  • If your head is spinning looking for a good Compact Utility, or Utility, tractor take a look at this video to get some insight on the thought and buying process I went through, and why I ended up settling on the Case 75C, which is a step above the compact utility class. I never looked in the Utility tractor class because I thought they would be more expensive. I found quite the opposite, beefier frames, more horsepower, and way more standard features for the same price. Please leave me some feedback on what you think of the review and if you have any experiences with this tractor. I would also love to hear your lessons learned from your own tractor buying experiences.
    I will be doing long term reviews on this machine, and will also be putting out more videos on the equipment buying process, so be sure to subscribe to get the latest videos. Thanks!

    Thanks for the awesome review! I was originally looking at a New Holland Boomer 50, but am now debating between the Case 75C and Powerstar 75 for the reason you said about price. With these being within 5k of the smaller models why not? You always hear "I wish my tractor was bigger", but never "I wish my tractor was smaller". I have both Case and New Holland 30 miles from me.

      Thanks for the feedback! I don't think you can go wrong, you get WAY more for the money. Don't listen to MSRP either, the disconnect between MSRP and what the dealer can sell it to you for and still make money is astounding...I believe the MSRP was over $66k on my 75C, more than $20k more than I paid. Craziness. Very similar to buying a new pickup truck. I put this video up because I was having trouble finding reliable info out there. Thanks again for the comment!

    The $64K price tag comes from the general cost today of $1000/HP for a tractor. Yes, it is a lot, but you almost never buy a tractor that is larger than you need. But 45K is a good price for a nice piece of equipment. And yes, you can do big round bales with this tractor. I have seen it done with smaller tractors; it all depends on weight. So have calcium in the tires and weighted properly. It is a great tractor.

    • @fowlerweb
      @fowlerweb 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I priced around and the $64K is what I was told for a 75A Full Cab Loader 4wd from several dealers. I found a online dealer in another state that would sell me a new 2023 Case 75A for $55K. Adding the hay spear attachment and shipping increased the total to $56K. I've had it for 2 months and I'm really liking it. Plus, I have a 1990 Case 685 Canopy Loader 2wd that we are still using on the cattle farm.

    How does the tractor start in cold weather? What is the coldest temperature it will fire at without having to plug the block heater in?

    • @driftlessinwi
      @driftlessinwi  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe someone else can chime in...I keep it in an insulated shed that gets into the 20s whenever it is below 0 out so I have never had to start it when the tractor was really cold. I would imagine it would be like all my other diesel engines where I try to plug the block heater in whenever the machine is below 20F. Sorry I don't have more info at this time.

    Which Flat Face couplers did you end up switching out with the factory third function smaller couplers that came on the tractor? Any trouble plumbing them together with the old fittings?

    • @driftlessinwi
      @driftlessinwi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It requires 3/8" Flat face couplers and I believe I needed 2 male couplers because both were female on the tractor. You can adapt them to 1/2" with an adapter but keep it simple because you don't want it sticking out far. If I ever get time, I think it would be worth it just to change the fittings on the tractor to 1/2" because the adapter is kind of a pain and it can interfere with some attachments.

      No issues. I have about 100hrs now and am planning to do an update video soon. Just small quality control things (broken zirc, a poor weld on a nut for the manual bucket level indicator, and a couple little trim pieces in cab that have fallen out of some of the handles). It has cut well, baled well, spread manure, loaded lots of things, and has even done some ditch work on my new driveway. I really like it and think it's an excellent value. No warranty work needed yet. Will have more info in followup video. Thanks for the question!

      @@driftlessinwi I look forward to the update. This tractor is being considered along with the Kubota M7060, M4-071 and Massey 4707. If you've changed the fluids yourself, how was the filter access? I've read it's a bit of a bear to get to. You seem to be the only guy posting vids with a recent model so don't be afraid to raise the hood and really go over it!

    • @driftlessinwi
      @driftlessinwi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am about to do the oil change on it and will record. It does seem a little cumbersome to access the filters, especially with the loader on...based on looking at the manual. Hopefully the extra effort doesn't surpass the benefits of this tractor vs the competition :) fingers crossed!

    • @driftlessinwi
      @driftlessinwi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Turns out I don't need to change my oil yet (I'm right around 100 hrs and manual says every 600 hrs). I plan to wait till it is warmer here, so spring time. After I realized the steps involved: Take off loader, remove side panels, remove a bracket, disconnect a tube, remove fuel filter, then remove oil filter...I decided doing this in the cold wouldn't be fun :) I will say this is a pretty big con for me since all my other machines are pretty straight forward and easy when it come to changing the oil.

    • @JesusSawYouDoThat
      @JesusSawYouDoThat 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@driftlessinwi Yeah, I was talking to a local salesman this week and I mentioned the filter location. He ran out and snapped some pics for me and agreed the placement wasn't the best. I basically told him it wouldn't be Italian without some quirky Italian engineering. He did mention the 600Hr interval and advised that fuel filters would be replaced at the same time so they shouldn't really be in the way since they get replaced as well. I'm no stranger to wrenches and busted knuckles so even seeing where they placed them didn't bother me much, or I liked the rest of the tractor enough to overlook it to a degree. I'd probably change my oil more than once every 600Hrs though, seems like a long time to me. I did run over Wednesday and put my rear in the seat. I will say I did like the cab and the tractor quite a bit, a lot actually. The R1 tires on the local unit made it look significantly larger than I expected after watching your video with the squaty R4's . Even if your not changing the oil yet, I hope you still plan on update/work videos, there's just not any recent vids on this unit newer than several years old. It earned you another subscription at least!

      Doing great, I have the grapple bucket on the front moving brush piles for burning and a box blade on the back. I need to get another video out on it, but haven't really found many compelling video ideas. It is cold in WI now and it seems to perform alright in cold, it sputters a bit more on a below 0 day than my CAT306 when starting up so I might start using the engine block heater on the really cold days. @@theloweshow3047 i haven't used it for snow removal yet, I did test out the box blade in the snow though, going in reverse and it seems to power through everything. My rear tires are fluid filled R4s and I have the loader with a 1500lb attachment so there was a lot of weight. I don't anticipate any issues with plowing, has to be much better than my CTL was. The fogging is somewhat of an issue for rearward windows, if I put the fan on max it seems to do OK. I haven't spent a lot of time going backward though (other than when testing box blade).
