Gidday Clay. My best wishes to the family, mate.
    Good talk thanks.
If we approach it the right way we grow stronger by going through hard times. In the least, we learn what not to do or what we could do to survive better /easier.
Yes, life is hard on people, there are always curved-balls being lobbed at us. A nurse friend of mine once told me something along the lines of you have to take care of yourself if you want to be effective in caring for others. It's also a basic top-of-the-list concept in first aid, make sure you are safe. For a simple example you are not of much use to the patient if you have also been electrocuted. It's natural that the same could be said of helping (or raising) a family.
Look after yourself guys if you want to be the best "provider" you can be. Listen ( & I mean, take it in) to those around you. Seek help if necessary.
Clay, no one has all the answers, it's the conversation that is important, raising peoples awareness of things they might need to look further into themselves. You are doing a brilliant job of that, thankyou
Exercise, even low levels, is always better for you than being inactive. It (in moderation) even increases your life-expectancy.
Yes, you never know if "this" is the last time you will see this person. Never leave on a bad note, be open and honest. Some people will obviously try to take full advantage of that so maybe think twice before you give them the combination to the safe! Lol.

I like this. Brilliant comment mate. Pinned it so every one can soak it up. The bottom line...'Take care of your self' so you are in a good state to take care of others.

    Hi Clay,
    Words worth listening to.
My whole life I've been fit, healthy and full of energy. A major heart attack in February this year brought home the fragility of it all. I've finally accepted the fact that Im not bullet proof. Your content has me realising that I want to return home physicallly and emotionally.
Australia has been my house for 20 years now, but NZ will always be my home. I miss it so much. My children have grown, married and produced grandchildren. I miss NZ so much. Your words are so inspiring. I feel like my time is at hand.
    Thank you Clay

You can't put toothpaste back in the tube, once its out. Best wishes to you and your whanau Clay. Depression can go into remission - this isn't talked about enough. It just takes work, make a plan, make it happen. It takes 22 days to change a habit, 67 days to change the psychology behind the habit.😊

Hi 👋 clay I was half way through listening to your inspiring words as always great advice there buddy. Just got home now had to Quickly get over to my daughters house we have been looking after our 15 month old grandson for three days and suddenly he had a stomach bug I won’t go it to details we contacted his mum and she had to take time off work and took him to the doctors he’s dehydrated but he’s drinking water and still eating not as much but he should be fine. So the reason I went over I had to go to the chemist to get some hydralyte liquid for him. Being able to be there now in our older years for our family and grandkids is a real blessing . I thought I’d mention that hope it was ok family is everything. Thanks for sharing clay all the best buddy 🙏🤠 Colin ☕️☕️😘🫶

Being a grandparent and helping with your grandchildren is a good enough reason to look after your own health so you can help raise them into adult life before you die. Good job buddy.

Here’s the revised version with your added message about awareness included:
After 40 years on this earth, I’ve realized that you can do everything to be fit and healthy and still get sick. Meanwhile, someone who eats poorly from breakfast to dinner can live a long, happy life. This shows that one size doesn’t fit all.
A big key is having awareness of your impact. A lot of people think they are insignificant, when little do they realize that everything they do has a ripple effect that goes on for generations. Considering the many challenges we face, both externally and internally, I’ve learned it’s better to enjoy life and not take things too seriously. We all make mistakes, and while it’s important to learn from them, we shouldn’t dwell on them. I’m not advocating for reckless behavior or destroying your life, but there is a balance to strike.
Everyone is unique in how they handle stress and navigate life. The key point is to live intentionally. Design your life the way you want it. Make mistakes, but don’t quit or give up on your goals-be as persistent as a dog on heat!
Remember, this place called Earth is a school, not a judgment zone. It will be tough at times, but we all share the power to create change. Live, learn, love, and repeat. Be intentional, my friends, be intentional.

Apparently if you have good cardio vascular fitness, your life span is increased by a huge amount even if you smoke or do questionable choices. Peter Attia talks about it on a podcast, sorry I cant elaborate more its been a while since I saw it.

    • @thebrocheckclub1777
      @thebrocheckclub1777  14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

Not everything Peter Attia says is correct but yes. VO2Max is one of the physical markers. The others are grip strength, balance, flexibility, muscular strength, and maintaining a fast walking speed.
