Yep, in '64 they were of a much higher quality than the ones manufactured in the USA today, not even any comparison by any standard.

I know 355 is the Cadillac, but I just dont dig them. 335 is where its at for me. Still not an inexpensive guitar but closer to a working man saving up for a good used one. And its not overly pretentious. To my ears the 335 sounds like a semi hollow should sound. 355 has its own thing going on.. Nothing wrong with a standard production line either. Im having a Vtone installed on my standard. Not modding the 64

I have a question… I am looking into getting myself a Gibson 335. There are a bunch of different neck profiles on different models, from fat 50s to slim 60s to modern C. My question is… if I prefer the thin U profile of my ESP LTD EC 1000… which Gibson 335 option is closest to that ? Thanx

Same here. I'm not sure if he was using more gain with the other two or they have hotter pickups, but the 355 had a nicer character in my opinion. I wanted to go for the 64, but now I don't know.

Why not play them clean as in undistorted? ES-335s are great guitars....your amp settings do them no justice.

I prefer this. It’s more of how I play. Everyone one is different. Watch the Andertons review and they go through different settings
