I have similar one, zero 9, until now is good, for inflating tires I always use small portable air compressor and I check pressure every week, is very important to ride with right pressure for maximum range.
Good review except you didn't mention the typical range you get. We're about the same weight so I'm very keen to know that. I expect, if it's fairly flat where you live, that you're getting 30 to 40 km / 18 to 24 miles?

Hey so i literally got a flat in my front tire the first day -.-… Have you been having problems with your kickstand ? Mine stays loose even after trying to tighten it
my kickstand was loose too, but I ended up removing it cause I found it got in the way. So far I've only had one flat after 400km. I was told keeping the tires fully inflated helps reduce flats.
@@castandlure I'm not too crazy about the higher cost either. How is maintenance and customer support? I've also heard something about the stem loosening after folding/unfolding a bunch, has that been a problem for you?
Thanks for the review, helped me decide on this scooter! Any tips on using the nozzle extension? Mine lets out too much air as soon as I start unscrewing it. Do you just overinflate the tube a little and then try to unscrew it as quick as possible?
@@castandlure thanks for the reply! I found another solution - pump it up to 50-55 psi, unscrew it quickly and then use a tire pressure gauge with a bleeder valve button to bring it down to exactly 45 psi
Thanks for the review. I rode mine the first time today. Full charge and rode 2.5 miles and battery was 100%. Rode 8.5 more and the battery went to two bars / 46v . I also got my gf a highboy and hers was slower so I rode basically 19mph the entire time and her battery is 3/4 full. They both state 25 miles on one charge. Entire trip 12 miles. I also noticed it was harder to push when I returned. Feels like break is stuck. How’s your battery?
I get about 20-22 miles on a battery, so less than the company states. It also depends on your weight, I am 175lbs for context. It's also possible there is an issue with the breaks or battery too.
Thanks for the simple 1 year review. I'm looking for an e-scooter for my commute to work and this model popped up my searches. Have one question though, how does it perform with hills? There's one road in my town that isn't super steep, but it is a bit up a hike up.
rode both and zero9/apollo city has much better acceleration, I mean a lot better, also top speed is better, the only thing vsett 8 wins is better front suspention
You've been lucky mate as I've had 4 blown rear tyres in the first few months of riding. I'm also glad you pointed out the need for a valve extender. When the tyre is flat it is impossible to inflate as you just cannot get a fitting on the valve. All my blow outs have been right on the seam of the tube indicating the tube cannot take my 105kg which pisses me off as they said it could take up to 125kg. That is bollocks. Forget this scooter if you're a heavier rider, you'll spend more time pushing it than ridding it. I've given up after my last blow out where I nearly lost it badly. It's staying in the the garage or I'll use it as a boat anchor.
Damn that's a shame. I'm around 80kg and just got my first flat, it split along the seam as well, so seems to be another weakness, I'll definitely address that in the next video, cheers.
@@castandlure You cannot get a solid for this either as they have an odd shaped back rim that won't fit a generic tyre. The people at Apollo know about this problem but are pretending it doesn't exist saying flats are a normal part of riding etc. This is bullshit when the back tyre clearly cannot take my weight and it keeps blowing. I feel ripped off as they said it can carry 125kg which is crap. They also have this annoying habit of talking to you as if you have and endless supply of cash to buy spares, tools etc or take it back to the dealer to get fixed. Let me know how you go changing the tyre, lucky you have the valve extender. I nearly lost my shit trying to pump up my tyre until the guy at the garage gave me one for free. That's another thing they know about but keep hidden. They probably want people to buy their over priced brand named pump.

I'm noticing creaks in the front suspension already and just bought lube for it. My left handbar also loosens frequently during the ride. Just put some plumbing tape over the grooves. Waiting to see if that works. Do you have experience with pros of upsizing the rear wheel to 8.5 x 3 in tire?
I decided to submitting here the review about my very bad experience with Customer Service and my Apollo City because the Apollo website is blocking my negative review. On November 17 (and one day before) I sent my negative review regarding my contacts with Customer Service and the defective scooter. I received confirmation of submitting a review but my post is not visible on the apollo website (I have the screenshots of my review and confirmation of submitting). I got my scooter on July 29th (order #11111). I started using the scooter with a factory fully charged battery (100%) but after riding 14 km (8.7 miles) the battery level showed lower than 20% (1 green bar). Then I charged the battery until 100% but after 6 km (3.7 miles) of riding the battery level showed less than half of charge (40%, two green bars). I sent the pictures in my previously email. I reported this problem on August 3th to Customer Service and I sent pictures of the display. I received the answer a few days later. They explained to me that the P15 should be 48. A few days later I rode from my home to the post office. The distance is 1.6 km (1 mile). The battery display was showing 2 green bars of battery charge when I started my way. Halfway, the scooter started to slow down suddenly. It was very dangerous because there were cars behind me and they had to stop suddenly and the drivers started to honk. The battery display all time showed 1 green bar and "E 00" until I started recharging the battery. I reported again the problem to Customer Service attaching pictures of the display. I again had to wait a few days for an answer. When I got the answer, they explained that P15 should be...39. They asked me to send more pictures and wait to more explanations and instructions. I rode at the time 93 km (57.7 miles) and I had to charge the battery 7 times because the level of the battery showed lower than 20% (1 green bar with letter L). The description of the scooter says: "the Apollo City offers 28 miles (45 KM) of range when in eco mode. Even at full speed in more realistic conditions, the City boasts a range of 22 miles (35 KM)". It means that I should charge the battery so far only once or maximum twice (as I mentioned I received scooter with fully charge battery and I should ride 35-45 km without charging the battery but I had to charge the battery after 14 km when I started to used it). On the end of the August, I needed to change the inner tube and I noticed one of the two spare inner tubes came already with the factory defect. I contacted Customer Service attaching pictures of the damaging of the tube. The answer I received was: "We'll be happy to send you replacement parts under our Apollo Protection Plan. This Protection Plan allows you to get up to two replacement inner tubes or tires (or 1 of each) per month for free, and we only ask that you pay the shipping fee of $20." The tube came with the factory defect so I don't understand why I have to pay for shipping. Somebody didn't check before put them to the box. Why I should pay for someone's mistake? It is unfair. The price for 2 new inner tubes on eBay is $12.61 (free shipping and free return) so how is Apollo Protection Plan if the customers Apollo's have to pay $20 for shipping? Every time when I plugged in the charger to the power the light on the charger was red. Then I was connecting the charger to the battery and I had to wait about 12 hours until the color of the light on the charger changed from red to green. The charger all the time was very hot during the charging the battery. Now, since about three weeks the color of the light on the charger is green when I'm plugging it in to the power. The color is changing to the red when the charger is connecting to the battery and then the color is changing to the green when the battery is fully charged but I still have to wait about 12 hours until the battery is fully charged. The charger is warm (it was very hot before) during charging. I contacted again Customer Service and I asked why the color on the charger was red during plug it to the power, on the beginning when I started to use it, and now the color is green. They explained to me that the color on the charger should be green when the charger is plug in to the power but they didn't explain why the color on the charger was red for many months from the very beginning when I started using it. They asked me to "send a video that clearly demonstrates the issue with the charger? We will then show the video to our tech team to confirm if it's defective." How I can make and send them "a video that clearly demonstrates the issue with the charger" if the color on the charger is green now...? I have no idea why the color on the charger was red before and now the color changed "spontaneously" to the green. I rode so far 319 km (198 miles) and I had to charge the battery many many times. I feel very uncomfortable and unsafe using the scooter because I don't know when scooter again will start to slow down suddenly during the ride. I have to control the charging level of the battery all the time. I have to charge the battery every 15-16 km (9-10 miles). Last night I charged the battery form 8.30 pm to 11 am (14 hours, 30 min) and the color on the charger was still red. I live in New York, very close to an authorized repair shop but Apollo never offered me to take and check out my scooter there.
