    I also use the TK panel. I use it side by side with Lumenzia. They each have strengths and weaknesses, but together it’s a great workflow for me.

      Likewise, I use TK and Lumenzia, I agree on them having strengths and weaknesses (andquite a bit of overlap) but they complement each other quite well plus it's useful having an alternative if one isn't quite working for you on an image.

    The NIK noise reduction is actually quite good. I do agree that more modern software might be cleaner, but NIK makes the image look more "real". The feeling is much less digital, and when you print an image, the remaining noise is gone anyway. Most people is looking at images in 200% or more, you don't do that with a printed image. Nobody looks at big images from 10cm distance, or using a microscope ;)
    NIK software had back when this version was made, and still have, this unexplainable thing, the magic that makes the image look "correct", not synthetic. Do a comparison, and I guess you will agree :)

      Yes, NIK has something about it that others don't have. Just take the circular selection tool. The way it works and seamlessly blends is just so natural.

    Hello Michael. Thank you again for yet another very informative video. I am wondering if you are using a 4K monitor? If I recall correctly when I first started using a 4K monitor (BenQ SW320), the free version that I had of the Nik Collection wouldn't scale, making all text in the app impossible to read.

      I have full-hd - so I didn't test that. But as I said, there are different installers / versions to be found online. Maybe one of them solves the scaling issue.

    Thanks for this video. I had looked at Lumenzia before and I might revisit now. ! was excited about the prospect of getting the Nik collection again, but the installer won't work on my Mac. It tells me I need Mac OS 10.7 or newer. I'm on Sonoma 14.2.1. I don't have any German so I might be doing something wrong. Has anyone any ideas?

      Ah sorry to hear that. I didn't test on Mac :-(

      @@mibreit-photo I tried from other locations too, with the same problem. I guess the OS has moved on too far for the software now - shame. Hope Windows users have better luck

    Hello Michael, can you explain how to install the nik collection as a plugin for lightroom classis 13? I do not have a plugin directory in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom Classic when browsing for a compatible host application during the installation of nik collection. Thanks!

    • @mibreit-photo
      @mibreit-photo  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It means you don't have Photoshop? You might check this post then - community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-discussions/plugin-directory/td-p/9481519
      It suggests you could use the lightroom presets or modules folder for plugins.

    The Nik collection plug in does not work on my mac. When I click on the installation button the icon pops up in the dock and also the installation window that tells me "This version requires Mac OS 10.7 or newer in order to proceed with the installation process. The installer will now quit." When I click OK then everything disappears. ??? I work on the newest version of the mac.

      The free Version no longer works on newer Macs I now learned. I use Windows. You might want to check the DXO Version of Nik collection. They also have Test Version. Cheers
