That because the Troopys use to have 11 seats. They took half those seats out a while ago making it useless for transporting people. The 79 suits my lifestyle today and just looks beautiful.
One of the best showcases of a landcruiser ive seen mate. I have a 75 series myself so I'm biased and love the old ones as opposed to the new v8 lcs. However, your cruiser looks schmick. That tray looks great with the body paint. Amazing rig.

Share quite a lot with you: Virtually same age within 1 month, lived in Germany in the 80s (now Perth Aus), some similar medical issues and have owned an identical Bj74 to your old truck for a few years. My partner (ex Nowegian, now Aussie) has a 76 series with the v8 which she has modified quite extensively. Very nice. I am more old school: in addition to the bj74 (1988) I run an 85 bj70 plus 2 x Hzj75 Troopy. Mostly used for work - we run an ag tech business. Keep up the good work. Really enjoy your channel and admire all the good community stuff you do.

Great looking ute mate. A set of decent struts helps with the bonnet lift. If I hadn’t injured my back I’d probably still have my 2015 ute with plenty of bells and whistles fitted. I pulled the round head off the top of the air cleaner and put the forward facing vent on. I put an am/fm antenna on the bullbar and unplugged the popup one. So glad you ended up getting the vehicle mate🍺🍺

Hi Clay, Quite a collection of cruisers there! :) The new one is really nice. I guess you already know but I'll mention it for anyone who hasn't thought it through... if you tie a dog on the back make sure it's on a SHORT leash. You really don't want your best dog winding a pig and trying to jump out while you are driving. I saw the specs between the V8 and the 2.8 and wondered. Thanks for clarifying. Yep, I'd call it a truck & go the diff locks & breathers! With regards to bolting toolboxes consider securing heavy items to the base of it. I bolted an alloy toolbox to the carrier of my KTM990 years ago. Eventually after hundreds of kilometers of being smashed about it let go and bounced down the track! I figured the heavier tools inside were being thrown up and down and hammering the box and the mounts. There is also the inertia of the total box weight changing direction with high frequency, so it was probably also too heavy and thin-walled for the application too... I'd be securing something like that to steel I think... with big washers or plates inside. Things bouncing around is always a recipe for some sort of problem, especially if you are married! Lol Mud tracks? I was considering getting the rubber roll up ones.
Id buy that exact model with those mods. Wise choice. Also id call it a ute because no class 2 required. My problem i need to solve is id like to own one in the next few years without having a loan It will be a work vehicle so definitely used to tow everything anywhere

What a beautiful build mate, if I could give you some advice from my learning curve, get underbody rust protection. My cruiser has done 20,000ks on the odo and it’s just a tad over a year old. She’s already rusting underneath and I wash it religiously after any salt exposure. It starts small and spreads, there’s a company up here called auto blast that does it, you should check them out and see if someone down your ways does something similar. Also if you wanna keep the paint mint get ppf installed, keeps the paint mint when your going thru the scrub. Those are 2 things I wish I had of done to mine now she’s too late to turn back. Something to keep in mind

Your v8 landcruiser bit different in the engine bay . That air flow is a great idea. Mines a 2019. Super basic no electric winds . No flash radio controls on the steering wheel. Bloody brilliant brother . I'm stoked your dream came true. We got the 2.8 landcruiser. It's a automatic only reason we got it so my wife can drive it. It's great to drive but I still love the v8. Did you get the amcap for the warranty under $500 a service. Bet its the first ute you ever put in a shed.
Great truck. I like the lack of bells and whistles on the old ones. I own a performance bmw. I’m sure it likes to drain my wallet 😂. Plus gave me a few demerits.
