The scariest part of the Shamrock one is that during the aircraft select, Shamrock is completely and totally SILENT. Mission 14 Shamrock is truly a man who has lost the will to live
A fact about "Hoffnung" is this word means "hope" in German, so, when it's said "abandon Hoffnung" It obviously means "get out of this city" and also "give up on hope"
What's even scarier about the Rage and Scream fight is that, after shooting one down, if you prolong the fight, they start to hallucinate the other sibling still being alive. It's really freakish. If you asked me when I was much younger, my scariest Ace Combat moments would have been the burst missile and Chopper dying in AC5, the first because I couldn't believe such a destructive weapon existed, and the second because I couldn't believe they straight-up killed a close wingman like that. But ask me today, and my scariest moment is absolutely Ace Combat Infinity's campaign mission 5, Far Eastern Front: the Butterfly Master choosing to murder Slash after he ejected by firing a laser at his head. That moment gave me so many chills and still does to this day. That was the moment when we collectively realized, oh shit, Ace Combat storytelling is really going that far now. That was horrifying to listen to.
My top 5 would be: 5- asteroids falling on AC INF mission 8 4- trinity exploding for the first time in Assault Horizon 3- the 7 nukes 2- Geopelia 1- AC3 when Rena's cutscenes end and the colors get reversed and Rena talks on a scary way (those who seen the cutscene with Rena's narration and memories know what I'm talking about)
I think for me is also several moments, not only Rena and the geopelia mission. For example, there is a missing with Keith where you had to down enemies and the in the middle the interface start to screw up and start to goes statics with no sound of the combat and the movement became a little sluggish at the same time you heard dialogues belonging to Simon, Yoko and Dysion. And is as if you're seeing into Dysions memories and heard them while he is questioning who is "him" as well, before Keith snap you out. OR when Dysion does the same and the audio start to glitch until suddenly his voice change to a synth like tone and he realize finally in that route "he is a cyborg" or much specifically find her was only the sublimate conscience of himself in the electrosphere and the original Dysion dies in the bomb set up in one of the flash backs.
That time, i never knew Simon was the mastermind plotting Dision by putting his memory into the monitor. It because Simon has a revenge for Ryoko (his crush) who has been involve into explosion in her lab alongside with Dision when their both having a..hmm you know what i mean.
Scariest moments: 5.- When you have to destroy Trinity right after you get markov 4.- When Camila lazers a bailed down pilot in infinity 3.-When Rena is infected by nanobots while she has a breakdown. 2.- Dision-nemo fight in the electrosphere 1.-The introduction of the Night Raven OR the fight against the geopelias Honorable mentions: Whenever Morceaux plays. Seriously, creepiest track in the entire series
Number 1 for me: Realizing that Nemo is ZOE in all but name and unlike with the original ZOE against Scarface and Hugin and Munin against Trigger, Nemo actually completes it's mission in killing Dision regardless of what path is taken, and is so advanced now it's impossible to kill, even when 8 city-destroying Geopelias are unleashed against it. It can directly hack and commandeer your aircraft, use news channels or other data sources to conjure strategies, replicate your maneuvers by the end of a mission, and outperform other AIs. Also, while likely coincidental, there's the five versions of ZOE that face off against Scarface, and then there's the five versions that Nemo can evolve into depending on the route chosen.
Top 6: If Hugin and Munin successfully uploaded themselves and the Pensées humming scene before mission 20 Top 7: If Capt. Matias Torres successfully fired the shot from the Alicorn
I really feel like the satellite destruction in 7 where all the world’s communications went down really deserves more credit. Imagine being in a completely different country, completely cut off from your family or superiors, and you have no idea what’s going on everywhere else either. Your only source of information is just rumours
This. While we know about civil conflicts that broke out i can't imagine the chaos that would unfold. People went into Madden over a lack of *toilet paper* i can't imagine what it would look like if all commutation went down
I don't exactly have a top 5 ready but I can give some insight on some pretty spooky missions: AC X Time Limit: One of those missions both terrifying mechanically and atmospherically. It's a gas attack, but the clouds just get more and more yellow over time with peak yellow resulting in basically the entire city being gone. This is all due to the notorious Hamlet unit that carried Cynocrine gas in missions you yourself were in, but because you didn't shoot them down they got to enact this crazy scheme. The sky is a darkish green with not much light which makes it look diseased, and a couple of planes roam overhead, and you gotta spread that neutralizing agent. However unlike in 5, the neutralizing agent is unstable and can kill you if you pull too many Gs, which isn't good when being chased by fighters. Combine that with spooky music and this is actually a pretty tense mission. AC 3 Bug Hunt: Yes this is technically another gas mission, but the gas is not gas and is instead nanoscopic robots that eat through mostly anything forming hives, some of which start trying to go at Rena's brain at some point. Flying into the nanobyte cloud also distorts the HUD significantly and eats up health, which also show how deadly those little things are. Combine that with once again a diseased-looking orange sky and a creepy soundtrack and you get a pretty spooky mission. AC 3 Literally anything with Kernel in it: I don't know if it's thanks to Kernel itself or the situations where Kernel plays, but when that starts playing it always kinda gives me the creeps. Nakagawa really killed it with this as did anyone who made the missions where Kernel plays.
What makes Bug Hunt even worse is the fact that it could overload the brain of the human pilot connected through ENSI, by exploiting a flaw in the ENSI system. Shit could even kill people.
"AC X Time Limit" Please dont remind of that hell of a mission Even now im still having a hard time on easy mode I dont even wanna know what its like in hard or even ace mode
ace combat 3 bug hunt mission this mission is really scary because on that timeline planes equip with a COFFIN cockpit so it does not need a window. Still, with a nanobytes virus, the planes go infected and since COFFIN makes the pilot become one with the plane the virus also affects the pilot, this is the reason why Rena's screamed gets out of my head.
The True Ending of Ace Combat 3 is even scarier, where Simon outright tells you that you're an AI and will be released into the Real World to replicate one of the simulation results.
The Spiridus raining down hell on London. You're in London, having a good day, then some big-ass airplane starts to shoot whats basically lightning down to the roads. Yikes.
@@outrundoubtrun-lemonadeart682 not as much as the Gleipnir tho Ace Combat Joint Assault for me Is Just extra missions for X, with worse physics, worse soundtrack (excluding In The Zone and the old songs from the First 3 games) I wish PA actually made a decent Ace Combat X successor Edit: mostly because X Is the lastest "Modern" Ace Combat game, After X it's 3, and I'm curious to what happened After all those years Surely Belka Will still plot some Revenge or even a new game based on Nordennavic (no, I'm not saying Northern Wings, but a new title)
When I was a child, I had ace combat zero which was my first ace combat, I did not understand it since I did not have tutorials and I did not know that there was more ace combat, and it took more than 1 year and a half to finish it (yes pathetic but seriously that You see I didn't read that well or I didn't read fast) I remember that I got stuck for a month in mission 7 because it was difficult for me, I even thought it was the final mission but after 1 month I managed to pass it, and my traumas They were the first appearance of excalibur and see how your allies died, the city on fire, the nuclear explosions in which I believed that Pixi died (later I would know who was who shot me), see how they destroyed the base of Valais, and then another month more stuck in another mission that was the 17 which I believed that the control tower had to be destroyed but then I saw that they were under a tunnel and still did not know how to fly and crashed and then I was able to destroy it using the FAEB (the same thing that I used in the mission 15) and then see that pj dies and pixi appeared I was left with bo ca open, then I started playing all the other ace combat, missing only 6 to play but for now I can't because it came out only for xbox 360. oh and I know that no one asked me to tell my story but hey, here I leave it.
Archnemesis Mission is personally my most blatant bizarre mission from Ace Combat 3 regarding its air combat genre. In this mission, you begin to reveal who you are, entering people's mind. Blurring their thoughts and memories. Purging Rena's memory and identity used to subject of DoE. As the process begin, the reality begins to shift as if some divinely being directly interfere the world. None of the people know who's the entity that tampers the continuity. As the result of your preferred "best reality", you start to act how completely aware you are as an entity inside a video game by screwing the world and distorting the main timeline. Now after you completely purged Rena's mind, she's becoming insane and writhing in pain, asking someone for help. Even Dision, the one that supposedly all-knowing because his consciousness uploaded to the network, doesn't know who's the person who just purged Rena's identity. He begins to talk strange, in his aircraft on breaking the 4th wall way, directly staring at YOU saying that YOU are OUR true enemy. The world's enemy. A monster that keeps resetting the world over and over again... Just for your best reality outcome. The game itself bears heavy resemblace to what they call "simulation hypothesis." The world of what if one entity knows exactly how quantum superposition and entanglement works, the entity knows what lies ahead or basically past, present future and countless alternate universes and the entity simply put a motion just for its best reality outcome. It could basically manipulates quantum suicide and immortality that easy since it knows how superposition works and predict it. Nemo itself is the embodiment of nihilism as it does not have real purpose of its own existence to the world rather than a soulless, formless abstract combat artificial intelligence with no emotion at all but capable of making decisions. There is no sign of true moral as the term "justice" in this world is just a matter of someone's narrow perspective view of each other and the creepiest twist that the organization that supposedly keeping the peace is actually the one that makes calamity so that they could singlehandedly control the entire USEA by geopolitical power throughout propagandas. In the game of Ace Combat 3, never in my life I have pity to the complete chaotic villain whose his entire purpose is to eradicate ALL humanity and transfer their consciousness into network similar as the ghost dubbing sci-fi horror. Do you know why? Every time Dision gets killed, he remembers that he would be returned to past only to be killed by the same entity who controls the 5 reality outcomes by itself. He begins to realize that he is no more than a videogame character, suffering from countless deaths and even asking you "If you hadn't existed, the world would be ........" which his next words might be manipulated by Simon so that he forgets what he would say next. He begs you to reveal who you are or explain who's the cruel heartless sadistic sociopathic person who makes him suffer and why they did that to him. After knowing it's Simon, his voice tone is unexplained. Whether crying, happy or dead inside as his tone is completely numb and hollow. Dision struggling to exist whereas Simon wants to erase his very existence which in desperate situation, Dision tries to escape from simulation and enter the real world. Which is intercepted by Nemo in electrosphere until he realizes the man who caused his infinite pleasure and pain is nothing more than Simon, the guy who envying him getting relationship with Yoko and holds a grudge blaming Dision for her death.
i haven't played many AC games but personally my favorite scary moment (aside from PW's Prospero mission plot twist) was the Gleipnir from ACX the Gleipnir was terrifying; a huge, black flying fortress with the ability to make anything below it disintegrate in a flash, with missiles that can do the same thing from miles away, all complemented with the terrifying cloak mechanism, making it seem like a beast appearing out of thin air only to cause instantaneous, unforgiving destruction the fight itself was scary, paired with the anxiety-driving music it felt like dueling an enormous beast in the skies; not to mention the part where the captain flips the entire thing upside-down like??? that thing's already scary enough to fight normally and now you pull this trump card??? edit: so i read in a comment that the howling in the Gleipnir's boss music was the Gleipnir's engines running to keep the thing afloat bro. Leasath engineered that thing to be a psychological monster. an eldritch being envoy of death
My first ace combat was Zero, the first time I played the inferno , watching how war crimes where being committed , as a kid made me open my mouth wide in disbelief, plus watching pixy lose his sanity and the NUKES , I completely lost it , I replayed these missions to never forget those lessons, plus pixy becoming my enemy was really intimidating and scary
Scariest moment for me is Ace Combat 3 on one of the Ouroburos Routes. When killing Dision. He begs for Yoko to save him before his plane explodes. That genuinely gave me chills. It’s even more creepy when you realize he knows that Yoko is dead since he witnessed her death by being Sublimated into security cameras
Just imagine that Rage and Scream were hired by General Resource! That same General Resource you see and choose to fight for in Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere...
#5: Just plain sad #4: Crazy psychopath that harms me and others for no reason and indiscriminately... Meh, just unsettled by the audio but if they want to get killed, fine by me. Torres is scarier #3: Nukes? Yup, nukes. #2: #1: So this is what it feels like to be on a bad acid trip
In my personal rankings, Ace Combat 3 just has an outright monopoly on a list like this. It'd take expanding it to a Top 10 or Top 15 for other games to get a chance to shine.
In theory, nemo or dision could control more than one aircraft at the same time (we see nemo controlling 2 during a mission), so any network dision could get in, he'd have an army. Which I think are the case for the aircraft protecting the ourobouros blimp
I'm surprised there wasn't more moments from AC3. That game is easily the darkest game in the franchise with the most unsettling moments in that game alone.
hofnung is the most war crime per meter mission in Ace Combat games. And also one of the most heart breaking mission, because hearing people crying, screaming and knowing there's nothing to do but just die is just sadic and morbid. This mission is probaly the most sadic, war crime and also the worst thing that Osea did in the Strangereal world (in my opinion)
When you consider Electrosphere's true ending the scary thing is the biggest question of all... Who is or at least was NEMO prior to being an AI in Electrosphere? Are they a heavily modified copy of Simon (which would tie into Simon wanting Dision dead as who can you trust more than yourself) or another character we meet in the game or is NEMO an AI designed off the data of an ace of the past in a similar manner to Hugin and Munin being based off the data of Mihaly?
I think everything is the result of the ZOE proyect. From the AI Drones in AC7, speociall the ADFX-10, Hugin and Munin and then culmiate with NEMO. But Nemo is also a simulation on itself too. Basically a black box world to be comparate the result of "what if" in an AI world created by Simon. Basically an AI generated world where your actions you do represent a variable and factor into the data recopilated of the game's world.
My list is probably -AC3 Japan GR2 M18 Geopelia - Morceaux kicking on as you fly out to an enemy bombing civilians, and knowing you're the only one who can stop them unsettles you, and then you hack into the XR-900 - AC7 M15 Battle for Farbanti - The satellites all going down and the feeling of apocalypse shook me to the core when I first played it - AC6 M14 City Lights - The Stauros firing at Gracemeria... just... - ACI M5 Far Eastern Front - Camilla just firing on a bailed-out Slash (which is a warcrime) and just chuckling horrified me - AC0 M12 TSoA - The nukes, Pixy, the unnerving silence...
No matter what scary moments we will encounter in these games, nothing can compare to the fear that any ground or air enemy forces will feel when they hear that *WE* the player, is in the combat zone, we are basically the monsters in these games xD
Imagine the change it mood that would follow. Seeing single jet thinking it just seems pilot with a death wish only to seem them evading all your AA guns, dodges SAMs the proceeds to decimate your entire battalion
Yellow Squadron showing up for the first time during my first playthrough of AC04 as a kid was pretty scary, especially when I tried to fight them, only to realize I couldn’t kill them. Stonehenge firing on you for the first time was insane too. Another scary moment would be missions 17 and 18+ in AC5 The nukes going off in Zero, and Pixy defecting immediately after was nuts too, as well as Pixy showing up out of nowhere and killing PJ at the end. But I think the scariest moment would be in Infinity when Slash bailed out and the drones vaporized him in midair with their laser weapons. (Can you imagine if Hugin and Munin did that to Wit in 7?) Honorable mention (only reason for this being an honorable mention is that this isn’t an Ace Combat game): any time Cordium weapons are deployed in Project Wingman
You mean the mission where you have to destroy some solar panels and stuff and some generators but then they alerted stonehenge so you had to go through the trench while legit entire layers of ground were being pulverized?
Thanks for making this video, I love horror stuff, happy Halloween! I would put on the list, silent playing during the final briefing of AC04, that song is nothing more than a creepy noise of asteroids hitting strangereal (I guess it's asteroids, THEORIES) another moment that I would've putted is the Final cutscene from ace combat infinity, the mobius one's emblem red colored, allied with the creepy song of the cutscene made me feel scared when I was a child, like as if our hero turned into an villain
im not sure if this helps or not but the reason rage/scream do not eject is because they are both siblings and dont want to be alone, i think you may already know but if not you can thank me
If Nemo were unleashed with selfish or evil intentions it'll sounds like something out of Raycrises & Rayforce series where Con-Human controlled the whole world resources & military killing about 98% of humanity civilization until you had to be the humanity last hope to almost letterly fighting the world controlled by a super intelligent computer made by a foolish scientist who tried to fuse a human clone to operate a super computer via i think nero-link ...
Idk in retrospec the ending with Cynthia in ace combat 3 always gave me the willys, more so then any of the other endings, it’s not even “scary” it’s where I started seeing something was fundementally wrong (in the good way) where Cynthia starts thanking you and saying that she will follow you back to Neucom or they could run off together. Typically this is where the game would have you triumphantly fly into the sunset. But it didn’t Instead Cynthia waited for a response and when nothing came back she asked “are you there?” I couldn’t really put into words why it bugged me on the first playthrough so much but it was one of the things that tipped off the underlying existentialism of ac3 Nemo already checked out, he was reset to the next simulation. Everything is not real This triumphant moment was completely subverted and even in the moment I knew it was being subverted more then I could understood It wasn’t “scary” but it was definitely a thru the looking glass moment for me
I agree with all of thesebig time However, an honorable mention I would pit is anything to do with the Gleipnir and it's shock cannon Like seriously the idea of a weapon that can possibly completely VAPORIZE everyone and everything in the vicinity of the attack is kinda horrifying and sounds like it should be awar crime lol
In my opinion Last Resort from Ace Combat AH Legacy is the scariest. You've just taken back St. Ark when you are ordered to destroy the last Dragonet sub. It launches a nuclear cruise missile that you have to destroy with your guns, and if you fail to shoot it down before it detonates Olsen sounds so defeated saying "Saint Ark, is gone."
Tbh AC3s plot is basically building up IRL rn. We have. - A wholelot of businesses overtaking the might of all others. *just look at that one corperation in the pharmacy department and no I am not goanna mention it's namd due to the auto-tag system since last year* - the Electrosphere equivalent has the highest chance of being developed due to Meta being a thing now. - the constant lost in the Importance of countries and human life in general is increasing. Just Think about it...
Personally, my scariest moment was in Ace Combat 3D, Extra Mission 4. After entering the fortress tunnel, I barely remembered the AWACS saying I would have to do a U-turn because the bomb doors would be closed, unlike the original mission where you fly out normally (like in Megalith). I was barely able to pull it off, and took 99% damage after crashing into the wall. When I escaped, I was horrified to realize all 4 ZOE aircraft were there to wreck my şhït.
I don't remember which Ace combat it was because i didn't get very far in these games (i was bad) but i remember the mission just after being me and the crew shooting unmanned drones out of the sky and Talking about how it's a lot more Relieving because there's no humans getting shot down... But the mission just before that, Going in with my crew and Gunning as best i can, then i just hear: "... Those are people, floating in the waves..." Something about that haunted me and i can't quite explain it.
Im one of the people who played both the Japanese AC3 and the international version as a kid, I understood nothing but shooting down what's in the map. As I grew up and the translated version of AC3 was released (thanks for Project Aces), I began to understand what's really happening, as well as the the dark sides of the story which really got me horrified. The story of AC3 is somewhat related to what is happening in our world. Take Facebook for example. It's objective is to acquire as many apps as they can. Could they possibly take over the whole social media and (maybe) become a mega cooperation? The same thing with Elon Musk trying to acquire companies / building tunnels as their own structure, who knows what is he building next. Could these two (Zuckerburg & Musk) be the mega-cooperate in the future? Also Musk is starting to sink into human's brain, attempting to get some of the memories / dreams downloaded into a computer. As the time advances, things are getting scarier and scarier.
Mine is time limit, you take out a toxin division using chemical weapons poisoning santa elva, a populous city. as a kid this was the first time i was exposed to the idea of chemical warfare. santa elva is greenish in this level, the soundtrack is horrifying, and the hamlet unit has the most uniquely creepy voice compared to other land units. The worst part? the chemical agent you are carrying has a sensitive fuselage and thus you are forced to fly slowly or you'll blow up. The first time i failed this mission because i was too slow creeped me out because of the fridge horror of a succesful chemical attack on a city.
5- instead of Shamrock losing , i think its what comes after. Find out Estovakia had one ace in their sleeve. A MASSIVE railgun who can snipe across a continent and speed on how the shell flies, let alone sheer number of enemy planes again as if you didn't make dent on their forces, while i notice most of them seem to act as decoys against you for either distract attention from the shells. 4- People never mentioned this, but AC5 Journey Home is both sad and scary if you think about it. You lose your 3rd wingman and a likeable character. And suddenly you're giving a cinematic and 10 seconds of non reinforcements before they arrives again in sheer numbers, so you're fighting again , but what make it scary is how the game make you switch from sadness to rage in amost a snap, and somehow you and the other 2 wingmans became capable of taking that sheer number against all odds. Basically , the 3 became the real demon for the enemy forces. 3- AC Zero Mission 10 and 11 as is self-explain here. But i put both back to back for one single reason: How hopeless the game can make you feel in one instant. Literally the sheer dreadness from mission 10, the way the music turn from inspiring to down-right horror as you heard everything over the radio, from dead civilians to the point of said "abandon Hoffnung" or translated the last word, "abandon hope", even change both wingmans on the process. Then it comes mission 11 as if it wasn't worst. 1st, if you remember dates , you may reconozing the day where the 7 nukes take part on the story of AC5 and its location. THEN you had to do a race against time for see who of the bombers has nuclear ordinance, as even you had for the 1st time enemy pilots deserting, or even going full speed to flee out , or even down-right helping you as well (even if they are label as yellow targets). After that the flash, the interface screw , and last but not least ........ your wingman betrays you in the middle of the chaos before flee off. 2- The implications of the AI program in AC7. Is downright scary of how the drones became literally automated to the point of gun down enemies and allies alike after you destroy the satelite network. And even the fact who they basically try to imitate the player's movement in the middle of the fight, making seems as you're fighting a copy of yourself the entire time, even more when you think Mikhail was tough, despite been in his old age at that moment. 1- AC3 convoluted story and how seems to not make sense after the middle until you start to conect the dots. AND then it make so much sense to who you are and what the game was the entire time, even at the end where is reveal what this is was. Literally , it was "all a dream".
My scariest moment was geopelia mission Your finally done fighting the night raven wich to me was a pain in the ass and it was just me left in general rescourse Until a news broadcast show multipel XR900 fighters Me knowing i had fought the night raven it was gonna be an impossible task to complete together with the soundtrack it was pretty creepy especially towards the end I had more questions then awnsers
The moment Full Band was shot down was the moment I knew the whole war was meaningless, we're willing to kill each other just because someone knew a little too much. That's what scares me about AC7.
My personal bet is the *TRUE* final boss of Legacy. Finish Extra Mission #4, U-turn out of Fortress Intolerance and *SURPRISE, BITCH!* Four Z.O.E. FALKENs equipped with lasers and PSMs to the tune of the most horrifying boss theme in the series! And to make things worse, it's possibly the second hardest superboss in the series, outmatched only by Phoenix himself in Ace difficulty Operation X.
@@LiteBosmark If we're going by strictly their Ace Difficulty fights, Scarface One is the single hardest dogfight in the franchise, beyond even Mobius One and the ISEV Guardians. He's obscenely fast, can go behind you in less than 3 seconds, absolutely relentless, dodges missiles at the last fucking second and you have to go out of your way to make him your last target.
The scariest part of the Shamrock one is that during the aircraft select, Shamrock is completely and totally SILENT. Mission 14 Shamrock is truly a man who has lost the will to live

A fact about "Hoffnung" is this word means "hope" in German, so, when it's said "abandon Hoffnung" It obviously means "get out of this city" and also "give up on hope"
in other words abandon hope
Deeply saddening in a way. I felt horrible playing that mission
Now why did that sounded like a soviet tank commander telling them to abandon their hope?
ace combat 3 is so creepy that it impressed in my mind when i was a kid, it became my favourite ac ever lol
What's even scarier about the Rage and Scream fight is that, after shooting one down, if you prolong the fight, they start to hallucinate the other sibling still being alive. It's really freakish.

That was horrifying to listen to.
Also mission 1 from Assault Horizon. It's just a dream but imagine seeing a plane about to hit you mid air (even though it's a terrible idea)
Chopper dying just hit different
And considering how painful Rage and Scream can be to hit, it’s not terribly difficult to prolong the fight
My top 5 would be:
5- asteroids falling on AC INF mission 8
4- trinity exploding for the first time in Assault Horizon
3- the 7 nukes
2- Geopelia
1- AC3 when Rena's cutscenes end and the colors get reversed and Rena talks on a scary way (those who seen the cutscene with Rena's narration and memories know what I'm talking about)

2.- Dision-nemo fight in the electrosphere

Honorable mentions: Whenever Morceaux plays. Seriously, creepiest track in the entire series

Idk, something to do with a lightshow and Usea's biggest firework display in the middle of the ocean? Not quite sure either
@@skeletonwguitar4383 they're implying said thumps are megalith doing its work.
Suppose it was all the astroids hitting the Earth and the Young Erusean Officers trying to recreate the same tragedy that led to the war
that mission briefing was so goddang scary fr, just as it was announced that erusea was basically gonna nuke the whole world with asteroids
the scariest moment for me is how Strider 2 "Jaeger" kept saying he's gonna tell that story to his son
like man, do you have a deathwish?
AC3 granted him immense plot armor
I really feel like the satellite destruction in 7 where all the world’s communications went down really deserves more credit.
Imagine being in a completely different country, completely cut off from your family or superiors, and you have no idea what’s going on everywhere else either. Your only source of information is just rumours
This. While we know about civil conflicts that broke out i can't imagine the chaos that would unfold. People went into Madden over a lack of *toilet paper* i can't imagine what it would look like if all commutation went down
At least theres less rumours floating around considering the internet is already bad enough with rumours
The briefing after the mission freaked me cuz I actually thought my gpu broke
It basically lays the foundation for the Electrosphere in a way
I don't exactly have a top 5 ready but I can give some insight on some pretty spooky missions:
AC X Time Limit: One of those missions both terrifying mechanically and atmospherically.
"AC X Time Limit"
Please dont remind of that hell of a mission
Even now im still having a hard time on easy mode
I dont even wanna know what its like in hard or even ace mode
The time limit is indeed creepy especially to the game's bgm
@@randomperson5775 Ace mode is a nightmare. I waste 5 hours trying to S rank that mission alone.
ace combat 3 bug hunt mission
this mission is really scary because on that timeline planes equip with a COFFIN cockpit so it does not need a window.
The Gleipnir theme song in Ace Combat X, It might not seem much but my god Is It scary when you think how deadly can the Gleipnir can be
Megalith from Ace Combat 4 too.
The Spiridus raining down hell on London. You're in London, having a good day, then some big-ass airplane starts to shoot whats basically lightning down to the roads. Yikes.
@@outrundoubtrun-lemonadeart682 not as much as the Gleipnir tho
Ace Combat Joint Assault for me Is Just extra missions for X, with worse physics, worse soundtrack (excluding In The Zone and the old songs from the First 3 games)
I wish PA actually made a decent Ace Combat X successor
Edit: mostly because X Is the lastest "Modern" Ace Combat game, After X it's 3, and I'm curious to what happened After all those years
Surely Belka Will still plot some Revenge or even a new game based on Nordennavic (no, I'm not saying Northern Wings, but a new title)

a fully 3d rendition of AC NW made in unreal, with better aircraft
2:08 Torres: Yo ho ho, I see ye be having a dramatic moment up there, but I’m about to bomb ye to Davy Jones.
The ZOE reveal cutscene right before Dark Blue was creepy. It was like Skynet all over again. 👻
Happy late Halloween!
He begins to realize that he is no more than a videogame character, suffering from countless deaths and even asking you
"If you hadn't existed, the world would be ........" which his next words might be manipulated by Simon so that he forgets what he would say next.
When you put it like that, the entirety of Electrosphere is a scary moment
And to top this off. It wasn't even Dysion's fault as well. It was General Reource's fault.
i haven't played many AC games but personally my favorite scary moment (aside from PW's Prospero mission plot twist) was the Gleipnir from ACX
the Gleipnir was terrifying; a huge, black flying fortress with the ability to make anything below it disintegrate in a flash, with missiles that can do the same thing from miles away, all complemented with the terrifying cloak mechanism, making it seem like a beast appearing out of thin air only to cause instantaneous, unforgiving destruction
the fight itself was scary, paired with the anxiety-driving music it felt like dueling an enormous beast in the skies; not to mention the part where the captain flips the entire thing upside-down like??? that thing's already scary enough to fight normally and now you pull this trump card???
edit: so i read in a comment that the howling in the Gleipnir's boss music was the Gleipnir's engines running to keep the thing afloat
bro.
Yeah, the final level of Ace Combat 3 was creepy.
Honestly the entirety of Electrosphere was creepy as hell.
The arkbird making high G turns right in front of you never fails to make me shit myself
Just imagine that Rage and Scream were hired by General Resource! That same General Resource you see and choose to fight for in Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere...
#5: Just plain sad
#4: Crazy psychopath that harms me and others for no reason and indiscriminately... Meh, just unsettled by the audio but if they want to get killed, fine by me. Torres is scarier
#3: Nukes? Yup, nukes.
#2:
#1: So this is what it feels like to be on a bad acid trip
In my personal rankings, Ace Combat 3 just has an outright monopoly on a list like this. It'd take expanding it to a Top 10 or Top 15 for other games to get a chance to shine.
In theory, nemo or dision could control more than one aircraft at the same time (we see nemo controlling 2 during a mission), so any network dision could get in, he'd have an army. Which I think are the case for the aircraft protecting the ourobouros blimp
Scream: I don't wanna live! Kill me!!!!
Count: Take that asshole! 😎
I'm surprised there wasn't more moments from AC3. That game is easily the darkest game in the franchise with the most unsettling moments in that game alone.
my only top scary ace combat: the existance of assault horizon
hofnung is the most war crime per meter mission in Ace Combat games.
And also one of the most heart breaking mission, because hearing people crying, screaming and knowing there's nothing to do but just die is just sadic and morbid.
This mission is probaly the most sadic, war crime and also the worst thing that Osea did in the Strangereal world (in my opinion)
what really scares me on Ace Combat 3, is the theme that you hear on Electrosphere or hacking the Geopelia
that choir is what sells the creepiness
Great video! The scariest moment i had was when i "shot down" the former president on my first run. I was super scared about what i had done.
It was insane the first time too. I didn't realised the drone in the cutscene first.
Having to kill, "Scream" and then starting to fell sorry for here, thanks to AWACS saying don't lose your cool.
Rip scream Press f for Respects
The first time I saw the Hreslverg, it scared the shit out of me, I wanted to turn back to base lol

We all agree that AC3 is the creepiest game of the franchise. Story, music, ambientation...
My list is probably
-AC3 Japan GR2 M18 Geopelia - Morceaux kicking on as you fly out to an enemy bombing civilians, and knowing you're the only one who can stop them unsettles you, and then you hack into the XR-900
- AC7 M15 Battle for Farbanti - The satellites all going down and the feeling of apocalypse shook me to the core when I first played it
- AC6 M14 City Lights - The Stauros firing at Gracemeria... just...
- ACI M5 Far Eastern Front - Camilla just firing on a bailed-out Slash (which is a warcrime) and just chuckling horrified me
- AC0 M12 TSoA - The nukes, Pixy, the unnerving silence...
Hey if i have a monster in the air on my side i know am safe but if it's against me you bet you ass am gonna do everything to shot it down
MOBIUS 1 IN RADAR WERE ALL DEA-
*mobius one destroys 8 different ground building simultaneously*
Yellow Squadron showing up for the first time during my first playthrough of AC04 as a kid was pretty scary, especially when I tried to fight them, only to realize I couldn’t kill them. Stonehenge firing on you for the first time was insane too.
Another scary moment would be missions 17 and 18+ in AC5
The nukes going off in Zero, and Pixy defecting immediately after was nuts too, as well as Pixy showing up out of nowhere and killing PJ at the end.
But I think the scariest moment would be in Infinity when Slash bailed out and the drones vaporized him in midair with their laser weapons. (Can you imagine if Hugin and Munin did that to Wit in 7?)
Honorable mention (only reason for this being an honorable mention is that this isn’t an Ace Combat game): any time Cordium weapons are deployed in Project Wingman
You mean the mission where you have to destroy some solar panels and stuff and some generators but then they alerted stonehenge so you had to go through the trench while legit entire layers of ground were being pulverized?
Thanks for making this video, I love horror stuff, happy Halloween!
I would put on the list, silent playing during the final briefing of AC04, that song is nothing more than a creepy noise of asteroids hitting strangereal (I guess it's asteroids, THEORIES)
another moment that I would've putted is the Final cutscene from ace combat infinity, the mobius one's emblem red colored, allied with the creepy song of the cutscene made me feel scared when I was a child, like as if our hero turned into an villain
Nobody knows true fear…
*until you bring an A-10 on a mission and Yellow Squadron shows up*
im not sure if this helps or not but the reason rage/scream do not eject is because they are both siblings and dont want to be alone, i think you may already know but if not you can thank me
If Nemo were unleashed with selfish or evil intentions it'll sounds like something out of Raycrises & Rayforce series where Con-Human controlled the whole world resources & military killing about 98% of humanity civilization until you had to be the humanity last hope to almost letterly fighting the world controlled by a super intelligent computer made by a foolish scientist who tried to fuse a human clone to operate a super computer via i think nero-link ...
Who agrees Captain Mattias Torres' laugh at the end of Ten Million Relief plan was... oof
But it didn’t
Instead Cynthia waited for a response and when nothing came back she asked “are you there?”
I couldn’t really put into words why it bugged me on the first playthrough so much but it was one of the things that tipped off the underlying existentialism of ac3
Nemo already checked out, he was reset to the next simulation.
Everything is not real
This triumphant moment was completely subverted and even in the moment I knew it was being subverted more then I could understood
It wasn’t “scary” but it was definitely a thru the looking glass moment for me
I agree with all of thesebig time
However, an honorable mention I would pit is anything to do with the Gleipnir and it's shock cannon
Like seriously the idea of a weapon that can possibly completely VAPORIZE everyone and everything in the vicinity of the attack is kinda horrifying and sounds like it should be awar crime lol
Activace: *sarcastically says "Belka did nothing wrong"
Also Activace 30 seconds later: "Conveniently leaves out that Osea firebombed Hoffnan"
That Electrosphere moment actually got me very excited
In my opinion Last Resort from Ace Combat AH Legacy is the scariest. You've just taken back St. Ark when you are ordered to destroy the last Dragonet sub. It launches a nuclear cruise missile that you have to destroy with your guns, and if you fail to shoot it down before it detonates Olsen sounds so defeated saying "Saint Ark, is gone."
I would have had The Ulysses Disaster as my top choice. Ehat would we think/do when we know that a massive asteroid is going to strike earth?
Most common scary part is endless missile alert
Tbh AC3s plot is basically building up IRL rn.
We have.
- A wholelot of businesses overtaking the might of all others. *just look at that one corperation in the pharmacy department and no I am not goanna mention it's namd due to the auto-tag system since last year*
- the Electrosphere equivalent has the highest chance of being developed due to Meta being a thing now.
We knew the nukes would eventually go off in zero because we all played 5 before it.
2:16 "I was having fun, but they weren't."
Ay two vids in one day, love it
I don't remember which Ace combat it was because i didn't get very far in these games (i was bad) but i remember the mission just after being me and the crew shooting unmanned drones out of the sky and Talking about how it's a lot more Relieving because there's no humans getting shot down...
But the mission just before that, Going in with my crew and Gunning as best i can, then i just hear:
"... Those are people, floating in the waves..."
Something about that haunted me and i can't quite explain it.
My scariest moment was failing to shoot the missile in AC2 and forced to watch the ending
Hoffnung Bombing was representing NATO Bombing of Belgrade and Allied forces bombing of Dresdene
Ngl i would love to have Ace Combat game where we fight creepy UFO or Anomalies
The PS 2 sound after Pixy reset the console

1.AC 3 true ending
I hear Geopelia soundtrack for electrosphere 😍
A minor correction, but Estovakia had the railgun Chandelier. Emmeria only found out about it after the cruise missile onslaught was stopped.

I know this is an old comment, but how does Phoenix Operation X compare to Mobius fight in Zero's The Gauntlet mission?
@@LiteBosmark If we're going by strictly their Ace Difficulty fights, Scarface One is the single hardest dogfight in the franchise, beyond even Mobius One and the ISEV Guardians.
