Hi All, I just want you to know that I fixed mine without underclocking the GPU. All I did was repasted the GPU (My GPU is Sapphire Nitro+ RX 580). This GPU of mine was already repasted by my friend before. I tried to open it up and I discovered that my friend used 1mm thick of thermal pads around the GPU processor which is too thick. The stock thermal pads of Sapphire Nitro+ Rx580 is only 0.75mm. Since I don't have the 0.75mm of thermal pads the day I opened my GPU, what I did is I temporarily remove all the thermal pads that my friend put on the gpu and only repasted the GPU processor. I installed back the heatsink without the thermal pads just to test if it will work. I tested my GPU without thermal pads and guess what, It works! Its working normally since then. Its not going black screen again unlike before. I doubt the reason why the GPU goes black screen and fan starts spinning fast is because when the GPU starts to render, the GPU temp will suddenly increase and because of the thickness (1mm) of the thermal pads that my friend put on the GPU, the GPU can't make it cooldown on the sudden rise of temperature due to the heatsink is not attached properly. Just my observation. When I got my order of 0.75mm thermal pads, I applied it to my GPU and it's still working. So, my suggestion is, repaste your GPU and replace thermal pads, just make sure that the thickness of pads is correct. You may try to research it on web what is the thickness of your GPU thermal pads. If you don't have a replacement yet, you may also try to remove your old thermal pads temporarily and try if your GPU will also work normally. But just don't use your GPU for heavy load until you replace the thermal pads. To anyone that will try my suggestion, please comment down if this will also work for you.

I'm on a Mac so I don't have access to Afterburner... is there an equivalent fix for me? Desperately hoping to resolve this issue or I'm going to get a K5000 or something.
My problem is much worst While gaming screen goes blank no signal! Force restart tada radeon driver missing had to uninstall and reinstall the driver and while gaming it happen again and again . Didnt try this method yet thinking of buying new gpu nvidia rtx for sure but let me try this method first i'll comeback at you real soon .
Nice Fix, however there is no combo fix for this, This problem can be caused by many things, in most cases it is one that is soon to fail. When the GPU needs more power, the component fails and produces a small short circuit. When you limit the FPS you are making a limit for the GPU Power too, so if u have a nice card 75 FPS will be not so much problem. but if u have a small car 75 FPS can be no diference from a "Full Load". So this can be a solution (Partial) and its a Great one. But keep in mind that the GPU its starting to fail due a bad IC. And most of the cases its a MOSFET or DrMOSFET
I have a RX 560 and most of these videos apply other than some clocks speeds and voltage differences. I’m having this issue when I turn on my pc. It’s very odd. Some times it will go out when I turn it on but like last night I played rust at normal settings for about 5 hours with no issues. Now It’s turning on then going out. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue. I know my 6pin pci-e adapter has a pin missing is that the issue? Any suggestions?
@@GreesonTheGoat the missing pin on de PSU PCI-E cable is bad, but if you was able to play 5 hours i asume that its not the problem. So its happen just gaming or sitimg on desktop too? You can try to low the core clock or memory clocks and check if the problem persist. May be to the GPU Core itself or some memory module.
@@ary9928 I’ve had this issue for some time now. It comes in waves. Some times everything will be just fine and I can play intensive games just fine. But right now, and this has happened before, I will turn on the pc and load into windows then give or take 60-90s the video goes out on both my monitors. I saw a suggestion from another video saying that I need to reinstall amd drivers and select standard settings over the normal gaming one we all pick. Another suggestion said to use the msi afterburner tool the tuner thing to limit fps to something lower.
had something similar with an rtx 2060... black screen while under load. downclocking the memory did it for me though i'm not very happy with this solution for obvious reasons
I have a similar issue with an gtx770 4gb but only while playing Mordhau. Downcloacking core clock and memory seem to have fixed the issue with no performance loss
I've same problem on MSI 480 8 GB...I'll try with Afterburner checking fan curve and undervolting. However i don't install any new driver because is really unstable on gpu! I think that i'll but NVIDIA Gpu.
ive switched the bios battery out like a month ago or something that seemed to have fix the problem for a bit but today i was playing a game decided to bump the graphics to max and after like 30mins or so it happened
also your psu might not be powerful enough to meet the requirements the components in your pc are going to need. you can try and lower the voltage of your gpu. if you have a radeon with the software. you can do it there

i have same issue but only for pirated games. im using riva turner already. im playing rdr2 bfv forza 5 rocket league fifa22 with no problem but i downloaded f1 22 from fitgirl and its keep crashing. Black screen no signal and the case working with maxed out fans.
Thanks for the vid I will try it after my new psu comes in, because as for my issue I think it's the lack of power draw from psu cause I only have 1 pcie slot that has (2x6+2 pins) and my GPU requires 2 2x8 pins, apparently from what I read connecting 2 pcie slots to the gpu solved their issues
I got the black screen even without running a game. Only windows idle for some time and it will give black screen when come back. But it play games fine. Sometimes. And sometimes after many hours of gaming it will give black screen. And when it does, sometimes the neon light on the card is off (should be always on) and if the neon light is off, I have to power off the pc and then power on again to make it work again. But if the neon is still on during black screen, reset button would be OK.
I got the same problem on my 2070 Super, it can mostly start games and play fine, but it crashes either around 15 mins after powering the pc or about 90 minutes into a cs:go session. Fixed this for about 4 weeks by removing and adding the card back properly plugging it. Now its more frequent again and the old fix didnt work.
i have 3060 ti i am playing valo pretty good i want to ask if you need to cap at 75 bcs i have 240hz monitor so is not even enyoable to play on 75 fps , when im in game i get like 600 fps so do you think i can cap on like 300 fps?
I haven’t tried this yet but it is literally the exact same issue I’m having. My question is though, do we seriously need to keep the limit at 75 fps for every game? I just wish I could push it a bit more on games that can handle the 144-165 fps.
@@kaiscoupe I have tried it and it does work on my computer as long as it's on 75 fps max. Now I can set the limiter off on specific games like Rocket League where I get the full 165 frames. I would troubleshoot a little bit.

@@crotasend9094 Hello!
I wonder if its not necessarily a 75fps limit or if its the monitor limit, I'm running a 75fps monitor so I cant do that kind of testing but it may be worth trying
I found the problem after 6 months trying to find this!! You need to check your GPU Clock MHz what the minimum and the maximum of your gpu is. My gpu has minimum 1470MHz and maximum 1680MHz So i locked with msi afterburner to maximum 1680MHz Because without it . It was going till 1890MHz and thats not recommended to my GPU. If you do this it would work properly that fixed my problem Second solve is that you need to check your temperature. If its to high put your gpu temp limit to max and try to fix with thermal paste, pads
Guys I had the same problem...exactly like shown in the video.... The GPU temperature used to reach 70 (which should be normal but nevertheless) I replaced the thermal paste for the GPU and that worked for me for about a year...everything was normal...but then I had the same exact problem only this time the temperature didn't reach 50....and so I had to take it to a service when they told me the problem is with the chipset itself "Short Circuit" is what he said so they replaced it with a new one for about 160$ ... So solutions: 1.Replace the thermal paste if your temperature reaches 70° 2. Take it to a computer technician so they can change the graphics card's processor... 3.its not because of the power supply cause the pc does not turn off!!!!!
UPDATE: Same problem accored again! Turns out a couple wires of my PCI cable that goes to the GPU from the power supply are burnt up! Took the hole case to a pc service...tried another PSU...but still the same problem...he said it has to be a motherboard issue then...I have the guarantee paper for my motherboard so I sent it to the service...and I'll give ya guys the feedback when this gets sorted out.
UPDATE: Motherboard turns out to be fine...I just replaced the hole PSU with a new one and the problem got fixed! *That A&%hole who told me "the problem is with motherboard because I tried another PSU and still didn't work" well, he's an idiot at his job cause apparently HE DIDN'T TRY ANOTHER PSU!

While gaming screen goes blank no signal! Force restart tada radeon driver missing had to uninstall and reinstall the driver and while gaming it happen again and again . Let me know! :)
I have the same problem but in video editing with AI. The gpu starts processing but then black screen and no commands available
Nice Fix, however there is no combo fix for this,
This problem can be caused by many things, in most cases it is one that is soon to fail.
Well 75 fps is hard for my rx 580 4gb (especially in triple A game). But this fix is work for me idk why

Exactly, lack of power can be the cause, I hope it will work for you!
@@LonelyTime apparently changing psu didn't solve my issue, is your card still working? After 9 months

- Clean the card and change the thermal paste
- Update your drivers
- Limit your fps from the card (not the best option but if you have no alternative)
- (At your own risk) Play with the clock and voltage. Maybe the GPU is not stable yet. (again, at your own risk. You may damage the GPU)

lmao there goes my 144hz 1ms freesync monitor xD
xD
I wonder if its not necessarily a 75fps limit or if its the monitor limit, I'm running a 75fps monitor so I cant do that kind of testing but it may be worth trying
This happened to me when I bought ram that wasn’t compatible with my motherboard
Changing ram did nothing for me, but maybe it could help somebody else, thank you :)
I found the problem after 6 months trying to find this!!
You need to check your GPU Clock MHz what the minimum and the maximum of your gpu is.
My gpu has minimum 1470MHz and maximum 1680MHz
So i locked with msi afterburner to maximum 1680MHz
Because without it . It was going till 1890MHz and thats not recommended to my GPU.
If you do this it would work properly that fixed my problem
Second solve is that you need to check your temperature.
If its to high put your gpu temp limit to max and try to fix with thermal paste, pads
I have already tried all this and unfortunately it does not work for me :(

hahaha 🤣no prob 😉
Guys I had the same problem...exactly like shown in the video....
The GPU temperature used to reach 70 (which should be normal but nevertheless) I replaced the thermal paste for the GPU and that worked for me for about a year...everything was normal...but then I had the same exact problem only this time the temperature didn't reach 50....and so I had to take it to a service when they told me the problem is with the chipset itself "Short Circuit" is what he said so they replaced it with a new one for about 160$ ...
So solutions:
1.Replace the thermal paste if your temperature reaches 70°
2. Take it to a computer technician so they can change the graphics card's processor...
3.its not because of the power supply cause the pc does not turn off!!!!!
UPDATE:
Same problem accored again!
UPDATE:
Motherboard turns out to be fine...I just replaced the hole PSU with a new one and the problem got fixed!
