Bryston makes amazing gear. I used to own a 2B-LP Pro years ago. It developed an output issue in one channel when it was 17 or 18 years old. Sent it to Bryston and got it back good as new in under a month. No charge for the repair of course.

Terry, I always thought the 2B-LP was a delightful amplifier. It reminded me of the ease of musicality once produced by the Audionics CC2. Stunning, really. Glad to hear your enjoyment of yours was long lived.

    I still use a 40+ y/o 3B (100wpc) in my main system. I powers my bookshelves perfectly!

They are built quite well. I think a re-cap of your unit would surprise you.

it is funny when they talking abaut reliability ,misterious 20year waranty, may be if you live i Canada. The only amp failed in my experience was bryston 2.5b3, though it was second hand, nevertheless I liked the sound-hard hitting bass and attack,etc...Nearly to any AB class amp which manufactured in japan you can give 20 years warranty and will run other 5-10years without problems

I have found Bryston to be quite honorable about the 20 year warranty and never had any issue with them when service was properly warranted. The only 2 Bryston products, both amplifiers, that were not covered by warranty in the time frame was where one was struck by lightning (amazing damage, by the way) and the other was a victim of a dog peeing on it to which we referred to the model as the 4P.
It is always difficult to know what a second hand product has been put through and on too many occaisions we have had to reject consignment goods as broken (and the sellers knew that when they brought it in to sell hoping to stick somebody with their problem). We stopped loaning products to customers when several people blew them up (another brand) and then serviced it themselves which led to quick failure anyway.) Bryston themselves made it very clear for sometime that if you purchased a used Bryston from an authorized dealer, they would transfer (continue) the warranty from the original purchase date. That, at least, gave them some comfort as to the condition of the product at the time of resale.
So, when I sell Bryston, I don't hold my breath wondering if it would survive the customer.

Yes, they can be but I have seen them stumble. I was never a fan of the ST series of amplifiers and welcomed the SST versions which were a great improvement. Always built like a rock.

@@audibleeleganceinc I agree the sst is better. Have two of the 7B³ and think they are pretty swell.

@@supercompooper, while the ST version addressed a common criticism of Bryston, the common expression being Brightson, it lost it's musicality. I desperately tried to resolve it and could not. That's why I preferred the NRB and then transition to the SST skipping the ST version. If something is not musically correct, I really don't care about tonal qualities. A high school band playing the Rolling Stones instruments would be tonally correct but completely lacking in musicality.
