Phill Cambell has never really got the credit that he deserved not just as a great guitarist but as an integral part of what Motorhead have done, Lemmy knew great musicianship when he saw it and Phil fitted the bands criteria perfectly.
Indeed. Phil wasn't only the longest running guitar player they had, he really carried that torch from Overnight Sensation (or even Sacrifice) onwards. But as with all other old school bands out there, people are only interested in the "classic" lineup and albums. While my fave album is Bomber, I do think several of the Phil (and Würzel) albums such as Inferno, Bastards, Orgasmatron and Aftershock are better than the early Fast Eddie stuff. There's so much greatness to be found in Motörhead's catalogue besides Ace of Spades or Overkill, if people only dared to look it up. One of the most solid discographies out there along with AC/DC.

I feel like that is one of the most undervalued guitar solos of rock out there! This live version is simply unbeatable, but the studio version is a killer too (get it?) and it never makes any "best solos" lists... Maybe if Slash or Van Halen had done it, people would remember it more.
Campbell looks so young.Mind you so did I when I saw this line up.Wurzel was something else live aswell.Great stuff.Seen them many many times but to me this four piece line up took the cigar live.
Heads and above the other versions; this one from '85 is THE BEST! The guitar solos throughout this, are just so out of this world, especially the one at the end. RIP!
I'll say it again; 'It is still the best version by a mile! The guitar work is just too good, you can't help but be moved and the song is so poignant now!!
Got to experience this line up first hand when we supported them in Christchurch New Zealand June 1984. Phenomenal performance! Truthfully, so good, I didn't even notice Phil and Eddie ware missing.
Yes, certainly. I just most recently heard it again live and it’s still all there. It’s great to stand two feet away of an icon, one of my guitar idol’s, on a 80 cm high podium. Basically looking him straight into the fretboard/face. Phil Campbell and his (B)sons are very very good in doing their own songs and clips.
I keep coming back after seeing this line up.The ending is just awesome.A big wall of sound that sawed your head clean off.God knows how many decibels but a great experience.Onething Lemmy always did at the end was face the drummer to cue in the last run.Bass and drums together. This is a good video but you had to see them live to really get it.
Lemmy. No bullshit. No compromise. No pretense. Straight ahead, ass kicking, balls out RAWK AND ROLL! Hope he's got a comfy barstool, a poker machine and all the JD he can drink wherever he is now.
Lemmys mad bass and Wurzels guitar were meant to be.Seen them and they knocked you backwards at 100 DB,s.When you get a couple of guys full of scotch its a good night.
'Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive, But to be young was very heaven!' William Wordsworth I've been rocking out to Motorhead since 1980, and I ain't dead yet!
Its extragne how Phil could play like this when he was young and now (since a lot of years) he plays with a much more "basic style"... in that progression he could be a true guitar legend now
His name was Mick Burston, better known as Würzel! He played with Motörhead from 1984 to 95 and he was a brilliant guitarist and a very nice, laid back bloke! ♠️♠️♠️
This song starts like a f**** steam train going down hill with no brakes, once it gets going you better not get in it’s way. Freaking awesome. RIP Lemmy you were one in a trillion man.
What I love about heavy metal is that in a hundred, two hundred years, you'll still be able to throw up the horns and head bang to it. You can't do that with classical music. Look how old that music is. Heavy metal rules! Rest in peace, Lemmy. You were fucking awesome. 🤘🤘
What a Campbell guitar solo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phill Cambell has never really got the credit that he deserved not just as a great guitarist but as an integral part of what Motorhead have done, Lemmy knew great musicianship when he saw it and Phil fitted the bands criteria perfectly.

Spot on.... Campbell is a 24 carat Gold badass!
and wurzl certainly didn't
I think he has as he should. Phil's stuff is magic, this solo on No Sleep at all is one of the best, I found this video looking for that one. 👍🤘👍🤘👍
Lemmy was iconic in so many ways... Music composing, vocals, bass sound and his style. No other like him, one of a kind, a legend. R.I.P.
Plus his great persona, knowledge and intelligence...
There are two guitars here, mixed loud AF and he's still louder and can be easily heard. Lemmy is God
Ending solo still sends goosebumps all over my body its non comparable to any other live version. Never forget mortorhead we love rock and roll
Have you seen the 1 where there playing a kids show in front of some flats , the outro solo is another planet 🎸📟📟🎸🍻
this one compares imo; th-cam.com/video/Odb4BV-p7yg/w-d-xo.html both are my favourite performances of this song.

I love all the solos on it, in fact really loved the dual lead stuff Phil and Wurzel did, even if it wasn't the classic Motorhead power trio sound.
Check Motörhead playing live on the "Saturday Starship" in 1984. Wrong audience, but damn so good!
Phill Campbell great guitar player !!
I just can't believe how good it sounds.

the best version by a long way, was lucky enough to be there 31 years ago

Beyond brilliant, Phil C fantastic on guitar..
And wurzel as well
Best live version ever!
True.
RIP Lemmy! one of the best killed by death that i've ever heard. from the birthday party release
Phil Campbell take a fucking bow
It can't get more hard rock'n roll than this
I don't know what is about 1985 but some of the best rock was going on. Iron Maiden Live after Death, the best they ever did and many more!
Favorite Motörhead song, and this version is tops. Gives me the same feeling as when I’m ripping around on a dirt bike.
WOW! This version is amazing
couple more minutes of Phil at the end would be nice. what a tune.
holy fcuk that solo is off the hook
Comes from the live album / video concert « The Birhday Party ».
Una delle più belle canzoni heavy di tutti i tempi. L'assolo finale è suonato quasi
come l'originale ed è un assolo da favola

still the meanest bass tone in all of history
🤘🤘 Motorhead for life...
You cannot sound more greasy Les Paul than this. Slash before Slash, all mics open, full speed.
This ending solo rocks...
This is there best rendition This song rocks!

Campbell = Metal Magician.... Motorhead were the greatest R&R band in all 3 iterations. Lemmy, Mickey and Phil were the best of the best!
