@@stevennguyen2099 Just purchased the 90D recently. I bought and returned an EOS R prior to getting the 90D. I'll be opening the 90D today. I plan to record talking head videos, product reviews, and vacation footage.

They don't need to come to channels like this to watch some Canon camera review knowing perfectly well they will crap on Canon with typical lame comments like Canon came out with a 3 year old camera 3 years late, etc. The truth of the matter is there are still a lot of situations and indeed people who would still prefer to use DSLRs, for example stills only shooters who enjoy shooting dogs and wildlife with big zooms like myself. I would like to see them slapping on a Sigma 150-600mm on a Sony A6400 or the latest A6600. That would be a horrible and massively unbalanced setup in my opinion. Plus now with the 90D, Canon leads the resolution game in this price segment with 32.5 megapixel, not even the just announced Sony A6600 has that. Then, they say but, but I am getting the Sony A7R IV. Oh good for you, it is only 3 times the price of the 90D that's all. LOL.
@@Rascallucci Compareing the 2 a6600 & Canon 90D the problem here that people are not seeing is a6600 has improved specs but going deep into internal specs it loses by alot against the 90D especially the price point the a6600 has a old chip 24 mega pixels where the 90D has a newer chip still the 90D-isaster I'm planning to buy it anyway from a 80D user. Thanks for the review, great job!!
Hopefully the next RP gets the performance of these new 32MP bodies. They could probably do that easily with a firmware update, seems to be a software limitation or intentional crippling and not a processor/hardware issue.
It is a sensor readout issue. That 26 MP full frame sensor is a slow readout, low DR PoS. This explains the higher burst rate of EOS R (4-5 fps) , Canon M50 (~7-8 fps) and the Canon M6ii (14 fps) using the same Digic 8 processor.

Thank you. How is ISO noise at 3200-6400? I’ve read it’s a bit high with the 90D. I really want to try the 90D for 75% stills but am concerned about what I’ve read relative to ISO noise showing up early.
Anything over 3200 is going to be pushing it for any APSC cameras. Typically a FF camera will give you workable 6400ISO images but you also need to pair it with wide aperture lenses which are more expensive for full frame
I'd say get the 90D. It's better built, more professional, and has a bigger lineup of lenses as well as the ability to upgrade to full frame much easier if you ever decide to get even more into photography
if i am using the 90d for vlogging and mainly indoor crossfit videos, which lens would you think fit my need the most? also as my first lens....thank you
Definitely look at the Tamron 10-24: bhpho.to/2OrSwoy. Ideally you would want a wider aperture for indoors but doing that will raise the cost FAST. At least this is pretty wide with image stabilization
Not really but the lenses matter a little. They both have the same quality images from the camera but the 90D has more expensive lens options that could help produce better quality but only if you are willing to spend $1000+ on extra lenses. Otherwise get the M6 which has some awesome lenses under $500
So they will both offer the same quality so it depends more about lenses (since they have different mounts), and size/ergonomics. I would get the M6II if you are looking for a casual camera that just takes great photos or get the 90D if you are getting into photography as a profession/passion
It's definitely softer than what Sony, Fuji, and Panasonic are doing. Good enough for most people but a side by side comparison would show a big difference
I suggest that Canon wants you to buy their Optically Stabilized lenses first of all and though others now make optical stabilized lenses such as Tamron and Sigma, most will opt for Canon IS lenses. Optically stabilized lenses add to the cost but not hugely. Personally the diminutive size of the M series cameras make me crazy as my hands are big and the tiny controllers and so forth of any small camera is a problem for me. I would suggest ... size does matter. I think that the full frame alternatives to these cameras is another path to consider and the EOS system adapted to the R camera adds another direction and consideration one needs to think about. The M is a narrow and questionable optical path to invest heavily in unless the lightness and good quality package is a needed attribute. Realize the 90 D is really not much different in size and weight from a full frame camera. Much to consider in this time of transitions.
How important and bad does the absent of 24fps is? Does it make the 120fps slow mo won't work because it's 5 times slower? Or is it just pure personal preference? Noob here.. thanks if answered ✌️ #askingtherealquestion #notbeingsarcastic
Hi ! Nice vid. I Like this Channel. Should I switch my canon 6DMk2 ( 28Mpixels ) for a canon 90D (32Mpixels ) talking about image quality ( just image quality ) Because sometimes I have to crop and zoom my images of far away subjects ( Aps-c 1.6 looks much bette to avoid cropping a lot dfor the final image)
@@learningcameras I use Canon L serie Lenses 24-70mm IS USM2 f/2.8 and 70-200mm IS USM f/2.8. I plan to get a Sigma Art asap. My goal is to have the bets image as possible ( even with a *2 multiplicator to avoid cropping or a 100-400 mm ? )
Awesome video, you have yourself a new subscriber. Would you recommend the 90D for wildlife? Or is there anything else in this price bracket that I should be considering? P.s. I am not tied into any brand/system at the moment.
Thank you so much!!! So I would recommend the 90D for wildlife but it isn't significantly better than other cameras so there may be other options like the Nikon D500 and new Sony A6600 maybe if you are trying to stay under $1500
So basically the 90D has a "mirrorless mode" aka Live View that allows you to use the camera just as a mirrorless camera so in some ways, the 90D is the best of both worlds. The only limitation is if you are using live view, you cannot use the viewfinder on the 90D...just the screen.
@@walkkwithhme So it does use EF-S or EF lenses on the 90D. Canon will be switching to RF lenses for everything in the future but Canon already has all the lenses you can ever need for the 90D. But yes, if AFTER the 90D you eventually got a mirrorless Canon camera, the lenses you already own will only work with adapters or you would need to get new lenses
@@walkkwithhme Definitely if you want to future proof yourself with lenses, the RP will be the way to go. However in a few ways, the 90D is actually a better camera...it's faster, has better video...things like that. So if you just plan on buying 1-2 lenses, the 90D might be fine. But if you plan on stepping in to a future proof system and getting more than 1-2 lenses, the RP would future proof you there
Nope, but it's not possible to do that with a DSLR so not really canon's fault. One of the advantages of mirrorless technology is the ability to stabilize the sensor
@@learningcameras That's not true. There's absolutely no technical reason in the body stabilization tech can't be put into a DSLR. Canon simply chooses to force you over to mirrorless to get it. It only marketing tactics. And it is Canon's fault for deliberately keeping it out of DSLRs because they want to pump up the sales of their lackluster mirrorless offerings.
Well, it's never been done before. I think it would be extremely difficult to have a floating sensor mechanism along with a mirror without them hitting but who knows. I'm actually a mech engineer but have never designed cameras so no clue
@@learningcameras I'm not a mechanical engineer, I'm an electrical engineer, but I've seen footage of these sensors, they don't move so far that they'd come into contact with the mirror which sits up away from the sensor at a 45 deg angle. Most DSLR's have a "mirror lockup" feature, and it gets used when in "Live View" mode. It's not a technical problem as to why Canon hasn't put it in the DSLRs.
The 90D does shoot 24fps in FHD with the MOV file format, no MOV in 4K, and thus no 24fps in 4K. Don't trust me, go to Canon.com EOS 90D specifications under video shooting. Why is everyone getting this wrong? Is it hidden in a menu somewhere?
I was thinking about that only..most ppl shooting short films using the 80d including me, shoot in 24 fps...it will be idiotic if they omit it.Also I think the all i mode is not there like the 80d,which is another big disappointment.
@@mylifecliched Well, i spoke too soon. A few people commented and said they could not find the reference I made. At 10Et, I was on canon.com and the specifications looked pretty good. There were two video formats .MOV and MP4. .MOV had ALL-I for two frame rates - 29.97 and 23.97. Same as the 70D. All MP4 resolutions used IPB with no 23.97 option. At 16h00, I refreshed the specifications page. Canon replaced the sheet I was looking at with a new one. No option for MOV, no option for All-I, and no option for 23.97. I am a little stunned, how can canon provide inferior video options to that of the 70D. I don't care about the container, but IPB??? and no 23.97? I'll probably wait to see what the Sony A7Siii, and look for a used 80D in the meantime.
I can't find it, it didn't shown any MOV format in the video specs in canon.com, only MP4 format. Could you please show me the exact information about it?
Simon D Yates It was originally in the specs but Canon made the “executive” decision to remove 24fps from this camera at the last minute. Poor decision on their part. Camera sales will decline even worse for them going forward.
The 90D looks like a decent upgrade from my 70D finally, not some minor incremental upgrade like the 77D and 80D. One minor little nitpick is they still haven't added native GPS tagging. How old is that tech now?? But the price is good, and if they'd left out the 4K video and offered it at a lower price like the M6's, that certainly wouldn't have hurt my feelings. Heck, everyone I know that's into - and knows how to shoot great video - uses an actual video camera (crazy, I know!), not a hand held DSLR, so not sure why 4k video was an absolute "must have" in the 90D. I'm glad Canon hasn't totally abandoned the DSLR completely... yet. I'll have to snag one, as it sounds like the last of the line for this line of Canon DSLRs - unless they borrow a page from the 77D and offer a 99D later. Who knows, maybe that one will have the GPS tagging! haha

Definitely look at the Tamron 10-24: bhpho.to/2OrSwoy. Ideally you would want a wider aperture for indoors but doing that will raise the cost FAST. At least this is pretty wide with image stabilization
sir for photography only which one do you suggest?if there is a better camera than these two in this price range please suggest...
Not really but the lenses matter a little. They both have the same quality images from the camera but the 90D has more expensive lens options that could help produce better quality but only if you are willing to spend $1000+ on extra lenses. Otherwise get the M6 which has some awesome lenses under $500
@@learningcameras thank you sir for your suggestion.
Dan on the M6 how much battery life can you get if your shooting 1080p. Plus what is the 1080p quality like. I know the R 1080 is very good.
I went through 2 full batteries in a day of shooting but I don't know exactly how long it lasts shooting solid video non stop
It is said that some lenses don't work well on canon 90d because of its sensor with 32.5 MP. Is this true?
That just means that crappy lenses will show their horribleness a bit more. With 32MP, if a lens isn't sharp or has issues, you will notice
@@learningcameras Thanks.
Which one is for me? Which one has 24fps video?
Fly Guy For sure not the 90D. Canon removed it. Big mistake.
The 80D
hey Dan, does the 90d have a Dual autofocus in 4K without crop? thanks.
It absolutely does
I do photography 70% and video 30%, between eos rp and 90d which you recommend for me? Please answer. Thx
So they will both offer the same quality so it depends more about lenses (since they have different mounts), and size/ergonomics. I would get the M6II if you are looking for a casual camera that just takes great photos or get the 90D if you are getting into photography as a profession/passion
what about the 4K quality? Is it soft? is the like 1080p upscaled? Can you compare it to Sony's 4K, oversampled from 6K? Thanks :)
It's definitely softer than what Sony, Fuji, and Panasonic are doing. Good enough for most people but a side by side comparison would show a big difference
@@learningcameras pls compare it! at least against Sony...so there are no buyers remorse moments after! Thanks
I suggest that Canon wants you to buy their Optically Stabilized lenses first of all and though others now make optical stabilized lenses such as Tamron and Sigma, most will opt for Canon IS lenses. Optically stabilized lenses
add to the cost but not hugely.
Does any of these cameras have in body image stabilization? And is there a recording limit for videos??
Neither have in body stabilization and I'm not sure on the record limit
Late to the game here, but recording limit will be 29:59 at a time. They can’t go above that without branding as a camcorder.
So I wouldn't trade as the 6D2 still has a bit better low light performance. What lenses are you using? Perhaps a lens upgrade would be better
@@learningcameras I use Canon L serie Lenses 24-70mm IS USM2 f/2.8 and 70-200mm IS USM f/2.8. I plan to get a Sigma Art asap. My goal is to have the bets image as possible ( even with a *2 multiplicator to avoid cropping or a 100-400 mm ? )
how is the low light performance of 90d?
It is equal between the 2 cameras but check out my review of them for the low light test!
The M6ii is overlooked as a street camera kinda like a Ricoh GR but better!
I can't believe there's no 24p
what's the difference between 24p & 25p?!!
There is one extra frame per second in 25p 😁
@@hankfink5412 Can you change the American film industry for me?
Canon is doing a firmware upgrade that will have 24p by the end of October into November.
The firmware has been released. I installed it and now have HD and 4K 24p
Awesome video, you have yourself a new subscriber. Would you recommend the 90D for wildlife? Or is there anything else in this price bracket that I should be considering? P.s. I am not tied into any brand/system at the moment.
Thank you so much!!! So I would recommend the 90D for wildlife but it isn't significantly better than other cameras so there may be other options like the Nikon D500 and new Sony A6600 maybe if you are trying to stay under $1500
Does the M6 have a build in flash?
Yes
Hi what's the lens on the 90D please ?
The Canon 17-55mm F2.8
Is it feasible to mount m6 evf on d90 hotshoe?
Nope, tried it and the 90D doesn't have the pins
Why would i need to buy 90D as everyone changing to mirrorless ? Please tell me.
So basically the 90D has a "mirrorless mode" aka Live View that allows you to use the camera just as a mirrorless camera so in some ways, the 90D is the best of both worlds. The only limitation is if you are using live view, you cannot use the viewfinder on the 90D...just the screen.
@@learningcameras but 90 will be using EFS lenses right, once world moved to EF-M lens, we wont be able to use 90D"s lenses without the adapter.
@@learningcameras So safe move will be Canon RP right? For now.
Budget full frame and a bridge to future.
@@walkkwithhme Definitely if you want to future proof yourself with lenses, the RP will be the way to go. However in a few ways, the 90D is actually a better camera...it's faster, has better video...things like that. So if you just plan on buying 1-2 lenses, the 90D might be fine. But if you plan on stepping in to a future proof system and getting more than 1-2 lenses, the RP would future proof you there
Does the 90D have in body stabilization ?
Dean Lopez the reason they don’t do it, is because you wouldn’t see the image you are taking through the viewfinder, if you had ibis
Camera sales will decline even worse for them going forward.
my.life.cliched! They omitted it st the last minute. No 24fps. Bad move on their part.
Who knows, maybe that one will have the GPS tagging! haha
I think they just do GPS tracking through your phone. So if you connect your phone to the camera via bluetooth, it will transmit GPS data
Great review . Please educate us about the appropriate Canon lenses for wide , portrait , telephoto , street and travel for the 90 D . Please also include 24-105 mm and 50 mm lenses in your review . I have found that many you tubers also explain about the trinity of lenses , so please clarify on these issues as well. I am thinking to buy Canon 90 D but as a beginner I don't have much detail knowledge on the various categories of Canon lenses .
It depends what you are going to shoot. The 24-105mm is a great starter lense. My favourite lense is a f1.4 85mm prime. I focus my photography on portraits and mid shots.
@@Velldog Thank you so much for your valuable response.
90d or EOS R???????????????
Eos R. It's a solid upgrade in image quality and Canon is going to be going all in with the R system so might as well adopt
There aren't links to the camera specific videos in the desc as you said at the start. Great video otherwise!
RIP 80D WELCOME 90D NEED TO SALE 80D NOW
🤪
I was intrigued by the idea of a 32MP cropped sensor, but there is nothing about these cameras that lives up to the promise of the sensor.
90d ❤️
Thank you 👍
wait... I could've sworn the Canon 90d can shoot 1080p in 120 fps. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes but without dual autofocus and audio
@@duvedistudio2220 thanks bro

I got the message 😏 I stay with my canon 80d
@Craig Willisthat camera is way too late way too late the only difference between the 80d and the 90d is 10 megapixel only 10 if you not planning in doing big printing 24 megapixels is totally fine, am going to buy one of the Sony cameras that eye auto focus is sick, I highly recommend you get one of the sigma art series my god amazing I got the 50mm art and the 18-35 art sweet baby jesus the images that come out of that 80d
@Craig Willis I'm guessing for the price range one of the sony a6000 series. Maybe the a6400, a6500, or a6600
@@wilfri14 i guess with the new firmware upgrade incoming the focus will be at par with Sony's. Plus the 24fps as well
@@wilfri14 That's where you are very wrong mate I have owned two 80D cameras!. The 90D is on a whole new level for Canon I sold my 6Dii for the 90D & it's fantastic!.
Awesome! I'll wait for some more camera releases from Canon then. 😂
Tbh, I'm not looking for a new camera at all - still using the old 6D until a compelling upgrade from Canon is released. I suppose I'll have to wait a few more years before I get what I want, if ever.
R5 is announced
They dose not support 24fps and ALL-I.
No 4k 30 is a bummer
It has 4k 30. Doesn't have 4k 24
You know what sucks? When a stills photographer watches a comparison video about 2 cameras he's considering and the channel is about shooting videos.
😂😂😂
I love canon 90 d i think i will buy
For me bigger is better especially in the camera world.
None for me....
Fair enough. Been testing the new Sony cameras all week. Should have my video done soon!
Dan Watson i would greatly appreciate if you can truly test that IBIS. If it s the same no use for video kind of ibis I will just grab an a6400 and call it the day
So unfortunately it looks like the IBIS is the same as the a6500 so not all that good
Good review, no mirrorless bias nonsense
Why on earth did you shoot video in portrait mode? It's not a flippin´cell phone!
My wife was shooting portraits not video and I was capturing everything she was seeing. She was shooting the portraits in portrait mode not landscape
Wait, let me count the number comments from self entitled snowflakes who want $5000 features in a $1200 camera who are soooo disappointed....suck it up buttercups, you might be the most vocal and Snively, but there are way more who like the price point with this level of features.
Peter jackson?
Lol
Haha jokes apart, good job man! Keep it up!
Thanks Ares!!!
Canon D90 Photo “IBIS” 🤮
None. Get Sony. Patience ran out with these canon fellows.
Lol "2019" a6100 and a6600 has the same old 24 mp sensor, usb 2.0, 1 slot uhs 1, bad ergos and menus, expensive, poor touchscreen and tilting only. Go with sony fanboi we dont care 😂
