  • We are just a bunch of crappy wannabe dirtbike riders who love exploring single track. No we are not skilled, and we all should have training wheels...

    Great video! Still have a pair of 2017 recons. Such a tough little machine. Light enough to move if you need to, big enough to handle most trails. Throw a high lifter lift on, and some bigger tires and it’s perfect.

    We started with 2 Honda 250's and we made it through some serious stuff. We miss them we actually bought the one back it's a 2009 recon. It still kicks butt!!!

    I had one with a set of ITP Mudlite tires and it reall suprised me. A much more capable machine than it gets credit for. The only drawback i found was, being a tall guy (6'3"), it could feel a little bit uncomfortable when riding for a whole day. But i would own another one in a heartbeat.

    Did you need to do anything to the Recon to run at that altitude? I'm bringing one up to elk camp this year and will be running between 10-12k daily with maybe one or two fun trips up to 13. My previous experience around there is with a 700cc EFI machine. So a little different to say the least!

    I would love to have riding trails like this where I am. All public land in my area does not allow ATV'S or dirt bikes. The motorsport parks close by do not allow ATV'S. There are power lines, but they are so restricted now. I live in a rural area, but nobody will let you ride their land.

    Wish I'd never sold my 300 it was such a good light little bike and very reliable. But it was getting old and I figured I'd buy myself a new one got a 2021cfmoto 600 and happy with it but very heavy

      The little beer cruiser idea sounds like a bad one. I've seen SO many people killed on ATVs involving beer. Be safe and drink responsibly.

      I don’t try to impress anyone and I don’t try to keep up with the jones’.
      I love my recon.
      I’ve had one since the 90’s and I just bought a 2024 in January.
      It oughta last till I die.
      My old one still runs good.

    I had a 2020 Ranger 4X4 and I still have my 01 Recon. Rear tires make a huge difference in how it can climb. Put a nice set on the rear that will dig into the mud and sand, you wont regret it.

    All the 250 cc four wheelers,Honda,Yamaha,Kawasaki,Suzuki,and Polaris are tough enough to take on those trails with no difficulty. What I like about my Bayou 250 is that I can squeeze through tight spaces a 300 up cannot.

  • @jeremyhallam5392
    @jeremyhallam5392 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like to ride three wheelers in Taylor Park so I have no doubt that a Recon can be ridden just about anywhere you want to ride it.

    You flooring it going up the hill?

    • @TrialsDirtBike
      @TrialsDirtBike  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah it wont climb it on 2nd gear and I have to be in the revs for it to deliver its hp up that climb. Elevation robs a lot of power at 9k feet. its steeper than it looks on camera. You need momentum to do that climb, its impossible to "crawl" up it unless you have a 4wd atv.

    • @nighthawkj30A4
      @nighthawkj30A4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TrialsDirtBike so the Honda Recon is able to make up that serious terrain with a tiny 230cc engine. And 2wd well i say any other Atv in it class. Couldn’t be able to do what honda can. Tough little machine 🏎

      @@johnnyjohnson2942 in USFS and BLM eyes, these are trails per mvum maps. For instance, at 4:16 that is considered an 60>= OHV trail on our public lands. Thats how the maps have it, thats how officials have it. Dirt roads, in public lands are usually maintained by USFS and BLM officials, like the entrance of this video, but has a "trail marker" called 357.
