Omg this is GORGEOUS!! Ive been trying to achieve this for 20yrs. A lot of stylists I've been to seem hesitant to take me that blonde, and cant even count how many times I've had orange tones🤢🍊 had a few times an almost there look but never the wow factor like your video. Zero stylists skills here, just got sucked into your amazing talent and watched the entire thing. Made notes for reference. ❤❤ Thank u for sharing, you are amazing at what you do!
This is THE BEST hair coloring tutorial I have ever seen. Your info is very good. Incredibly grateful for the terminology explanations by context and the sharing of your technique as for the reason of how you tailor your work to suit her individual needs. Thank you ❤
Thank you so much ❤️ I love reading reviews like this on my videos. I try to be as clear & cohesive as possible. My mission is to give my clients their desired results to the best of my ability.
Love the hair absolutely beautiful , i just wish we could start seeing the rest of the hair result that we watch from beginning to end , like what it looks like on the sides and underneath when the hair moves. We only ever see just the top layer nothing else ,yet its pointed out why shes doing these techniques , Just be lush to se full result 😊
Watching your technique has changed my mind completely about doing my hair myself, thank you. Your technique looks flawless. I love that you separate an 1/8 of a piece and then half that again and then weave. I am going to try. I’m not really sure what you mean by a pivot but I am all about the separating and weaving you’ve done
Horizontal for the top (like how u did it) is so underrated. I take paper thin subsections then slice-skip-slice, so like 3-4 weaves with a teensy amt of natural in btw each foil. The result is an impactful sheet of blond when it falls. If I do it w a vertical Mohawk I have to spend the time thin weaving and placing them back to back, w no hair in btw to get that look and nobody got time for that 😅!
i’m a new stylist and omg this video has really help me understand the placement and how to highlight without necessarily over foiling! Thank you Mirella!
Timing all depends on not only your experience, but the hair you are working with. If your client has thick hair it’s going to take you longer, than if your client has fine hair. This technique, foiling alone, takes me about 45min -1 hour.
This video is very good . I need to watch more videos like this to improve, because I'm going to start in a luxury salon and I need to show my knowledge.
Super helpful and gorgeous result!❤❤❤ I am a slow foiler and this looks like it will definitely help me to get more time efficient. How long should this application normally take? Thank you so much Mirella!😊
Hello mirella. I just got a highlight kit and my moms gonna do this procedure on me. Loved the video. Hopefully it turns out pretty. Much love from India🇮🇳.
Thank you! You da best! Less time consuming than an entire head of little tiny baby lights. 😩 Sorry, I accidentally hit dislike on my remote last time. Like the sectioning too!l Liked your money piece tutorial and was wondering how to incorporate it into a full or partial head highlight.
Thank you for your comment. I personally would section out the money piece as I do in my money piece video and then address the sides going horizontal all the way up. Hope this helps
You are SUCH an amazing resource. I've watched your videos since maybe 2021 and recently started cosmetology school. I am so grateful for your techniques so I can start my career with a wealth of knowledge. I hope to go to one of your live classes one day xxx Seattle please
I still highlight the mohawk traditionally because the head is round and foil are rectangular. That means I get closest to the root in the middle of the foil, the edges are further away. When I tried doing the part sideways a few areas close to the face framing weren’t as neat and coming right out of the scalp as I get from a mohawk, you get what I mean? 😂
I really love the way you did the Mohawk section! I had a stylist leave me with the stripes and I hated it so much I ended up coloring over it and just keeping the blonde in the bangs area for a lil "Rogue" moment (I was so scarred from several bad experiences....now I just do my own hair) 😅
@@MirellaManelliwhy do they charge more for balayage then than highlights? When I got a balayage they did this exact same thing, only difference was they teased the hair and skipped sections in between. Other than that, exactly the same but it took 2-3 hours. Even though the end result (in my opinion) was a highlight style not really the “balayage” I was looking for. Still looked okay though. I could still live with it.
Hey this is amazing the placement is so handy and simple you really thought about everything! I have a question bcs I never do a root smutch a client of mine always wants a traditional highlight that makes her really bright can I do your placement without doing the root smutch? Thankyou so much and I really enjoyed this video ❤️🫶🥰
Just watched this for the first time. Love your videos. So helpful. Quick question about highlighting the top. Do you go up to the part line on one side then the other? If so, do you do a couple of back to back right at the part? Also, just a comment. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the crown placement. 😂
Watch the follow up video for this technique, answering a ton of your questions on this thread th-cam.com/video/yaa4WOGaFtg/w-d-xo.html

At the end of the day, it’s all about making the clients that sit in my chair feel happy and beautiful ❤️
I've only been highlighting the mohawk sec as you have and it's such a game changer! It comes out so beautiful, every time. Thank you Mirella!
Thank you so much! I love highlighting for blend vs stripes.

Beautiful highlights! You explain things very well. 37 years in and always learning!
I appreciate that!
I’am 55 years in and still learning! The reverse foiling on the nape area using the head as a support, great tip.
This is beautiful! As a beginner, I feel very discouraged by my timing. How long does something like this supposed to take?
I have the same question. I am also a beginning hairstylist.

Could you do a diagram of that back crown section pls ?
Thank you so much
Thank-u:Mirella(Happy New Year)♡*
Beautiful technique. Would have loved to see the foil pull in the sink to see all that work., It’s the best part!
If the client has gray hair to apply root color first or same technique as you did?
Great question! If they had gray to cover I would do this exact same technique because the SSE covers gray in 10 minutes.
Thank you
Fantastic technique’s! Thank u for sharing 💕
The part I needed to see the most was the part you skipped over…
What you need to know
i know right? what a bummer

It's the best video in foil highlighting. Is 10A using as toner?
Yes, 10A is my toner
Men are giving women more power
Love it can I ask what do you put on the ends
I'm from India i hiuse grand fan of you.. and i love your technique.. love you🌹🌹🤗🥰

I'm working on it. Thank you so much!
Can u do a video in like dying whole head blonde with like platinum blonde highlights?
I still highlight the mohawk traditionally because the head is round and foil are rectangular. That means I get closest to the root in the middle of the foil, the edges are further away. When I tried doing the part sideways a few areas close to the face framing weren’t as neat and coming right out of the scalp as I get from a mohawk, you get what I mean? 😂
That’s why they do a few foils parallel to the face in her face framing area..
@@doryexplory2029 yes but most of my clients want their part close to the root
Hola hermosa, soy estilista Méxicana y me encantaría ir a EU, y trabajar en tu salón 😊
Hi Merrill can you do chunkey brown and blom
Dope explanation 👍🏿👍🏿
I really love the way you did the Mohawk section! I had a stylist leave me with the stripes and I hated it so much I ended up coloring over it and just keeping the blonde in the bangs area for a lil "Rogue" moment (I was so scarred from several bad experiences....now I just do my own hair) 😅
So love the pink foils, don't think we've it here?!Or maybe it's only in salons!!Thnx for the highlight tips*!!!!
Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous!
Hey Mirella, I would like to know ;what do you want to explain by ; Blended into Demi 10A 1:2 9vol ? ( What is Demi ?)🙏🏻🕊
Never knew u can highlight light hair!
Her hair must grow crazy fast
thank you! loved how you explained everything :-) very inspiring!
Glad it was helpful!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Why do you come it thru instead of just. Using a tint brush
Did you do the same thing as 1, 2 sections on the 3, 4 sections from the back ?
Hello! Thank you for this technique i loved it! How long did it take you?
I believe this took me 4 hours. It' been awhile to remember.

Will it be a harder to life up next time after the darker shade?
Not at all! I answer more questions in this video th-cam.com/video/yaa4WOGaFtg/w-d-xo.html
Do you use a mask or conditioner on the ends..?
If I was wanting this at a hair dressing salon, what would I typically ask for exactly? :)
Hey Mirella!🤓
How many levels of loft can you get with the studio stylist color?😊
Up to 4.
Bello trabajos , desde cuba te veo
What if I put too much bleach on my money piece? Can I fix it by adding foil with light brown color? Reverse from blonde to brown highlights.
You could use the same foil placement and just skip the base break application.
Great video
Great video❤
Great education . ❤
I like ur work ❤️💖
Did you say you use mixed 20 volume developer on her root color?
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤Thank you so so much
You are so welcome ❤️ Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching!
When u put 7 and 8 then u camp all the way down.. did u washed the hair before u put 10 N ?
Great demonstration and tutorial . Always great 👍
How would you approach white/grey sideburns on a touchup?
I would treat them the same but use a base break or permanent shade between
Just watched this for the first time. Love your videos. So helpful. Quick question about highlighting the top. Do you go up to the part line on one side then the other? If so, do you do a couple of back to back right at the part?
Also, just a comment. I have a hard time wrapping my head around the crown placement. 😂
I maintain an equal amount of space between each foil but I ensure there is a highlight on the part by taking the tiniest zigzag part
@@MirellaManelli I did the crown placement today! 🤯 Gorgeous!!!
@@shaunacase752 thank you so much for sharing that! 🫶🏽🥰
