Dogs perform best on raw diets. From what ive seen city folk really put their pets at a disadvantage. We've got a 16yr old Gr Pyrenees hearding the flock like a youngin. Raw egg first thing in the morning. Then hes off. A raw chicken leg in the bowl after hes left and returns to it when he wants. Bowl of raw milk in the evening. 140lb dog. Been bit by snakes, tangled with coyotes, strong boy.
Thanks for sharing! Don’t forget he loves cooked pumpkin, green beans and loves carrots even the greens from them! But like Paige said, always check with your vet!
Hi Mellow pup 🐶 I enjoyed hearing about his food and toppers. We fed Scarlett fresh for most of her life, and now that she’s older we switched to First Mate for her golden years. She loves it ✨
That’s awesome! We are currently in the process of switching both mellow and jovial over to Diamond Natural because of Jovial’s allergies! We hope that her allergies improve on a new food🥰
I'm a new Great Pyrenees owner. He 7 weeks old. Live on the farm but no livestock but have another dog with me. Based on your experience, do you take your dogs out to the park? Either dog park or walk on leash at park away from other dogs. Thanks! 👍
Congratulations on the new puppy! I personally do not take my dogs to dog parks, both my dogs have been attacked by other dogs at dog parks so I tend to avoid them. I personally don’t recommend dog parks because one bad experience could hurt your dog in the long run. I do however take them to regular parks for socialization and walks! I would try and avoid on leash interaction with other dogs that you don’t know because that can cause tension between the dogs. If you would like to expose your puppy to other dogs I would introduce them to dogs you know. The most important thing about socialization is that it dose not mean to let your puppy say hi to every dog but instead for them to learn neutrality around other dogs!🥰
Pyrs don't eat regularly, as you say, and some of them sometimes go for several days without eating because they have a slow metabolism. Nothing to worry about, for the most part. Experimenting with what the dog likes is excellent advice 👍❤️
155 lbs, lol, that's awesome. I've heard that big dogs have stomach problems if they eat after exercising. Are you worried he might chow too soon after activities or may you got his tummy stapled?
I personally don’t feed any of my dog an hour before or after exercising! Bloat or their stomach twisting can be very problematic and is more common in bigger dogs. So it’s just safer to wait at least an hour for any dog🥰. With him being free feed there are a couple of things we do, for example if we are going hiking that day we make sure he has an opportunity to eat before than, and when we get from hiking he does not get his food put down until an hour after!
I used crazy liberty! It’s a dye made specifically for dogs. One tip for coloring a dog for the first time is to do a patch test just to make sure your dog does not have an allergic reaction to it!
It could be something to do with the food, I would recommend looking into switching to a different brand of food! Some times dogs don’t do good on certain brands of food so you may have to switch it! I would also recommend calling your vet to just consult them!
I think its because he might have passed away I mean he would be turning 10 years old this month and the life span of a.our "males" is 10 years hope this helps😃😃
@@sterlingmcglothothen4255Mel is actually 8 yrs old in July. Unfortunately they wouldn’t let her monetize and she has her own business now. We share the dogs occasionally on our lawn care / family channel.
Unfortunately they wouldn’t let her monetize and she started her own business making dog gear. We share the dogs on our channel during outings. Mel turned 8 yrs old this yr and is happy as can be! We appreciate you all watching his vids. We’re just as sad that Paige wasn’t able to continue after getting all the views. Mellow is surely loved!
Free feeding can definitely have its disadvantages which is why I don’t recommend everyone do it. We also don’t really “free feed” him anymore because we do have multiple dogs who are on a specific food schedule. Kibble is definitely not the worst thing you can feed a dog all my dogs have been on kibble and I have never had any issues. I feed PPP which is backed by science and all my dogs do great on it!
@@mellowsadventures8285 ppp? There is no good kibble, it works against your dogs body. Their body was designed to eat the exact opposite of kibble. There is a documentary “pet fooled” online and Dr Karen Becker has a very informative TH-cam channel.
It’s definitely not! Just because it upsets you doesn’t mean it’s abuse. It’s pet safe dye that doesn’t effect him at all his vet loves his coloring and does not have any issues with me dyeing him. So instead of accusing me of abusing my dog how about you go after the people that actually abuse their dogs! Have the day you deserve!

I have used that same oil since mine was 6 months old. It helps with skin allergies.

Your painting of the dog is animal abuse
