than one route to completing any task within the frame of life.

    Wrong man, im also from the 80s and there are ways to have 0 sprays, 0 pm and 0 mites. I took classes at the amsterdam hydro school and grew up in Van in the early 90s. spraying is for weak ass growers and outdoor guys. Build it right, dissinfect everything including substrate, start from seed or tissue culture. PM is in the air, you Must control the air and environment 100%. Start with a simple merv 13 air intake system and recirculating air system backed up with uv light dissinfection, more advanced systems are available. I have 0 pm 0 mites 0 boytritis 0 spraying not even water. I run 300 to 500 light shows. I am a Master Grower taught by a Master grower from Amsterdam .
