‘The Glassworker’ is a hand-drawn animated feature film directed by Usman Riaz and created by Mano Animation Studios.
It is the first hand-drawn animated feature from Pakistan and will release in 2023.
‘The Glassworker’ is an original story about young Vincent and his father Tomas, who run the finest glass workshop in the country and find their lives upended by an impending war in which they want no part. The arrival in their town of an army colonel and his young, talented violinist daughter, Alliz, shakes their reality and tests the relationship between father and son.
Based in Karachi, Pakistan, Mano employs a select group of talented artists. The team has built a collaboration network that extends to Malaysia, the Philippines, Japan, Peru, Argentina, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

As a glassblower myself, this looks very cool. The actual glass working parts looks very accurate, they've done their research.

For those who are complaining that why this ain't in Urdu . Let me tell that Pakistani release will be hopefully in Urdu . The footage is in English coz this was displayed at an international event. Even at 00:01 it clearly says that voice acting is placeholder so no need to be impatient. Previous trailers were in Urdu :)

Yeah. I got here from the demo reel/ trailer, and what I heard there definitely wasn't English, haha. So that was an interesting watch. 😀 And there's no way they won't make an Urdu dubbing, this is a Pakistani-made movie after all.

I had to go back and look at the market and food that you mentioned. I missed it the first time watching with my child. What is being cooked at 3:19? the glass animations are very good and very accurate.
The music is in league of its own, let alone the beautiful hand drawn animations. There is something adorable about films with good music in them, which makes them quite memorable, and makes you to watch them on-repeat, as I'm watching this video repeatedly...!!

About 5 years now. But keep in mind man we don't have an industry like japan. This is a small studio doing all the work. Plus due to covid everything slowed down. I hope this becomes successful and india also picks up on this genre. Subcontinent full of talented artists and yet we don't have any anime movies to our name. Its time to change this.
@@artsybt6015 we with Japan, co-produced & directed an anime film Ramayana in 1992, but since then not much progress have been done on this genre. Director Usman Riaz & his team have done an extraordinary job & hope they'll continue to do so. Kudos to them. There hardwork definitely will inspire the artists of subcontinent and bring a new wave to this.
