Im a fire warmage 180k bp can still beat the top fire chaos mage in our server 190+k bp in dps showdown. Its true chaos mage has the best damage but if war mage reach 500+ combo it will outclass the chaos mage who have slow skill cd. My recommendation use chaos mage partner with light.
i tried this build with a FD agi pet works wonder at all forms except pvp can even contest some glad/arti even inquis. works even better with shackles if you have a light war mage for dragon lairs. i was losing hope for sorceress class since we dont have the warrior/archer treatment then i found the hybrid build. thanks for the build !
I compared this Fire Chaos Mage build with Agi gear, Runes + Agi pet vs Water Chaos Mage with Power Gear, Runes + Power Pet and the water version deals similar damage in the initial 20 second one skill use like you show , but if you use both builds over several minutes, this build loses out a lot of damage compared to water part.
I'm not able to test it anymore (I already quit), but your statement holds value. Conventional Chaos Mage builds are better on long drawn-out fights iirc, but for burst scenarios, this Fire Chaos Mage is the best you can do out of a sorc.
Fair enough, you should title it "best burst damage" instead of best DPS and even so, from my testing in the same 20 seconds span , water deals more damage anyway, it's because you can trigger black hole cluster with 80% more damage

Maybe the higher BP cap changed the damage scalings, maybe you have an FD build (mine was crit build iirc), lots of possibilities in having the meta changed that's beyond my knowledge now. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sira agad ang combo kasi War Mage lang ang mayroong Astral Pull. Sayang din na wala kang Time Warp pang support sa party mo. Requirement talaga na Fire ang madami sa Dragon Rune pieces mo, tapos secondary na lang ang Water or Dark (na para ka nang nag conventional Chaos Mage). Wrong skill set bro. Haha it's seem u still not explore the max potential of fire chaos mage. Don't use mirror and black hole. It's useless. Use the stone skill and time wrap for the max dmg. Those 2 skill u use in skill set are useless

Shackles suits well with your FD build. You can utilize your FD to the fullest since your stacks are always high.
