I own a pre-facelift Formentor. I wasn’t a huge fan of the facelift on the Formentor, found it a downgrade on the first gen. But on this larger scale, the new generation Cupra look works really nicely. The VZ trims with the sporty Golf R powertrain are going to be phenomenal. Can’t wait till they start to pop up in the UK!
I had the seat cupra estate 300 bhp 4 drive just before the rebadge it was a great car one of my favourite to drive. The only issue I have with Cupra once seat ! Is the premium pricing with too much hard and scratchy plastics. It just feels a little cheap compared to the golf R and GTI sisters. I know this car does not rival the mentioned but they all feel too cheap for the price inside, they need to up the game for premium prices. Good cars but not premium yet !
My Skoda still had Audi stamps in the engine casing, albeit from the previous generation Audi equivalent. Same with stickers put over the top of the plastics. Pity my VW didn't. It seemed lower quality than my Skoda
0-60 6 secs. Vag need to put bigger engines in these big suvs...they just keep using the golf engine in everything. Why not use the rs3 engine or the 3 ltr tdi engine out the sq5.
@@paulklp8262 to be honest, tiguan is a family suv and this guy is right. cupra should have stronger options, because if not even cupra doesn't get strong engines, then which car except audi? i guess their strategy is to just give us nicer looks but with the same car and then ask for more money.
Somet time ago I went to see how Cupra Formentor looks live and inside is pretty bad. It looks very low quality compared to Mazda for example. The wheel looks cheap. I see here it looks same.
The 150ps with DSG in any VW, Skoda, Cupra, Seat, is the worst combination ever, lethargic, slow to pull away, changes to the next gear before any power develops unless you mash the throttle, you need to drive it sport mode to get anywhere. Maybe they fixed this with the hybrid system.
It sounds like you haven't learnt how to drive them. Nothing 'lethargic' about mine in Normal mode. The system learns your driving style and adapts. Coming from a diesel I was a little concerned at first, but I soon learned where and how to drive it and it's been great since. I've never missed the diesel really.
@@23DuDe It's bad, my wife hated it, my mate hates his Q2 and my other mate hates his Cupra with it. Once you drive something better, you don't want to go back.
@iain8837 I'd hate a Q2 too. But I've had lots of Skoda's, VWs, Audi's over the years (mixed with lots of other brands too) and never had an issue with any of them... Certainly not like you're describing. Having said that, I don't get the lowest powered version of anything so don't have to deal with crap performance. But in all honesty, I've found no issue with them and I highly recommend them and have enjoyed driving mine when I had them. I wouldn't say they were any worse than the Beemers or Mercs I've owned, and have better performance than Lexus. In fact if I think back through all the cars I've owned over the last 10-15 years, I'd say Skodas and VWs would be my pick depending on the vehicle type. The only exception I have with VW is the current Amarok. Give me the old model any day.
@@23DuDe Sounds more like a humble brag response rather than anything useful. A DSG is certainly not required in something with 110kW or any non performance vehicle. My wife had an Octavia and the DSG blew up after 110,000km without warning and certainly was very jerky at low speeds in that application. My old 2010 Jetta 147 Highline, different story. MkVi GTI engined, the DSG was excellent and proved my point as being the perfect application for a performance type vehicle.
