Raccoons will wreck a whole flock of chickens in a single night. You definitely don't want to be let them go if they're that close.

all the branches and limbs need to be burned or relocated and the whole area gets raked so its more like a park---I have done that and more deer, and raccoons still come around ..and will not have anywhere to hide

Coyotes are very smart and wiley. I had a trapper that worked my property for coyotes years back. He took every precaution to keep his scent away from his traps. When he pulled up on his traps to check them, he would roll out a tarp on the ground before even stepping out of his truck. He used rubber gloves while handling the traps and bait.

Farmers around here are working in the fields, making them run. My cousins (both women) are crazy, they caught a Coyote pup while out hunting asparagus. They put all over Facebook that they caught a baby fox. Everyone was saying, "Uh no that's not a fox" It's a wonder they didn't get attacked. Crazy!

I caught your video and heard the electric fence for. Minis. I’ve owned horses for years. A small pen is nice. Grass digests in their digestive track differently. Laminitis comes in many forms. Founder is severe. You can also invest in grazing muzzles. My horse wears one on a small grass area even if for a few minutes as he is insulin resistant. If I remember correctly there is also 52 plants that are toxic to horses. Horses will eat grass by the roots. So rotation is great. I’ve read storeys guide to feeding horses very good read. I would dispatch both the raccoon and the coyote if they get caught in your trap. If not, they will continue to try to catch and eat your chickens and ducks. Please be careful when any of you are out - Lyme disease is no joke and can be totally disabling. Enjoy your family in your videos😊

When setting up traps you have to wear gloves, foxes, coyotes and wolf are able to smell the human scent on traps, ropes, trees, bait.

You need those meat chickens Kevin’s kids (mainly Kaya) raised for 4H... nobody bonded with them, and lots of meat for the family ;) ... We live in the city of Richmond, Virginia... over an acre but restrictions:( My husband caught a bunch of racoons (some destroyed our roof, he was pissed), but he relocated them, not exactly legal but wth.

It takes a raccoon 15mins to travel a mile and they track back to their home. Trust me timed it, i was amazed! Goodluck ❤

Founder ( laminitis) is an inflammation of the inner layers of the hoofs, ( the laminae) in extreme cases, it can cause the coffin bone, ( a crescent shaped bone, that is one of the main bones of the foot) to rotate downward, and penetrate the sole of the foot, crippling the animal, while the causes of founder are many, eating too much green grass is one of them.

Raccoons cook up very nice, meat is a little dark but if cooked slowly over a fire they taste great. Always have them a our game club yearly game only dinner.

Start with a couple hours at first. My mini goes out on grass 4 acres with a big horse every other day. Gets hay every day 1 flake. Only a couple hours a day.

probably not in that trap. Raccoons are very intelligent animals and if this one was so angry, you can bet he won't be back in that one ever again.

If me I would have permanently removed the raccoon. And yes mini's are prone to founder on the new sweet spring grass. We even started our big horses on spring grass the same way, a hour or two each day for 4-5 days then added a hour or two every 4-5 days we also mowed the spring grass down once it was 8-12" tall to help get rid of the higher sugar content in that grass to help prevent the founder and possible colic issues (gas buildup). They will for sure the extra room to run around. Be sure they know what the hot wire is (we would wet their faces and make them touch the fence so they know what it was (wire electric fence with strips of cloth tied around it so they could see where it was).
