I don't know if anyone has mentioned it here, but I don't think their natural and casual dialogue is random. At least not the bit about Dr Who. It actually fits with what comes later. The Doctor and the other time traveler are traveling through time and meeting each other at different places in the timeline. That's what happens the second time around.
4 bodies because it was a time loop. Steve wasn’t gone for 3 years, time doesn’t seem to exist right in where they are. It was 3 years for them, a few minutes for Steve
It's terrifying to see someone so young, someone we just saw laughing with their friends, getting murdered so brutally. For some reason it hits different to see it happen to kids rather than adults.
@@datboi46523 While not remotely always true, kids tend to be happier, more naive, innocent, etc, and have more to live for. And are more likely to chill with friends as we see them doing here. To see that shattered before they really get the chance to do anything - likely only having had education and maybe a couple of low-end part-time jobs - is very impactful. It's like... the opposite of wholesome.
I think the symbol at the end of 3 represents the road going to the vanishing point, and the horizontal line across it means the road doesn't go through, that it's a loop trap. And the circle is the tunnel.
I remember watching Jacksepticeye back when he was looking at scary videos, I literally hid in the comments while No through Road was playing in one of his vids, still haven't fully watched it, I think the main reason is that it all feels TOO real, like this was actual found footage of real people dying.
i just realized; the reason they say four bodys were found is because dave was *caught* at the end steve, oli, dave, and james if the country-side keeps looping in on itself, then thats how there were 4 bodies, dave got lift in the first half of the loop, 3 years in his past
Part of the reason why the conversations sound so authentic in part one, like they got a camera and decided to film themselves, is because that’s basically how it happened. They got a camera and decided to film themselves driving around one night. They came across the tunnel and came up with the story, coming back another night to film the guy in the mask scene.
the symbol at ~32:33 looks to me like a road stretching out into infinity, the line across is where the "countryside" starts, and the "triangle" is just the illusion of the road ending, but the lines are paralelle and it's just the perspective.
When I first saw No Through Road, something about the way the music loops as the killer arrives has just left this teary-eyed dread in me and I think that's fucking amazing for something so simple
One thing that often gets overlooked is the fact that, while Past Steve & Future Steve are scuffling, Past Steve is the one who eventually gets on top of Future Steve, which explains why Steve is pleading with his other self to “wait, WAIT!”; because his past self discovered who he was fighting. Meaning that Future Steve is the one that gets killed with the camera, while Past Steve is the one who eventually runs off, meeting James & Dave in the past-future of 3 years later. One thing that doesn’t quite make sense about this is how Past Steven gets the blood on his face despite the fact that Future Steve is the one who gets hit with the camera & is the bloodied Steven, but this could also just be a continuity error. Or maybe there’s a secret NTR1.5 event that we never see, but still happens between Steven’s escape & meeting with Future James & Dave. Also, it’s explained that Dave wasn’t part of the original events of NTR1, explaining why he wasn’t ever mentioned or heard from. Presumably, the four bodies found are: Past Ollie, Future Steven, Future James, and Dave, though this wouldn’t entirely make sense since James would obviously still be alive, as would Dave, but there aren’t really any other possibilities, unless authorities found Past James’s body, along with a random, unknown person’s body, while Past James still somehow becomes Future James. But we know at the very least, Ollie and Steven die, with Dave presumably being killed by the Masked Man (going off how NTR4 ends). And we only never see Future James again after he runs off, and Past James definitively survives NTR1, so it’d have to be Future James.
reasoning for past steven having blood on his face even though he wasn't the steven with his face smashed in was prob just future's blood splattered on his face
Considering that's what he says at the start as he eats the chocolate bar, which is called Crunchie, that's the franchise name, I think you would if you think your mates are being eaten the same way.
It’s weird how we all thought of this video at around the same time. I was just thinking about No through road, and 3 days ago there’s a video made about it. Weird.
My personal head cannon for the bodies in the car is that it’s the end of the loop. That them escaping the constant cycle was through dying, somehow. And the footage being what happened before hand.
There is a forth person in the car in the first video, he’s just not mentioned much since most of the camera angles are Ollie driving or Steve and James in the back seat
Reminds me, a little of Pumpkin Head. You call Pumpkin Head to punish someone that hurt/killed your loved one(s). But in doing so..... You will become the next Pumkin Head, called to punish/kill someone else, who wrongful hurt/killed someone you loved.
Woah, this series is literally so scary omg. It reminds me of the movie The Ritual, it works perfectly as a short video series! The story of the house and how to break the loop and the nonexistent town itself is so interesting, but left unknown. SO COOL! Also the symbol looks like a perspective of the road, maybe it's meant to be a warning of the time loop and threshold
No through road used to creep me out as a kid, I even remember when i rewatched it from coryxkenshin’s spooky scary Sunday and I got nothing but tears of fear in my eyes from it. Just thinking about how you’re technically your own monster but also stuck in a loop in some way just doesn’t sit right and in the end you never get the answer as to why. Great video man!
I remember watching the first part years ago, I never knew there was more to it! To this day, i still get so many chills listening to the guys screams, they sound so genuinely scared and that's how brilliant of actors they are. Amazing video as always, take care.
I remember when this video came out it scared me so much I didn’t watch TH-cam for a month and to this day it’s one of the only videos that still scares me no matter how many times I rewatch it
The symbol can be the tunnel, the white triangle is the tunnel itself, the lines that follow the edges of the triangle the road and the horizontal wall dividing the wall from the floor
The symbol could represent the road, and the line is the barrier between the Road through and the No Road Through, as if it’s an Upside down type situation

I miss horror stuff like this and Marble Hornets, since they feel more grounded and scarier than most Analog Horror stuff. Unlocked some old memories with this one. This was one of the first horror things I watched on TH-cam, aside from classic screamer vids. No idea it was a series, or became a series; it was a standalone when I checked the channel back then.
I like to believe the symbol at the end of 3 is supposed to symbolize a road leading to a tunnel. The triangle being the tunnel on the two lines coming from it, being the road
OMG I watched no through road 1 when I was like 9 and it gave me some of the worst nightmares of my life. Despite that I was obsessed with the terror of it but was never able to find it again, thank you so much for a good video and such an intense blast from the past!
Here’s the best way to explain how when they filmed NTR they kept looping. During the “camera glitches” that the people who made ntr edited, it’s really hard to see but during the camera glitch you can see them “teleport.” So the best way to describe is they record, reverse, edit in the camera glitch to make it seem like they actually looped.

now im always awaiting the next video. i love your editing style and this actually brought me back to when i used to watch stuff like this all the time. truly a great channel, keep up the good work :)
i think the symbol is a drawing representation of the looping road itself. the triangle in the middle being the controlling force and the circle connected to the triangle is the road itself, i just thought that we can see the sign that says 2 different town names forming some sort of three-way road and going either way of the road brings you back into the loop.
the connection to little nightmares actually makes since given that steve almost kills past steve to then make past steve turn into the present steve that starts the loop it’s kinda similar to what mono did to the thin guy if the thin guy really was mono and then mono turned into the thin man to then start his own loop pretty much im trying to say that both mono and steve fought themselves and then turned into what they were running from in order to start a loop
I think that masked man symbol is to symbolize how the masked man has a sort of barrier around the mountain filled countryside, it’s as if the symbol shows his domain over this countryside
I thought the symbol represented the road and the loop itself. Because the no through road sign is actually a line bisected with another (like a T), but it still 'continues' after the supposed 'stop' line, meaning it's like looking at the horizon and not being able to see the end but knowing it's there somewhere, and the circle represents the headlights, which we've seen be used as a sort of measure for how 'far' along the road they are.
Riding off the idea that the countryside is the horror, thats been done to death. On the idea that it isnt all about a supernatural evil however, my interpretation is that its a time loop that may have been going on so long that some of the teens themselves went crazy and started trying to kill each other. That would explain the fact that all their quotes are in the barn. Such an interpretation also makes the paying respects scene even more impactful, and broadly could be applied to some consideration in the real world about not panicking with your friends in scary situations, like not overreacting
Fun fact: Them mentioning Doctor Who is because the time loop is based off of a Doctor Who mini-episode pairing, _Space_ & _Time_ (clever name), where, from what I read up about it, the TARDIS breaks down, causing it to appear inside of itself, leading to a bootstrapped chain of information being passed along indefinitely through tightly coiled time with no possible origin or end point. I must admit, the closest I’ve ever gotten to Doctor Who is a three-way tie between my sister saying she liked it when she was younger, HBomberGuy putting a few clips of it in his Sherlock video, and knowing Weeping Angels are a thing, but _surely_ I’m close enough to right.
I remember watching this, I don’t know how many years ago, but I was shit scared! No movie or game based in horror has ever gotten me as badly as this video did. Perhaps it’s about time I go for a rewatch
As I expected the video is amazing and I will be waiting for analysis videos like this. Maybe a video for Every Man Hybrid? It would probably take a lot of time but I couldnt find a decent good analysis video even if I did i would've love to watch it from you!
I thought that the symbol was a hobo tag, they’re used to say that a road is bad or if they could get work nearby. But it’s the bridge, THE LITERAL TUNNEL THAT STARTED IT ALL. also a empty circle in the hobo glyphs means nothing to be gained here. 32:04
I watched the original videos and didnt understand shit actually and thanks to youtube for not sending a fucking notification. Anyways im excited to watch this, yet i gotta wait for my girlfriend to watch together but i already know you made a significant job so dropped the like. Keep cooking.
I had NTR pop in my home page a few days ago and its by far the most disturbing horror series I've seen on YT. Glad to see its getting more recognition.
I love videos like this that commentate/analyze analog horror series/videos but man, they do disturb me sometimes. Analog horror is so much more scary than like a horror movie like IT or smt that is full of jumpscares.
In the words of Santa and the best way to summarize this weird series, “He’s already dead, he just doesn’t know it yet, ho ho” Why yes, I did just bring up IDKsturling in an analysis video containing a nightmarish scenario as the topic
By the way your fellow horror coverage bloke in the UK Fred Jonesy did a pretty reasonable analysis of this series. Between what I said, you said, and he said, I think we could put together a pretty good interpretation of what's going on

My interpretation of the symbol is that it is the road, the white triangle is the tunnel and the lines below symbolise the road.
I see a road in the symbol, to symbolize the infinite loop of road and time the group went through. :)
I had NTR pop in my home page a few days ago and its by far the most disturbing horror series I've seen on YT. Glad to see its getting more recognition.
Bro i thought i was the only one to remember no through road right on guy
Great video , keep it up
ty for bringing to my attention there is more than just the first video
i live for British TH-cam, because i am british. Now whenever i buy a crunchie and eat it i will say, TIME FOR CRUNCHIE
I love videos like this that commentate/analyze analog horror series/videos but man, they do disturb me sometimes. Analog horror is so much more scary than like a horror movie like IT or smt that is full of jumpscares.
In the words of Santa and the best way to summarize this weird series, “He’s already dead, he just doesn’t know it yet, ho ho”
Why yes, I did just bring up IDKsturling in an analysis video containing a nightmarish scenario as the topic
I remember the first time watching "No Through Road"
yeah no through road is fire
I love No though road! It was so realistic.
Holy shit, I saw this when I was younger!! I’m so happy I found this!!! This haunted younger me, I’m so happy I’ve found it!! :D
ngl i might make a game based off this series its that good
By the way your fellow horror coverage bloke in the UK Fred Jonesy did a pretty reasonable analysis of this series. Between what I said, you said, and he said, I think we could put together a pretty good interpretation of what's going on
If time can f up then I think somehow he could’ve went through a time skip thing, (maybe the tunnel?) That sent him forward in time
