From July 1992, Charley Pride & Glen Campbell sing the Marty Robbins song "El Paso", with just Glen's guitar, at the Crosby Clambake in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
I was a member of a country club Mr. Pride was a member of. He was so damn funny. You could ask him about any song he recorded, he would remember the place, date and everyone who played on that recording. THEN he would bust out and sing the song note for not. What a blast it was to play golf with him.
I love listening to Charlie pride morning and at night before I go to bed it reminds me of when my parents were younger and my mom is still alive and Mississippi and she enjoys the music every night too God bless they're the best Charlie is the best we're going to miss a lot of our great musicians this year thank you I
Nu my parents are fortunate that they got to go see the Grand ole opry with my aunts and uncles that are now passed away except for my mom that lives in Mississippi Charlie you're the best I think my father's day is got happier and happier when he went to the Grand ole opry after being in the military for 30 years God bless p

And I was happy to see in a recent "Rolling Stone" interview that Charley said about Marty: “He’s one of the five artists that I give tribute to in my show. I love them all, but he was one of the first that took me out on the road. He was so funny all the time. He was just good to me. So it’s not only that this song jumped out to me, but it was also thinking about how good he was to me and how I loved his singing and him as a person.”

Love both of these singers. Possessed of distinct and unique voices however, I had doubts about a duet between the two, especially with El Paso. But they surprised me and executed it nicely. Ebony and Ivory with a country touch. Well done and Godspeed me brothers, heaven must sound sweeter than ever.
wow bobby weir should've did a duet with either of these 2 genius performers..... thank you mom and dad for giving me the greatest music of your life... and I was born in 62 and these artists are timeless.... good bye to the USA as we once in knew it.....

Thanks so much for posting this. Two wonderful singer/entertainers paying tribute to Marty Robbins. It was mooted at one time that Charley would do a full album tribute to Marty and Jim Reeves, but while the Reeves album was released, there was sadly no Robbins one. Shame about that.
