Kashin Koji being a weak humanoid piece of Otakemaru is already bananas, but here's the kicker. In the first game, all the evil foreigners planning to take Japans amrita didn't seem afraid of any of the Yokai there. Maria, in this game, after working with the Nine Tails in Nioh 1, was effing terrified of just Kashin Koji. Think on that and you realize how much of a horrifying Monstrosity Otakemaru really is.
@@shangaiify Yeah, at least with Nine-Tails, or Tomomo-no-mae, and Shuten Doji, you could kill them with normal weapons, even if it would be hard. Otakemaru on the other hand...
It sorta fits, since he was never alive to begin with. It actually explains in the lore notes, Kashin was a bunshin (a "clone" made of spirit energy) of Ootakemaru. A _fraction_ of his Anima leaked from the seal and gathered together to create the red-eyed man, whose sole directive was to release the rest of himself from the seal. You're literally fighting a shadow; so long as Ootakemaru remains alive in Byodo-In , Kashin's power also remains, so _all_ that effort "killing" him was really just weakening him enough put him back inside the seal. It's terrifying because it goes to show that Ootakemaru is truly and absolutely _invincible_ , his power comes from the gods, so he can't be killed or destroyed, EVER, simply contained.

The theme fits him especially with all the terrible shit he does its hilarious, I'm glad I was wasn't stuck on this boss like I thought I was gonna be, it was like fighting in a nightmare

Well Otakemaru is the strongest Yokai, it's even worse than Orochi as you can't kill it without the Sohayamaru.
