Just FYI it seems they turned down the offer after the show and went on to evolve the business into YR Live, who print custom merchandise at events around the world for brands like Levi's and Ralph Lauren, with 'make your own' custom T-Shirt stations and designs by award winning tattoo artists which you can get from shops in major cities. They now have offices in London, New York and Tokyo. Amazing they couldn't see the potential in this business!

I made similar homebrew tech back in the day. It's basically a stripped-down Nintendo Wii controller, an XBOX Kinect, and a generic screen, attached to a Windows XP device. The demo probably took an hour to code. Deb's "spray can" kept running out because she held it too close to the screen, and kept it pointed downwards, so the Kinect couldn't see the IR light from the Wii controller. You have to stand a couple of feet away for it to work and even then it's not a fun way to use a screen.

Isn't this basically a Smartboard projector? Which has already been invented for a long time, with an attached tray to store digital pens (and digital eraser brushes to swipe creations away), these of which are interpreted by the screen only via the "pressed" movement of them against it when drawing/writing, and is used in at least Canadian schools as far as I know. But ya, the spray can, which can actually be interpreted by the screen from even a distance like a remote control, is really the only unique selling point of the whole thing, and it should be made to become adaptable with all devices that already exist
Nah. Not only is this episode old, but their product works differently. From the wikipedia: "he can contains no paint, instead it has an IR light which is tracked by a computer vision system and the image immediately back-projected onto the wall." The fact that's is back-projected means that you don't have the same issues with a smart board, where it will cast a shadow and you can block out the projector when trying to use the board.
Then you're doing something very wrong, unless you have learning issues that make printed sources difficult. Still, I encourage you to keep seeking out educational content in audio-visual form, just remember its place. It is only a shallow overview and there's often an element of exaggeration or sensationalism for show/entertainment.
I've learned a lot from it too. I'm a native speaker and voracious reader, and years ago took a course in business sponsored by my then employers, and I agree with you that if you pay attention, there's a mine of useful information in these shows.
