- Here is the DAS M4A1 from GBLS, a south Korean airsoft brand. The DAS M4A1 is, strictly speaking, an AEG, but it works with an actual bolt carrier which really makes it feel like a GBBR. In theory, you get pretty much the best from both worlds : the realistic handling and feelings from a GBBR and the stability and reliability from an AEG.
The model I have here is a limited edition, which is extremely expensive (2500 USD !). In the future, a mass production model should be available, for a unknown price yet (but it should be much less expensive, obviously).
When I first got the gun in January 2017, I was skeptical since the model I received had reliability issues. But now that I received an upgraded model, it worked flawlessly so far and I really, really like it.
The model I have has a power of 335 FPS with 0.20 gr bbs. It's possible to hit a human target up to 50 meters.

Voici le M4A1 DAS de chez GBLS, une marque d'airsoft sud coréenne. Le M4A1 DAS est, à proprement parler, un AEG, mais il fonctionne avec un vrai bolt carrier qui donne l'impression d'utiliser un GBBR. En théorie, on obtient le meilleur des deux mondes : la manipulation réaliste et les sensations d'un GBBR avec la stabilité et la fiabilité d'un AEG.
Le modèle que j'ai ici est une édition limitée qui coûte très cher (2500 USD !). Dans le futur, une version "de série" sera dispo mais son prix est inconnu pour le moment (mais elle devrait être beaucoup moins chère...).
Quand j'ai reçu la réplique en janvier 2017, j'étais sceptique car le modèle que j'ai reçu fonctionnait très mal. Mais depuis que ma réplique a été révisée/upgradée, elle fonctionne vraiment très bien pour le moment et elle m'enthousiasme vraiment beaucoup.
Le modèle que j'ai tourne à 335 FPS à la 0.20 gr environ. Je peux toucher une cible de taille humaine jusqu'à 50 mètres.

For $2500 they should at least engrave the markings.
South Korean replica firearm laws are already strict as it is.
For 2500 bucks, i want real steel like upper and lower receivers, you know, no cast, milled aircraft grade aluminium only.

Please note that the one in this clip is a full CNC limited version which explains the price. The non-limited version is die-casted and has engraved markings: a colt version or DAS version.

This is true. The mass production model is die casted, while the limited version is full CNC. The mass version will run for around $1,500. Still expensive for most people, but you have to understand this is a relatively new company producing only a small amount of guns compared to VFC and Marui. Things will get better after time.

Reminds me of the M4/M16's Real Sword teased a few years back, but never released.
this tech is gonna be studied and utilized by other aeg companies by mid to late next year. Price is gonna drop a lot too. That makes this DAS aeg more affordable.

Pour le coup c'est vraiment une révolution, le prix freine beaucoup mais avec un peut de temp, les entreprises vont récupéré le système et ont devrais avoir une diminution du prix. Donc patience...
ça va sûrement faire comme a&k qui a sorti un ptw pour moins de 400$ et qui était une bonne base pour un lourd upgrade
J'avais plus en vue polarstar, rattraper avec mancraft et wolverine, daytona (et bien d'autre ) qui ont participé a la réduction non négligeable du prix de l'hpa .

This really does seem like its going to be revolutionary if it lives up to its hype. Its still lacking an extra 2-3 bb/sec on the ROF to be perfect, 11 bb/sec is too low even compared to the real M4A1. Also there is really no excuse for not having engraved markings on a $2500 replica, ideally they should license Colt trademarks for it since its aimed at the milsim market. Likewise 120rd midcaps are needed, 45/60rd mags are not enough, there's no reason to limit mag capacity unlike GBBRs which are limited by gas. Lastly I'd like to see a front wired version so that different kinds of stocks can be used.

Very nice review of a very nice weapon! I'm quite interested in this gun, can't wait till it comes out non-limited. Couple of questions though: Is it possible to customise the externals, more specifically, removing the rear sight and installing a RIS handguard? And can the gun support internal upgrades (apart from the barrel and hopup rubber) or is everything proprietary?
Externally you can pretty much do whatever you want. I've thrown a free-float RIS on my copy and have altered a couple other thing (Charging handle, dust cover, ect.)
Internally, you can essentially get a different bolt carrier group to adjust your FPS limits, as that contains your spring and piston. Outside of that you are pretty much limited to changing out your barrel unless you want to do a full tear down, as alot of the internals are not necessarily proprietary, but more so just a PITA to get disassembled.

As homeworldful mentionned you can change the external (I'm not sure if it's mil spec of AEG spec or anything though). Regarding the internal, I think everything is proprietary.
Were you able to switch out the grip for something different? They really should be shipping these out with the standard A2 grip.
Give it a year, the price should drop down to at least 20%. It's in its introduction stage and is a relatively new company in the airsoft market so I am not surprised by its price tag. GBLS is currently the only company that owns the DAS technology so they are price maker in this niche market. It needs a large fund to support their spending on developing cost, which translates to the high price tag. Once their product got reverse engineered by other airsoft companies, the price should drop down even more given that they are able to reverse engineer this DAS aeg. I imagine that we can get our hands on one of these rifles in at least a year or so without having to pay almost 2 grand on it. BE PATIENT people!!

Attend là... c'est moi où il y en a un qui commence à avoir de sacrés biceps ? Très belle réplique en tout cas. Quant au prix, ma foi, il me semble on ne peut plus justifié : tout le travail en R et D doit bien se retrouver quelques part. Hâte de voir ce que ça va donner lorsque ça sortira en série, même si je pense que l'on restera malgré tout dans les tarifs "haut de gamme". En tout cas, après "l'échec" du MTO, ça fait plaisir de voir que des boites continuent à innover dans notre domaine. Le prix constitue malheureusement un gros frein tho...même si une garantie à vie, c'est quand même plus que sympa.
Il faudra voir le prix de la version en série (même si bon, faut pas se faire d'illusion, ça fera quand même mal) et aussi de voir si le système sera reprit par d'autre marque, pour des prix plus abordables...

comme il l'a dit dans la première vidéo, quand il a reçu la réplique, elle ne fonctionnait pas et après 2 allers retours chez le fabricant (à leur frais) tout fonctionnait nickel

Oui, et c'est curieux parce que je ne vois pas pourquoi la détente aurait "besoin" d'être dure. Visiblement GBLS a pas mal marketé pour en faire un "outil d'entrainement" à destination des forces de l'ordre, du coup ils veulent peut-être que ce soit réaliste de ce point de vue là.

Currently, it's way too overpriced. However, since this is the first of its kind, we will be seeing more hybrid type guns like this. More supply means it's going to get more affordable

réplique intéressante, mais le prix est vraiment excessif car il parle de nouvelle technologie, oui, tout assemblé, car c'est une rassemblement de plusieurs système, et quand on regarde le "nouveau" en enlevant ce qui existe déjà (comme le tube de crosse, le corps de la réplique, et bien il ne reste que 2 voir 3 assemblement qui est la gearbox et le système du piston ça me fait penser à un SRS A1 de silverback qui c'est accouplé avec une M4 xD, ici le prix est vraiment excessive, mais en même temps c'est une version "spécial" à voir quand la série va sortir (mais le pire, +/- 2000€ pour un kit complet >

Fleau_195 oui, il est vrais que la marque est encore "jeune" et que ce système n'a encore jamais été vu, mais aussi il on fait ce prix pour freiner les ventes et avoir de vrais retour sur leur produits à ce prix la, c'est des personne sérieuse et non des "kikou" mais même pour les personnes sérieuse, ce prix la x) je pourrais la prendre en fin d'année si je veux mais j'attend comme j'ai dis plus haut le modèle de série

Late reply. But yes an no. People are 3D printing their own adaptors for standard AEG magazines where it sits in the mag well. Some got them to work with the mag catch as well to lock the bolt back. Some have as well made the files available to allow others to 3D print them. Other than that the mags are proprietary.

It makes no sense for GBLS to be charging this high of the price. I guess they are marketing their products to high end players and security training companies
I like it for one reason:
I completely despise aegs mainly for how unrealistic they are, and the annoying cheap sounding whine they make, they sound like cheap nerf guns, but this doesn’t have that annoying whine at all and looks somewhat useable, not as good as a actual gbbr and way more costly but eh, it’s good for a aeg, and the closest thing to good a aeg will ever be, and as close to as good as a gbb a aeg will ever be

Oui, c'est quand même pas pareil. Un GBBR reste un GBBR, ça a plus de "punch" et le son produit lors du tir est bien différent.
Disons que sur une échelle de 10 au niveau du kick/réalisme ressenti avec une réplique, je mettrais 5/10 pour un M4 Marui EBBR, 8/10 avec le M4A1 DAS et 9/10 pour un M4 GBBR.

South Korea's airsoft regulation is quite tight.
muzzle velocity is limited to 0.2j (144fps) and need to attach orange tip.
optic's regulation is quite tight too(idk why) no zeroing and zoom adjustment feature allowed
related law is so ambiguous that cops can easily arrest airsoft players to rise their arrest record.
S.Korea's medias often broadcast airsoft gun like real gun by put steel ball baring and shoot towards to beer bottle or car window(and saying this airsoft gun has real gun's power and reality to easily kill or harm people)

Les EBBR ont un système dit de "recoil shock". Ce sont des AEG relativement normaux, mais le cycle du piston bouge également une masse (à l'intérieur du tube de crosse dans le cas d'un M4) qui, par inertie, donne un kick à la réplique. Il y a aussi un système d'arrêt de tir électronique qui coupe la Gear Box quand le chargeur est vide.
J'aime beaucoup les EBBR moi-même, mais leurs sensations sont très "artificielles".
La grosse différence avec ce M4A1 DAS, c'est que le kick est provoqué réellement par le mouvement d'un bolt carrier, et que l'arrêt de tir en fin de chargeur bloque réellement le bolt carrier en arrière. En terme de feeling, c'est très différent.
Sans compter le démontage plus réaliste.
