This is when the word sublime is used. But even that word (or any words) cannot express the sheer beauty (and complexity) of what Keith Jarrett has achieved here. After centuries of extremely beautiful keyboard music composed in different styles by people like Scarlatti, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin, and many many others (including jazz masters like Bill Evans), Keith Jarrett is able to create something so beautiful and unique. Every single note is perfectly placed. If this is an improvisation (even though it is tonal and follows certain common harmonic progressions), the absolutely perfection of Keith Jarrett's choices makes me want to use the word transcendental (or genius, or super human). This video is an important document. It is an artist at its peak, creating music that's going to last forever.
Very much respect your understanding and depth of this improvisation. Your comment truely sums it up perfectly. Keith Jarratt a living Legend - Eddie de Cazalet / Pianist - Improviser A.R.C.T. Toronto Conservatory 1979 *Purple Floyd* utube ( improvised on an 1879 Concert Grand Beckstein )
His sound and touch are so unique, I could recognize him amongst millions... And then when I hear him sing, I know that the world is perfect. Love you, Keith Jarrett
With all the chaos going on in this nation and my life recently, Mr. Jarrett brought tears down my cheeks with this complex and heavenly beauty! Been a very long time music made me cry! This man will never cease to amaze me out of my mind!!! We lost a true Gem in music😔
I've shared this on Facebook a couple times before, but tonight it autoplayed after I pulled up Higdon's 'Blue Cathedral' . Some of the great composers are contemporary Americans.
I think it is technically almost a perfect musical piece in terms of construction and effect .It is also quite beautiful .I play it all the time .Thanks be he did it in his hey day .I wish him well .
Sublime. Te hace adentrarte en algo muy profundo.
You have a wonderful, delicate style. I learn a lot from watching your video. I especially like how you have captured your hands from both the right and left angles. Thanks!
Alhambra.
Jarrett didn't do anything in Tokyo in 2006 according to wikipedia. You don't give any info whatsoever on the album, there's no way to find any record of it anywhere online, no way to identify where this piece is from. Highly frustrating.
Hi, I usually do not respond to comments but your criticisms were valid. This DVD is not as well known as I previously thought it was. I have added information in the description of the video as well as a link to the actual DVD this video is from.

How in the world does he pull this straight out of the ether? What in heaven does Mr. Jarrett tap into?
Precisely. He taps into heaven, and thank God for the view...
thank you Kalymya for working on editing this beautiful solo for Keith Jarrett and releasing to us so we can enjoy it .. thank you man
Thanks Sir Jarret from Brazil

If Mr. Jarrett has been the " sound" of our generation I am glad to be a grain of sand

Every note delicious.
Thanks for uploading this astonishing piece. I wonder why it was not included in Radiance.... Best
Trop beau de regarder la tête de Keith Jarrett , quand il improvise cette MERVEILLE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Awesome!
Envoûtant ...sublime .
Sublime!
Wonderful, agree it should have been included in Radiance.
I will never understand why this was not in Radiance album. It's from the same Tokyo 2002 concert.
This music is beyond everything.
I feel sure it wasn't included because Keith wanted something otherwise unreleased on the DVD.
Yep, I think that could be the only reason
thanks Kalymya
Waaaas??! Wie geil!!

does youtube offer a repeat track?. This is where it is most needed.
Oh. Leuk!
It's good but I miss the old boogie woogie and thunderous gospel chords with the pelvic thrusts... ;)
LOL!
this is 2002 not 2006

This is just incredible piece. Is it recorded on Tokyo solo DVD issued in 2006?
Live in Tokyo, date of recording is 2002 ...

I cannot call this music jazz. Maybe Neoclassical.
I'll tell you what I call it. Brilliant, evocative, glorious, melodic, breathtaking, timeless, and most of all eternal
@@robertcancro5864 love your reply, most excellent !!!
