How funny is this, I miss read the title of your video and thought you went to Australia! :-) You are always welcome to have a spontaneous trip to Ghent in Belgium ;-) Btw, we also spent our holidays in Merano last year and we also visited Austria :-) Enjoy your stay over there!
I am from Innsbruck. Please say Meran (not Merano!). The south of Tirol was stolen by the italiens after ww1! Almost 80 percent in our south are already german!!!!

We were just in Merano and took the bus to a 20 person gondola up into the mountains, then hiked for about 3 miles to this cute little lodge literally in the middle of nowhere, then got on this 2 person basket lift that took us down the mountains for 10 mins, then on to a single chair lift over the vineyards and the cows with their cowbells back down to a city. MOST AMAZING DAY! Thought of you while doing this and know you would LOVE it! If you get the chance to get back up to Merano, I'd highly recommend it. Don't even need a car......and you're up in the Sud Tyrol like never before! Safe travels......
