Not just one of the greatest bluesmen ever, and not just the last of the great Chicago blues giants; Buddy is the guy who has more fun playin the blues than anyone ever. Love Ya, Buddy!
I’ve been so blessed at least 7 times and consider myself in a state of grace having tapped him on the shoulder as he walked passed us playing in the crowd
You know... this is just one of the few legendary perfomances that a bluesman can achieve in a whole life time. The way he plays in this perfomance is just from another world.
I love Buddy. Such a fantastic performer and Bluesman. I drove over 750 miles once to see him play Red Rocks. Beautiful, perfect night, with Buddy jamming the entire time.
Buddy's the man......Loved seeing him in the old smokey bar days when he came into town....My band used to host the jams at the bar he came too often ....Whoo hoo....Ya, I shared the same stage as him...lol
Opened up for him at the Zodiac club in Allentown Pa in the 90's with Blues Night Out . He was great ! We bootlegged our own show and got his also . They wouldn't let us record . Met him back stage , great man without a guitar !
So often performers on stage practically beg the audience to join in, often to pathetic results. Here the audience joins in without any prompting and they join in at all the right places. Buddy has them eating out of his hand and loving it. A terrific performance!
One Gnarly, Nasty, Fever Pitch, Krypotonite guitar solo!!! I met him about 17 years ago at the first Buddy Guy's Legends when I lived in Chicago. He was just hangin' out near the pay phone "minding the store." Then I saw him perform Luly 4th, 2009 at Taste of Chicago. He was picking the strings with that rubber or soft plastic tip at the end of a drum stick.
I love Buddy’s playing. It’s so different to how the man himself seems. In every interview I ever see he seems so gentle and kind….yet every note he plays seems like he’s going to break note only the strings and the guitar but the whole music venue and everybody inside it! 🤣
For musicians music is not just a job it is a way of life. Buddy Guy told a story once when I saw him in concert his ex-wife told him you can have me or you can have your music you cant have both so he packed his suit case and guitar and said good by to married life that's how much his music means to him.
I saw him with this very band several times. The bass player tried to hit on my Japanese roommate. Seeing buddy guy in a small college bar will always be a favorite music memory
Hendrix was wrong although I love him. Buddy isn't the best in anything but an incredible entertainer! I had the great honor to get backstage passes for a festival in '04. He was playing with Double Trouble. My wife's brother is Reese Wynans, former keys player for SRV. We got the whole limo treatment and sat on the stage. Buddy signed one of my Strats. He is so gracious and modest! A very fine person. We got along fine. I wrote the Whitehouse for the last 3 years and finally Buddy made it!

I have been blessed 5 times
In Milan 10 years ago...front row...less than 5 meters away...at the end of the show he shake my hands, what a gentleman...what a GOD

"Come on...
Baby don't you wanna go...
Goin' to the same old place...
Sweet home Chicago"
That has to be the catchiest chorus of any song ever.
Robert johnson song, 1938.
The audience is kickin’ it!
Awesome performer :)
