That's nice that your GPS actually keeps up. My GPS and video file is almost 2 whole seconds off of eachother, and there is no way in the app or studio to fix it that i've found.
2 different things that nobody talks about is each time you start & stop recording, it resets the GPS data. This in and of itself isn't too big of an issue, until you try to record a longer trip. The X3 automatically stops recording at 29 minutes, saves the file, and will then start a new file. So if your trip is 35 minutes, you will end up with 2 clips (with a 10-15 second gap between the 2 clips), and the GPS data will be reset for the 2nd file.
Is there a need for this when you can link up the x3 to an iPhone via the app? Not trying to come across negative just wondering if it would be worth buying one
im about to buy a gps remote…because just having the phone and x3 connection isn’t good enough, mine still wont pickup the live speed and gps data it just shows 0mph the whole time and I’m doing everything they recommend
I’m trying to do some Streetview uploads and have found that some of the GPS points along the way are not in the right place. Is the action remote much better in terms of gps accuracy? I know it also has glonass Sat compatibility.
So if i turn on the camera and the remote is in my backpack it reconnects automatically without touching the remote? (for skiing for example. I just need the gps data)
HELLO, I think I have a problem with my action remote and my Insta360 ONE RS, it seems it doesn't remember the pairing setup, if I turn the remote off after pairing with my camera when I turn it back on, it shows again the "setting" icon and force me to "pair new"... that's very annoying, I think this is not how it should be... can you please help? Thanks....
Anyone know if the GPS signal sent to the camera will attach the GPS data to every image EXIF file when using the timelapse function while creating Google Street View style maps?
Thanks! I take a long time editing out the bs. Lol. And I’m not 100% sure but I have left them linked in standby mode for a while a couple times. Pretty sure it was on for at least 30 minutes while I took lunch at a track event recently. I think it’ll go until the batteries get low.
I am testing the product with my X3 camera and to my surprise I find that the camera can be activated and start recording from the control when it is turned off. However, when we click the control again, the camera stops recording, but it does NOT turn off!!! This is very bad, since the camera keeps on and drains the battery. Is it so or am I wrong?
I was taking a look at this accessory ,I was thinking can't you do this stuff with the phone app ,maybe it's more important to get a spare battery or something else ,what's the advantage your seeing countering what i'm saying being that you own one and I don't
I bought the remote controll because it is said on their website that it can control up to 3 cameras. This got confirmed by Insta360 support at first. So I bought 3 INSTA360 ONE RS cameras just to find out that: Yes, you can connect up to 3 cameras to the remote control. And the remote can shut all 3 cameras off. BUT it can only re-start one of them (the last one which was connected to the remote). So for me that means that this is completely useless, as I need to be able to to controll all 3 cameras including turning them off and on again, which does not work. Which also got confirmed by Insta360 support once I filed a ticket with technical support why 2 of 3 cameras won't wake up... The thing that me annoys the most is that they advertise that up to 3 cameras are supported, but nobody tells you that you can't wake them up...
The gps data overlay was an app function without the remote. Older reviews showed the function in the app. And the phone app has bt remote wakeup for the x3. However, i can wakeup the x3 with my phone but there’s no gps data as of yet. Still testing. For now the remote is too expensive. Perhaps later when i want the gps data overlay.
Thats a shame that X3 doen´t have a built in gps and you have to buy an accessory for this. Such a great camera without this feature. GoPro have this since Hero5.
DO NOT BUY if you own a one R. It is completely USELESS. It pairs fine and wakes up the camera and gets stuck at "awakening camera" after it wakes up the camera. Then it goes into "camera disconnected". Tried multiple solutions but nothing works. I regret buying the remote and have to control the camera manually. Amazing hardware and video quality let down by the USELESS remote.

I want to add GPS overlay in my 360 video live stream or want to show strava app running anywhere during video...Can it be done?0

Awesome. I use the remote. I found it sometimes looses connection with the camera while recording. And when I go to edit. The gps data is not there.

Hi, thanks for the video... I`ve got a question: and how to export 360 videos (not flat, reframed) with GPS Stats?? Thanks in advance.
Great vid. Covers a lot without all the bulshit. In standby mode - how long does the camera and remote stay on before it turns off entirely?
Thanks! I take a long time editing out the bs. Lol.

You actually can turn on the camera with the remote if you enable it in the camera settings. Nice video 🥰
That's very important, nice.
Love that "track" music.
What about 2 cameras at the same time?

I sent remote back to Amazon as it constantly loses connection. If I need gps data I’m using Apple Watch and it does keep connecting all the time.

Can't you do the same thing by recording from the phone?
Does it also display the g-force?
All the vloggers seem to love this thing but I can’t even get mine to fully connect to my X3. Its nuts.
Is using the remote better than just using your phone?

Does the remote show speed on screen?
The small wrist band is to attach to selfie stick ;)
How long is battery life ? can it stays ON for like 10 hours ? thanks
I got a full track day out of it a couple months ago. That was with hitting record a lot, and I think it was around 6 hours.
Will magnet 🧲 mess up GPS signal ??😮

Video are good like always sir.
Thanks!! ☺️
How often is GPS data updated?
Every time you press record, and stops while not recording. Data only gets recorded to the video file.
@@RobRabonPhotog No. At what frequency per second gps positioning is recorded in the file. 0.5-1-5-10 hertz?
Oh. Gotcha.
No idea on that one. Pretty sure they have a spec sheet on their site.
Is the remote waterproof
Yes! It’s waterproof up to 5 meters deep (about 15feet).
Yes. However, be mindful of the interference on GPS signals from the density of water.
In a shallow snorkeling situation, should be no problem.
Cheers for reply, as long as it will survive the rain on the handlebar of my motorcycle in Scotland I'm happy
@@phillipdavid1668 Same, in Thailand. I hit some serious rain in the hills.
Thanks for the information
Yo imma hook this up for my Uber whip Lmao
My X3 already does this along with the new powered selfie stick..

I’ll rather use my iphone to start and stop recording.
