I worked for shoneys as a young girl, they used whole strawberries to create the strawberry pie. Yes it was delicious and stacked up high 😊😊 I bought my grandpa one every week...

After hunting last Thursday and Friday for a strawberry gel for strawberries look what I accidently found, Marie and Calvin making it. I mean I tried twice to buy the gel from Walmart but no success. Now I finally know how to do it! Thanks!! Oh and now I know to get on Walmart and find me one of those handy strawberry slicers. What a big help for me today!! Good grief how easy is that gel to make. Everything I ran across wanted me to mash strawberries and all kinds of craziness. LOL

I grew up in Rome! Love watching your videos! I remember the Shoney’s near the duck pond (I don’t think it is there anymore🙁). I loved Shoney’s Hot Fudge Cakes!!! I live in South Carolina now and down the road is a location that grows strawberries for the public to pick and buy! Just bought some to make one of these pies 🍓

I miss Shoney's. When my daughter was little she and I used to go get their breakfast bar a lot and sometimes meet Momma there. Kids till 5 years old ate free from the bar. I loved their strawberry pie. Momma used to make strawberry pies from scratch that tasted much like Shoney's. I was a waitress at a family owned rib house when I was 20 or 21 and the owner paid my Momma to make strawberry pies for him to sell. He and his wife loved her pies. I am like you Marie I like the fast and easy way lol. Looks good.

marie, every recipe i have seen for this pie says to use 6 tablespoons of jello. i think it might be why this one did not gel. still looks good, though.
