Bruckner sounds like massive well and elegantly designed structures
One can contemplate "Heaven" on this one.....Absolute greatness in conducting and composing...
Wunderschöne und tiefempfundene Aufführung dieser großartigen Messe mit gut harmonisierten Stimmen beider ausgezeichneten Chöre und herrlichen Stimmen vierer genialen Solisten sowie gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente. Der intelligente und unvergleichliche Dirigent leitet das ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut betrachteten Tempo und mit perfekt kontrollierter Dynamik. Alles ist wunderbar!

Basta sentire l'inizio per capire dove andrà Bruckner con questa Messa....in Paradiso certamente e anche noi trasportati con sublime lievità anche da interventi solistici del primo violino ricordando il grande Beethoven della Missa Solemnis.

Your comment is very well taken, Angelo: just as Bruckner accepted the challenge that Beethoven's symphonies presented, it follows that the Bruckner would have the Missa Solemnis in mind when composing a mass.

Two great versions Celi and Blomstedt.......Please avoid Karajan ( mechanicals)
I don't believe Karajan ever recorded this work by Bruckner and. I don't think he ever conducted a live performance .
"et incarnatus est" remembers me Dvorak "stabat mater" (personel opinion)
