      I won't often pass up cuddles, but sometimes it is hard to hit pause on whatever I'm doing. All of those meals are so easy and everyone enjoyed them. The kids and Dave all really love the lazy lasagna. Hope you're having a great week, Cindy. 😊

    Pork chop recipes are challenging. I always end up making in the crock pot so they soften up.

    Great meals Lindsay, your Lazy Lasagna looked wonderful and so much easier than the traditional way of making lasagna.

      Hey Kerry, yes the lasagna is so easy. I still make it the traditional way, but if I'm in a hurry, this way works too. It's always a big hit in our home. And makes great leftovers for lunches! 😊

    It all looked delicious to me, I haven't made a homemade mac and cheese in a super long time, my husband would love it though if I did, maybe I'll throw it in to my meal plan for later this month. Pork chops are a hard meat to keep tender, the last time I made them in the crockpot my husband didn't care for them, he felt like they dried out, but I cooked them for the amount of time suggested, maybe my crock run hot, but I usually just bake them in the oven or when I have super thick ones I stuff them and put them in my instant-pot. Thanks for sharing some of your yummy meals with us, I always appreciate these videos because I'll be honest after cooking for about 45 years of my life, I feel like my recipes are tired and we are tired of them. Have a great weekend, hope you have nice weather.

      Hey Tania, I think we all start to feel like we have the same meals on rotation... I often think I make the same things all the time. I'm sorry the black beans didn't make it in this video. I haven't actually made them yet. The kids were all sick at different times over the past bit, and no one seemed to be in the mood for them. But I'll try to record when I do eventually make them. I find baking my pork chops or slow cooking them gives the best results that we like. I don't like them when they are tough and dry. I've never seen the super thick ones in our stores.

      @@mominthemaritimes we can occasionally find the thick cut pork chops at Costco, but when we go to the regular market I just ask the butcher to cut some thicker for us. I can wait till you have a chance to make the black beans, I just know it will be worth the wait. Thanks again Lindsay.

    I started cracking up when you said the recipe says don't do that...then you do it and were like oh well, we'll see😂😂😂happy it didn't curdle! I really wanted that recipe to be great because I'm always looking for a good pork chop recipe! I grew up eating them breaded and fried...my hubby loves them w shake n bake...I'm lookin for a good creamy recipe like you had...oh well, back on the hunt!

      @mominthemaritimes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha I was glad it didn't curdle too, Kristine!! The taste was good, but I just found the pork chops kind of dry. I usually season them and cook them in cream of mushroom soup and a bit of sour cream, but decided to try something different for a change. If you find a yummy one, let me know! 😊😊

    Lovely recipes! Everything looked delicious! I wonder how the pork chop recipe will tasted if you add whole peppercorns to the sauce.

    • @mominthemaritimes
      @mominthemaritimes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bet that would taste really good, Carol. The taste wasn't too bad, I just found them a bit dry for my liking.

      @@mominthemaritimes not sure peppercorns would help with keeping them moist, but they would spice up the flavor. Maybe use a bit more cream to help keep them moist.

    Put this cheese sauce over hash browns or a baked potato. It is yummy.
    This is more ore less the orignal Betty Crocker recipe of white sauce with the cheese variation. That one and the deviled eggs both use dry mustard and NO recipes for either top them imo (along with a few othrers).
    However, I have never understanding baking already cooked pasta. Not a criticism, just me. I guess maybe if someone wants crisp edges and browned cheese. I don't when it comes to pasta. I want it saucy, cheesy, whatever the pasta dish.
    BUT THIS IS an EXCEPTIONAL cheese sauce recipe. Nothing like it. And that bit of dry mustard enhances to no end. Use it over potatoes, broccoli, anything.
    I have never felt a need to try other recipes with some things because they are just so good. I have eaten other's deviled eggs for mac and cheese for instance, but not once have they surpassed this simple but very good sauce or the deviled eggs. Another is the classic pineapple upside down cake. I could go on....
    But both the bechamel/white sauce or any variation like cheese sauce, their classic deviled eggs, and many, are exceptional.
    And will stop and not go on.
    Anyhow just endorsing this cheese sauce. Best I've ever had. And anyone who wants to can vary the cheeses, do a variety, etc. but just the plain forward one is very good.

      @@venusgal2706 I agree, this recipe is great. I bake the Mac and cheese to crisp up the bread crumbs on top. 😊
