    Thank you for a really good review as I bought this during lockdown and did not think the dough hook worked well but seeing your demonstration I see where I was going wrong so going to try it again.

    I loved this video, I've been deciding for a while what stand mixer to get, the baking community makes you feel that getting a KA is the only option and if you don't have one your not cool enough. Although they are lovely mostly the lush colours they come in, but the price is off putting (considering the circumstances of the pandemic, everyone is shopping a lot more cautiously now) some comments for a KA have been negative mostly towards their lower price range of mixers. Funny enough, I only want a stand mixer to make buttercream, I prefer to use a hand mixer for my cake batter. This stand mixer fits within my budget. Thank you again for this lovely review. 🧁

      @allthingsmumlifeuk6929  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Lorisha!
      Thank you for your comment and I completely agree with you about KA!
      If you’re on a budget then I recommend this Russell Hobbs stand mixer as it works great and no need to spend more on a KA!

    Use mine for kneading dough. Real shame there is no handle on the bowl. I'll have to make one. Gets hot mixing dough! You can smell the gear grease. Only mix dough on number 1.

    Hi, loved the review! I've been looking for an affordable stand mixer and this has definitely made me want to purchase!
    I was reading the part of the manual that says to use for a max 10 mins, before leaving to cool for 20 mins and this worries me a little as i'd like to make American buttercream which could take a little longer than 10 mins. Have you used the stand for a long duration and does it heat up a lot?

    • @allthingsmumlifeuk6929
      @allthingsmumlifeuk6929  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello and apologies for my late reply!
      I have used this stand mixer for over 10mins at a time and haven’t noticed any overheating issues, I would say the most I have used it for at one time is maybe around 12 mins.. so from my experience it can handle fairly long periods of time!
      I hope that helps and happy baking & homemaking!

    Question: How big is the bowl and does it come in sizes? i'm looking to purchase this but they're website is not very clear. They're showing a description of both 3.5L and 5L mixing bowl so it's a bit confusing.

      P13 inches long by 13 inches high with a depth of 10 inches (at the widest point when the mixing bowl is on the stand).
      in CMs that is 33cm long by 33cm high with a depth of 25.5cm (at the widest point when the mixing bowl is on the stand).
      In short: INCH: 13L x 13H x 10D / CM: 33L x 33H x 25.5D

    Great review! I am choosing between Kitchenaid Classic 4.5Q and this one. Not apple to apple comparison but in terms of price, relatively similar. You did a great review so I think my heart is leaning towards RH over KA 💕

    • @allthingsmumlifeuk6929
      @allthingsmumlifeuk6929  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Riztravels andunravels!
      Thank you for your positive feedback, it is much appreciated!
      I would say go for the RH if you want to save pennies and have a more than adequate stand mixer!! I know those KA are extremely pricey so I would say if you think you will use the KA a lot and for professional use then KA but if it's just for yourself & family bakes then go for RH, that's what I did and honestly i am still chuffed with this stand mixer!
      Perhaps in the future if I went professional with my baking then I would look to a KA, but here in the UK KA machines are quite pricey!
      I hope my review has helped and please don't forget to subscribe for more content like this!
      Happy baking and may you be in the best of health!

    Hi thanks for the. Review, for me I am disappointed by this machine. I’ve just bought this machine in last October and been away for almost three months. When I came back in mid Jan I have used it a few times for making breads. It stopped while it was kneading after less than 10 minutes. I didn’t know before that this machine have been made for automatic stopping when reach to 10 minutes? Almost brought back to the shop, I bought from, after carefully reading the book, which actually doesn’t help much. It states you should stop the machine after 10 minutes used and can start again after 20 minutes. That is how it works. Wonder if your machine does the same? Thanks.

    Hi thank you for the review! I'm a professional baker and was wondering if this would be great for large batches of cake batter?

    • @allthingsmumlifeuk6929
      @allthingsmumlifeuk6929  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      HM 123 hi! And thank you for watching my video & commenting!
      I don’t see why this stand mixer wouldn’t be suitable for large batches, many “old-school” bakeries still make large batches by hand so I am pretty sure this stand mixer can do it too!
      I guess some professionals opt for the “KitchenAid” stand mixer perhaps for the brand name but I think Russell Hobbs is a pretty good stand mixer for professionals too!!
      But as I am not a professional don’t take my word as the final word, it’s just my humble opinion:)
      Happy baking & I wish you and your business much success!!

    • @allthingsmumlifeuk6929
      @allthingsmumlifeuk6929  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      P.S. I just remembered when the stand mixer was forming the bread dough as it got thicker the stand did start to shake a little but it didn’t fall over! But it moved a lot and for a moment I was worried about its stability.
      So perhaps it may be an idea with your cake batter to do it in 2 batches as perhaps a full bowl size would topple the machine! And again it is only made from plastic, perhaps you would need a stand mixer made from a heavy metal to withstand large batches.
      Again hard to judge as I am not a professional and that was just my humble experience :)

      I don't use a dishwasher so personally I can't recommend if these are dishwasher safe.
      However I did research this and according to another retailer who sell this stand mixer (Argos), they state that YES these are dishwasher safe, here is what they have said;
      "Yes, the attachments are dishwasher safe, rust proof and the whisk will reach the bottom of bowl and sides."

      So for the bread I used around 200g of plain flour and for the cake I used the same 200g of self-raising flour, then plus the other ingredients too :) Both just standard mixture quantities.
      Please do let me know if you have any further questions!
      Kind Regards,
      MrsHomeMakerUK

      Hello Emilia,
      Please may you elaborate, do you perhaps mean doubling up in one go in the stand mixer?
      Kind Regards,

    Hi how big the stand mixer ? What is the dimension ? Thanks

      Hi!
      13 inches long by 13 inches high with a depth of 10 inches (at the widest point when the mixing bowl is on the stand).
      in CMs that is 33cm long by 33cm high with a depth of 25.5cm (at the widest point when the mixing bowl is on the stand).
      In short: INCH: 13L x 13H x 10D / CM: 33L x 33H x 25.5D
      Hope that helps!

      Hey mine is completely metal in the mixing part and it attaches but I'm crying I can't get my hook out

      Hi,
      Please check the video at minute 3:07, I show how I remove the attachments.
      You need to push and twist/or the other way around to be able to release the attachment.
      I hope that helps!

      Hi JustMii Prii,
      There are cheaper stand mixers that are similar and I guess it depends on your budget!
      But much more expensive than this stand mixer is the Kitchen aid mixer.
      This stand mixer is cheap compared to the top Kitchen Aid stand mixers!
      Hope that helped :)

      I hope you are well,

      Electrowave I just checked the UK Russell Hobbs website and it appears that the stand mixer page of their website is showing an error message... i have no idea what’s going on there but I have pasted the link below to the stand mixer sold through Argos, I hope that helps! www.argos.co.uk/product/9304745

      @@allthingsmumlifeuk6929 Thank you for that. I also found the error pages, including from a link I followed from their own TH-cam channel. I left a message there but not sure if they monitor their channel. Thank you for your time. This is what my mum wants for her birthday. She wants other attachments, so I hope it isn't discontinued now, although they should still be supporting it with parts and upgrades.
