TRIGGER WARNING: Depression, Anxiety, Neglect, Self-Harm, Suicide, Bullying This MAP... Firstly, I want to say after being bullied for over a year when I was around 6 years old made me learn early on how to hide emotions, mainly sadness and anger. This made me cry, and the song was so inanely accurate for Eda. The emotions in the animations, stunning. The designs were amazing, having younger Eda and Lilith with red fur/hair like they are in the show, yet it was still easy to know who they were. Eda’s fur more white in some spots more then others and her trying to look confident around Luz. But I want to talk about the character, Eda is by far my favorite character, I just relate to her so much. Her relationship with Luz and Lilith are really interesting dynamics, yet feel so natural. Her being bratty towards her older sister and driving Lilith insane is one of the most accurate sibling things I’ve seen on a show. Her being Luz’s maternal mother in the Boiling Isles and risking everything for her in a heartbeat shows how compassionate and caring she truly is. We don’t know much about Eda’s family or past all that much, we know Lilith is her older sister and cursed her. We know she went to Hexside and was a troublemaker, yet didn’t get kicked out? There are kids who are naturally wild and reckless, but something is telling me she was just trying to get attention. When she was talking to Bump about enrolling Luz in Hexside, she was completely relaxed and Bump was acting like he was a close mentor to Eda or at least was. Eda was sent to his office often, meaning she was the center of attention of a higher authority figure. The reason I say this is because of something Eda mentions in Covention. She mentions her parents, saying that Lilith being her sister wasn’t all the mystery she had, King obviously doesn’t like them. It seems like her and Lilith were neglected from a young age, one clip in Young Blood, Old Souls was of Eda and Lilith (who couldn’t be more then 8) running through a forest, no parents or even one of their parents palicmen with them to keep an eye on them. Eda also had so many files or her being trouble, wouldn’t a good parent do something? It was like her parents weren’t even paying attention. Eda’s curse is another thing, it’s a symbol of mental illness. Which illness is really up to personal interpretation. For me it’s depression and anxiety, the beast she’s trying so hard to tame is wild and unpredictable, Eda not knowing what the beast was doing when it escaped. Her curse also becomes easier to control with the help of medicine or elixir in her case. Her cursed form is aggressive and can easily hurt and kill others but has the same chance of hurting or even killing herself. Eda trying to hide the curse worsening from Luz is accurate for many parents, they don’t want their kid to stress over their problems. She is such a strong witch and has so many layers that we haven’t touched yet. Season 2 is coming on June 12th, get ready for pain!

JOB HOLY COW I LOVE THIS SO MUCH all of the art work is absolutely beautiful and legit started crying near the end because all of the expressions on everyone's face was full of emotion the music mixed with everyones amazing work is breathtaking
i can't tell you how many times i've watched this. this is honestly the most beautiful thing i've ever seen in my life. everything is stunning, my heart is aching, my eyes are wet from crying. i love every single thing about this. the story was always amazing, but it was told even better through this video. i can't even describe it.

The designs were amazing, having younger Eda and Lilith with red fur/hair like they are in the show, yet it was still easy to know who they were. Eda’s fur more white in some spots more then others and her trying to look confident around Luz. But I want to talk about the character,
Eda is by far my favorite character, I just relate to her so much. Her relationship with Luz and Lilith are really interesting dynamics, yet feel so natural.
