    I have a wooden walking stick I wanted to use for hiking but I ended up needing it more for my health. But it would be nice to know how to defend myself with it if needed. But it's shorter that these bows, I'm 5'5 and it comes up to my shoulders. Could I use this tutorial or should I search something else?

    Where would one buy a staff for this? Any Home Depot or Lowe’s or is there a better place?

    I found a great, flexible Bo staff on Amazon. It is reasonably priced too! amzn.to/2WghieH

    Ok ok here is my serious comment, when attacking with the staff, you need to keep distance because all the power is in the end of the staff, if your opponent steps in it won't hurt. It's the same with kicks, when you kick all the power is in the lower part of the foot. If your opponent manages to hold your staff it simply means you got to close to him and you;re too slow.

      PadMAD3k good advice! Do you train with the Chinese spear?

    • @padmad3k63
      @padmad3k63 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They don';t have it in Wing Chun, The only weapons they have in Wing Chun is the dragon pole and the butterfly knives. But their techniques are very different to what you see on TH-cam, they'll really hit you with the end of the pole as in a stabbing movement. I think you can use those techniques with a spear, but the form of it is for advanced students only and it's very hard.
