forgive me, but you seem not to be honest. the leaves (ficus) WITHOUT BUDS will indeed have roots, but will never turn to trees having no poit of grow. it's not viola or zamioculcas! making people believe in your small trick you just steal their time and lead 'em to disappointment. (If it's still somehow possible - here's my immediate and sincere apologies!) People! cut the leaves off with a sharp knive with a piece of bark (and possibly wood) and a leaf bud. you'll have much more chances it'll work.

The leaf will root but it'll never grow a plant (I learnt the hard way). Don't waste your time with this method, take a proper cutting from the stem, cutting about 1-2cm below a node, and chopping off the bit at the top (note: you can make multiple cuttings from one branch).

The only way it MIGHT grow is if a bud happened to be cut with it but even then it might take years to develop, if any. Did you do single leaves as this person did? Please update as to whether or not a new plant stem emerged 👨‍🏫👩‍🌾🌻

A new plant will not grow from a single ficus leaf. That leaf will put out new roots and then eventually die.

They won't cos you can't grow a plant from a leaf cutting lol. The leaf can root but it will eventually rot and die. You need at least a node but ideally 3 nodes if you want to propagate from a cutting.
