GM ☕️ Having grown up with Bryston in Toronto…I will always respect them. I left the brand decades ago ..and now in my retirement years..I’m back in the Bryston ecosystem. BHA-1 Headphone/ Preamplifier..for my headphones. Great video and very informative. Thany you.😊
Excellent review! I've long been a big fan of the Bryston line of audio gear, and if I had the money this would be my choice for an integrated amplifier. Being a Canadian, I have to admit to being a bit biased, though.
@@ethimself5064 Nope, and after seeing it opened up I wouldn't buy it at a quarter the price. The build quality does not merit the money. People can argue the sound quality all they want but that is subjective.
Too much incomprehensible talk. Thinking in one language and speaking another, never worked. 4:26 What is an authoritarian transformer? 7:04 Downloading front speakers...say what? 7:15 How can a terminal be powerful? 7:30 Optical ins that will illuminate, only when I buy this amp...yep, go figure! It goes on and on, throughout the "review". Finally, I guess you have to make up your mind what brand it is. Is it a Brighton, a Bryston or a Briston?
While Hegel is designed in Norway, it is manufactured in China, inside wiring layout is sloppy. Hegel, at least in North America is more expensive than Bryston
$16.000 for a home audio amp.!! I'll PASS even if I was really wealthy I'll stick with my old school Pioneer receivers.. They may not sound as good and have as low of a THD rating but screw paying $16,000 for a amp.!!
To each their own but for 16K I think I would go with separates. Not that I will ever be in that neighborhood, but a guy can dream.
Not all this expensive

Peterborough is about as North as French Riviera if you look at the map. 😂 Not the snowy north you imagine. Although there’s plenty of snow in winter.

You give it a 10 rating for price/quality? My Yamaha A-S3200 at $8,000 puts that thing to shame in my mind.
How so? Have you had both?

While Bryston used Plitron toroidal transformers, Plitron changed its name to Noratel Canada.
Worth every single pence
It was $6,695 USD new.

Whilst sonically it may be enjoyable, having a cheap, bent sheet-metal casing and budget components is totally UNACCEPTABLE at this price!🤔
I was completely on board with this integrated amp until you mentioned no XLRs in. Ugh!
Balanced are not needed when the unit is built correctly, question to think about, are there Balanced inputs on speakers? Or most speakers?
Yes strange as the Pre-amp BP17_3 has both in & out XLRs as they use the same case.
Bryston is ok, but Hegel is leagues better value. Also I'm not a believer in minimalism of circuitry is better in sound.

That amp is sold for $7000 USD , I really don't know where $16,000 comes from.
@ $16K, that machine is an abomination.
16k 😂 ?
for that price you can do a lot better
get a Rega Elex and save $14K
Bryston better sounding
