One thing I liked about Sonic Adventure, is the intertwining story lines of the characters. I can't think of another game that does this like Sonic Adventure. It's kinda neat playing Sonic's story line, and seeing Amy running away from a robot in passing. That said, this game does show its age.
I do love this game a ton, the stories while not all great still do stick with me after all these years. I’m super excited to see what they do with Frontiers and it’s other character.
Big the Cat was only super annoying when you were trying to get all the emblems, and then the fishing mechanics become a problem, of how shallow they are/ you can be trying reel that sucker in for like 5 minutes, and for some reason the ground you're standing is ever so slightly wrong and the fish just escapes, or you have to slack up a bit before the line breaks and the fish just goes to the full length of the body of water away from you and you're not exactly making progress in reeling it in. It's just feels so bad going for the heavier fishes. You need the upgrades to make it manageable but even then, it should have had a bit more substance behind it, if it was going to be a main character gameplay style.
that ice cream sonic face looks kinda delicious, not gonna lie sorry to hear you are colorblind. as far as it might help you. the block down right goes to down left. the block up right goes to the up left and vice versa for both. i love your video essays so far. really enjoyable and engaging. it's good to see you realize the game is not perfect but you seem to try and see it for what it is and i love that
This is actually one of, if not the best Sonic Adventure retrospective I've watched. I think I like this video a bit better than J's Reviews and KingK's retrospectives.
I tried my best to not be overly influenced by their videos, but I think I did as good a job as I could staying true to my own thoughts. Thank you so much for watching!
33:44 A very useful part to use the light speed attack is during chaos 6. Once he's frozen, do the light speed attack. Does ALOT more damage than the regular way.
I definitely think it's a lot easier than 2, and there are definitely a lot of things I like in the first game more than the second. I really don't know if I'll ever be able to pick a "favorite" of the two, honestly.
There's something that's just so cozy about Adventure, I used to just run around the overworld for hours because I loved the vibes™. Thank you so much for watching!
One if the things i do to modernize it a little is use a turbo speed mod, which is basically a run button so its sorta like boost but controllable in a chaotic way.

I am actually 13 years old, so I have no nostalgia for this game, so I loved it, I had so much fun with it, I played with every character and loved every part of it (including big the cat) and I have also completed 60% of the challenges. I love this game and this video. Thank you.
Several things, I love the Boost games because the challenges is in keeping your speed up rather than gaining it and I find that a lot of fun. Also, getting Froggy usually isn't that bad, after reading the instructions I'm pretty sure you can get him in seconds if you play right. Can't say anything about the harder sections, but going for 100% is usually "something" depending on the game.
SA 1 was a good game and I still like it, but SA2 was a such a step above it that I might not play the first one nearly as much, although I do play it, I usually play both games after each other, you know once every other year or so I'll play SA2 I might just do SA 1along with it, but almost never just SA 1 by itself.

Yeah. This game was kind of tedious at first but it’s way easier than Sonic Adventure 2 tbh.

Not a terrible idea! Would definitely help with some of the Amy and Big sections, I'll have to look into that when I play again.
