Man i love this podcast, been listening since the begining when i used to do 2 hr drives to and from work. Honestly i hope you guys are still doing this in 20 years. Awesome Show as always. (P.S) Marc we love ya.
Gronk was just a beast. Kelse reminds me of Tony Gonzales, Shannon Sharpe, Kellon Winslow, Antonio Gates. All great. Gronk was the beast above all others.
@@comicbookchris3509 why does that matter. Kelce toasts cb1s in their prime. Go look what he does vs Ramsey. Kelce blocks. Go and watch any game and focus on it. “Being feared by opposing players” so Vontez Burfuict was a great lb by that standard?
@@jackiemoon5906 We are dealing with opinions and I gave you mine. Gronk rules above all. Jim Brown was the greatest running back even though others have more yards. Vontez was feared but his stats didn't match up with one pro bowl year.
@@comicbookchris3509 what if Kelce gets 1800 yards and 13 TDs the next two years? Not including postseason where he’s not going after Gronk, he’s going after jerry rice stats.
I’m I the only one with the theory that Jim Harbaugh’s inner voice IS actually just Matthew McConaughey’s voice? He may even appear to Jim, like Elvis in True Romance. He’s waking Jim up, with a cup of coffee in hand, saying “wakey, wakey, today’s not just another day, it’s TODAY!”. And Jim says “you know, you’re right, I never thought about it like that before, Thanks Matthew” And of course Matthew says “I like you Jim, always have, always will, alright, alright, alright” Jim has GOT to drive a Lincoln!
I can see anyone arguing Gronk being better than Kelce at traditional TE but I put Kelce in the discussion of one of the greatest pass-catchers of all time. Dude can run the entire WR route tree, has invented routes, is barely defendable, and is breaking Jerry Rice records we once thought untouchable. He's a class of his own. Soaking up getting to watch it in real time.
Playoff stats are what separates them imo. Also the discourse of Boston fans is what makes this convo so toxic. They see Brady mahomes and Gronk Kelce debates as good vs evil. Trolling in general has almost ruined online sport’s discourse
@@jackiemoon5906 totally. Fandom becomes part of our identity so disagreeing becomes a personal attack for people. See the response to Andrewisachiefsfan's below. Almost guarantee that person wouldn't have a conversation about ball.
Also, lots of talk about the two playoff games Brady/Gronk played vs Mahomes/Kelce. Let's not forget, Kelce had 10 catches for 133 yards in LV. And over the two games he had more catches for more yards than Gronk. Gronk had 2 TDs to Kelce's 1.
I'm obviously incredibly biased but Kelce is also the emotional leader on the team alongside Mahomes. You can't discount that fact when it comes to who would would want to start a team with. The guys passion for the game and support for his teammates is off the charts.
Tony Gonzalez with the snub. During his ending years he was great for us. Almost lead us to a Super Bowl when Ryan white Julio were firing on all cylinders. Had bad line and a worse defense
Arguing Gronk or Kittle is better than Kelce because of blocking is ridiculous. Any beefed up TE3 can come in and block. It's not an incredibly valuable skill overall. Kelce's immense value is his receiving threat which is greater than any other TE in history. He has waaay more 1K yard seasons than any other TE. He owns the playoff receptions record and others. He almost never misses a game. But it's Kelce's production and offensive value that makes him the clear GOAT TE.
My question for anyone who says it is Gronk because he was better at his peak, how long was his peak? I think it could be argued that Gronk's peak lasted less than 2 season. And it isn't like Kelce is a "compiler." He isn't Frank Gore here. His 1-2 year peak is 2nd only to Gronk. If you say over 1-2 years, it is easily Gronk. If you say over 4 years (and any period longer than that), easily Kelce. Over 3 years? Toss up.
Then there are the playoff numbers where Kelce is competing with jerry rice not Gronk. If Alex smith was better in the redzone the disparity in tds would not have been what it was.
He's already past the point where his drop-off in physical ability would have diminished most players. But what he is allowed to do lets him find ways to get open using his football iq. He can keep doing this as long as he wants to subject himself to the punishment of an NFL season. (Which sounds like this year and maybe next)
He was playing injured last year but casuals always leave that out. (He’s gonna be 34 ofc slow down is inevitable). Still gonna be top 3 until he retires
Jezzzz of course Kelce is #1... he's the Greatest TE EVER and he's still playing ! There is NO TE in his league.. just like there is NO QB in Mahomes league ! Ughhhhh how the fuck is Kittle #2 ? Come on.... Laporta was the second best TE last Year and will be this Year.

I thought they were talking about producer Randy lol
Cole Kmet not bring in the top 10 is crazy. Ranked top 10 in all major categories including T-2nd in TDs. Along with that he can also Block. Crazy.

What happened to Dan yelling EBERFLUS?!?! in a German accent?
Ertz was snubbed on the post-2010 list. Didn't even really get discussed either.
Ertz was number 7 wasn't he?

Dan earning the👍 this show for the rare Barry Horowitz reference. Although as a Canadian I prefer Iron Mike Sharpe.
Gronk all day long. Gronk is a real tight-end. Kelce is great of course but he's more like a receiver to me.
does he drink yakult ?
Laporta not high enough
Jake Ferguson not being on the list is a travesty. I am positive he had a better year than Kincaid at the very least.
Ferguson is literally top ten in receptions TDs and yards
