Hey I finally got one the other day and shot it. I only had 327 mags. They sure are snappy. I think I am going to get some different grips though. I like the ones you have.
The .32 HR is probably my favorite small gun round, although the .327 is still pretty awesome. It's basically similar to a .38 special, but you get an extra shot in a small revolver, while being easy to shoot/less report (.327s are LOUD). Out of a medium frame gun (e.g. sp101), the .327 is fantastic, and pretty much superior in terms of controllability than the .357, while having similar performance out of anything with a barrel length of 4" or less. I find the 4" barrel length to sort of be the demarcation for the .327, where the .357 starts to significantly exceed it in performance. I think for small revolvers, the .327 platform is superior to the .357 in all ways that matter, except for ammo availability. If the .327 had come out back in the 1940/50s, I think it would have supplanted the .357/.38, as the common revolver caliber.
The one thing better than yourself doing some shooting is watching somebody else shoot their Wish List firearm with their own reloaded ammo. Great man. The smile on your face when you touched off the first 2 of the 327 rounds was priceless. I forgot the Buffalo Bore besides being a little stout are a little smoky too. Glad you enjoyed shooting the little magnum.

Great video. Best caliber for self defense when you compare capacity, penetration, and wounding. I reload both the 327, and 30 SC. They use the same bullets. The New HST 327 is very hot, and not much fun out out of a LCR. Sweet spot to me is right between the H&R, and 327. H&R case loaded with 6 grs of CFE pistol gets you in the 1200 fps, 320 lbs with a 100 gr HST. Or 7 grs of CFE with a 85 gr XTP at over 1300 FPS and same energy. My wife bought the Taurus 327. Never plan to shoot .327 mags out of it because that would defeat the purpose of having a low recoil revolver for the Mrs. 32 H&R mag work great for self defense and the 32 S&W Long has to be the cheapest to reload. I did have to send the first Taurus revolver back. Taurus sent me a new one. Second one works great.
327 recoil is not that bad. Still, H&R mag is much more pleasant to shoot. I have an old h&r revolver too that I carry loaded with S&W long soup can wadcutters that I cast myself. Great (and versatile) caliber!
That little 327 is sweet I could tell you was Enjoying shooting it and for good reason that was holding a pretty good group and good job on the reloads good video my friend enjoyed it

Thanks CW! I will carry this one. The barrel on this one is solid. No porting or venting. Those first two rounds really surprised me! I unintentionally set myself up with the lighter first loads and did not have as solid as a grip as I should. Love it though! The ball and shot load sounds great, look forward to it.
Nice video! .327 / 32 HR is a great + fun round, especially if you are a hand loader. Looking at your hits, it appears that some of your rounds may be tumbling. The short barrel will have trouble stabilizing heavier bullets ( in any caliber ) I have a snub Taurus in .44 spl that won’t shoot anything heavier than 200 grain bullets. Also, The velocity of the 327 Federal is impressive, but at the close range you would be using these revolvers, bullet failure is definitely a concern. I’m thinking 100 grain bullets at 800-900fps is the sweet spot of accuracy and performance.
The 327 is a nice round and the fact you can use 32 H&R and 32 long is great. Now you have to take out a loan to purchase the ammo. The ammo is pretty expensive.
Great video, nice to see what those rounds are pushing from a subnose. I'm still looking for a 327 revolver, I didn't know taurus was making them again, was thinking either a sp 101 or a single seven, to go with my Henry. I did pick up a police positive and a smith 31 in 32 both in 32 long.
Thanks J G. They are making them again but I couldn't find one. This is one of the old ones. I am thoroughly impressed with it. I love 32's. If Taurus makes a new one with a 3 inch barrel I'll be buying one for sure.
Thanks Marc, I really enjoyed this video. I was waiting on this video as I wanted to see how that pistol did with the different ammo. I know you were not competing or training to compete, but both times you used your speed loader your left hand grip changed. I just found it interesting. I'm sure my grip changes on every trigger pull. I noticed something with my shooting while looking at my videos. When I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a rifle shot, my trigger finger dances around prior to the pull. I'm not sure if I'm trying to get comfortable or what, but I know that I am not aware that I'm doing it. I literally think that my finger is resting on the trigger face and I'm squeezing off a round. I never knew this until I started editing my videos and noticed it happening. So I guess you can say the videos allow you to see things you were not aware of in order to adjust. On occasion I'll have a viewer point something out too and I just take it as helpful advice.
Thank you Cervus! I'm glad you enjoyed watching this one as much as I enjoyed making it. There's more to the story on the speedloader. I've never used one! @@marcthomas2482 I think a lot depends on what part of the country you're in, too. Here in the restrictive state of NY, I do not see any on the shelves. Hard to come by online as well.
Every so often there are good deals online. About 6 weeks ago, I bought some Speer Gold Dot 100gr 327 for ~$1/round online, it was factory blemished, but I bought 200, and wish I bought more. Last night, somebody on GB had Federal 100gr FMJ 327, 50 rd boxes, $25 each, I bought all six. Once shipping and taxes are factored in, it's probably 60-65 cents a round. I also bought 3 boxes (50 rounds each) Federal 85 gr H&R JHPs for $155 including shipping and taxes, so about $1.05/round delivered. On Texas Gun Trader, there was a guy selling a mix match of 32 SWL, 32H&R, and 327 250 rounds for $200. One has to do some scrounging, but it is out there at $1-$1.30/round if one is patient.
Not all revolvers turn in the same direction. When I lined up the chamber to fire next I was thinking it would turn opposite of what it did. That's why I got a click and not a bang.
It is an older one. Based on the Model 85 but not marked as such. The only marking is on the barrel "327 FED". I've been seeking a current production, 3", TORO with no success.
Lucky dog! I looked but couldn't find a new one. Now I'm waiting for a 3 inch barrel. HKS Model 32-J and it works great. I have two now and plan to make a double carrier.

Thanks for posting this video. Looking to buy a .32 revolver.
I hope you can, Tom. 327 or 32 h&r would be best as you can shoot some of the others in them. A nice inexpensive 32 s&w long revolver like an h&r or NEF would be good too. Thanks for watching!
@@marcthomas2482 Just scored a Charter Professional .32 H&R. Getting it tomorrow. No .327 rounds for me
That is fantastic! I do like the .327, but I honestly like shooting the h&r better. Congrats on the score, Charters are great guns!
I want one of these so bad, but can't find one in gun shops.
I have been searching too. This is an older one I found in a pawn shop. Took two years to find it!
Good luck finding 32 ammo now.
You are not wrong, but I scored 3 boxes of .327 in the last 3 months, have a few hundred rounds of h&r, and a good supply of S&W long brass. I cast bullets and reload for all 3! I even set up for .32ACP.😁 Thanks for watching!
Some of those rounds were screaming coming out of that 2 inch barrel
You bet. I could feel it in my hand too! I'm loving having that chronograph. I'm sure glad my son talked me into it so we could test nerf guns...😄😂😅
Sorry if I didnt catch it...what gun are you using?
Nice video...thanks!!
Sorry for the late reply. The gun in the video is an older Taurus .327 with no other designation. I have other guns in 32 h&r and 32SWL as well.
What did you mean about the "...cylinder not going the way you wanted it to."?
Not all revolvers turn in the same direction. When I lined up the chamber to fire next I was thinking it would turn opposite of what it did. That's why I got a click and not a bang.
I may have missed this information
Is this a new production Taurus 327 ? Or the older ones ?
It is an older one. Based on the Model 85 but not marked as such. The only marking is on the barrel "327 FED". I've been seeking a current production, 3", TORO with no success.
Great video sir
Thanks Ted!
what brand or holster is that your using for the 327?
I do leatherwork, and that is one that I made.
What HKS speedloader was it that you used in the video? I just picked up one of those new Taurus 327s and have been looking for a speedloader for it.
Lucky dog! I looked but couldn't find a new one. Now I'm waiting for a 3 inch barrel. HKS Model 32-J and it works great. I have two now and plan to make a double carrier.
@@marcthomas2482 Charter Arms makes a 7 round, 3" Barrel .32 H&R magnum revolver called The Professional. Now that I know how smooth these calibers are it is next on my to get list.
Really enjoyed that! Now that you've had that Taurus for a while, any issues? Or still running smooth?
Thanks! Running great, and it is my current daily carry.
@marcthomas2482 Nice! Thanks for the fast reply. Looking to get one.
Just curious, does the 327 take the same grips as the Taurus model 85? Not much stuff on the web
I'm no expert, but as I understand it, this (older) 327 is built on the model 85 frame. That would make the answer yes though I have not tried any other grips on it. I have not been able to get my hands on a new one yet...
@@marcthomas2482 thanks, if that’s the case my custom 85 grips should work. Just trying to find the right deal!
Best pandemic gun. Find the ammo few buy.
Great to reload for as well.
oh yea 👊💥
Thanks MCK!
What type of ammunition did you use at 5:28?
Hi Alexey. I'm pretty sure it was American Eagle. It was sent to me from a reliable source that I trust implicitly. I did not take it from the box myself though.
Is that a 32 undercovertte?
Hi there Cry Baby Loc R! I think the undercoverette is made by Charter. This revolver is one of the older Taurus guns in 327. The frame is basically an M85. Taurus is making them again but so far impossible to find.
Why single action
The gun was still very new to me on its first trip to the range. Trying to be accurate and mostly nervous about shooting the chrono. 😅 Thanks for watching and commenting!
I wasn't aware .32acp could be fired out of that gun...I knew the other rounds were okay...
Hi Petunia! 32 is my favorite caliber to collect. One of the reasons is this cross compatibility with ammunition. Most dismiss it as underpowered but the magnums and modern defensive 32ACP rounds are plenty capable. Thanks for watching!
You need moon clips for 32acp
