I've been trying to use to keep dog out of front curtains and it totally doesn't work, she's pulled down the curtain rod 3x while I've had the mat there. For now she's getting banished to outside when I'm not there but that doesn't really work, so annoyed.
Maybe you need to put the mat farther away from the window, so she steps on it before reaching the curtains. Just a thought, though I'm not sure if or why you wouldn't have thought of that already. Plus, I suppose it depends on the size of your dog.

That's why I've always done research before getting a new animal.....actually before getting anything, lol. Have you tried pepper or vinegar in the places you don't want your dog to go? We have been using the ssscat air cans, they're great but they are expensive and the kids accidently set them off all the time and it doesn't take much time to go through a can... I'm considering this mat, but I'm concerned that she might just jump right over it and get into the room I'm trying to keep her out of anyway. Anyone who has tried the scat mat to keep a cat out of a room, how effective was it? Thanks
The mat comes in different sizes, and you can purchase more than one. I'm not sure why you would only think to buy just one with your situation. Plus, I'm sure a couple of these for, what, six months of battery, would be cheaper than buying one of those cans every other day.
I bought a new car and read that will keep the neighborhood kitties from sleeping on it. I provide a lot of beds outside, and really prefer they not use the car, so may try this.

Unfortunately, it failed us. Other than providing some momentary amusement, it did us no good at all. In fact, one cat returned to the spot so often the can (expensive) was out of air in less than 24 hours.
