    What i learned.
    1. You can split the channel by right clicking on pattern space.
    2. You can directly use the kick from library.
    3. You can use F7 to load drum set into piano roll.
    4. You can color the mixer of same color as of channel rack by CTRL+L.
    5. You can change the FPC by using packs of drums.
    * This is kinda reminder (Noted )for myself what i learned .
    Thankyou @Inthemix

    To disable PDC(plugin delay compensation), do this:
    1. Open the Mixer
    2. Click on the top-left arrow
    3. Go to Plugin Delay Compensation
    4. Disable/uncheck "Automatic"
    5. Click on the clock icons in the mixer tracks
    6. Select 'Reset'
    7. That's it.

    • @twoHRdrive
      @twoHRdrive 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      could this result in delayed drums though? If PDC attempts to remove the delay, wouldn't disabling make it worse?

    Most FL tutorials on youtube seem to be all about EDM or hip hop, and I've learned tons from those videos, but I gotta say FL Studio is so underrated when it comes to making rock music, even metal. Like 100% electronic, yet can actually sound "real" and alive with tweaking the drums and guitar plugins etc.

    Perhaps its important to mention that you can play drums manually/live on your keyboard or controller by just hitting record while focus and midi control is on the sample you want to record the midi of. This is good to a get a more human unquantized feel. You can set loop record, overdub mode and set a start countdown to make recording easier.

    Hi!
    I have a question: Why do all the tutorial guys on YT n stuff NOT use the FPC? It seems to be the best method by far.
    You in fact CAN send FPC Pads to another channel, by clicking on it then in the top right corner, in the row under the folder symbol, you select the channel you want it to be put on to. So that's not a problem, really.
    Other than that, it seems to make everything easier. Layering is super easy. Having Samples behave naturally is easier (because hitting something with less velocity not only makes it more silent, other things change a lot too, so the overall sound is much different). It seems to be easier to organize. You can easily save you own "signature" drum patterns, like Fills you frequently use for example. All things both other mehtods don't seem to offer.
    I've worked with dragging samples into the playlist for the last 1 1/2 years, because the visual representation is way better than a pattern and it's easier to add variation.
    But recently, when i started making Metal again and not only electronic music, specifically the thing with the velocity became a HUGE problem. You can't have a metal track where every single drum hit has the same velocity; it needs to be humanized.
    I at first began using the Sampler and until recently dragging into the playlist, just because pretty much every tutorial i learned to use FL with did it like that. I can't remember one even mentioning the FPC, let alone actually using it.
    So i wonder: Why? Am i missing something bad about the FPC? Because almost everything seems better about the FPC, except visual representation, really.
    I understand that it's mostly personal preference, but NOT ONE tutorial channel i've watched more than 1 or 2 times using it makes me kinda suspicious.

    • @JimmiG84
      @JimmiG84 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Just another reason these tutorials are so great. They show all the ways you can do things, not just the one way the creator of the tutorial prefers to do them.
      I've used Reason and Studio One before and always relied on their drum machines (Redrum and Impact), so now when learning FL, using the FPC feels the most natural for me. It just makes sense to have all the drum related controls in one place and control them from the same MIDI clip. No need to split the MIDI into different tracks on the playlist, just create different patterns for different drum sections (which is exactly what I do in Reason and SO).

    TIP : To quickly rename a sample, double click the sample in the playlist to get the sample window, then press F2 on your keyboard. If using the channel rack, click to open the sample window, and press F2. Same for plugins on both mixer and channel rack.

    Using FPC/drum machine is a better approach as we can simply replace the samples in the kit at any time and the MIDI just works as-is with the new samples across the project giving more control. Plus, a drum machine gives a far more control on programming and sound designing the samples, layers, velocity, panning, volume, etc. A drum machine is technically a collection/array of samplers.
    Whereas with samples laid directly on the Playlist, if we want to change the sample of the kick with another sample in the project, we would be replacing all the instances of the kick samples manually.

    Great video! [I am an intermediate FL Studio user] . I use FPC almost all the time. Even though I have Shredder in Kontakt. I've never liked how Shredder doesn't label the kicks etc; FPC nicely does. I use the third method [FPC patterns] here; I agree that there's a lot of meat in doing that such as automation tracks.
