I recently found your channel and have been binge watching your videos. I love the Christmas tree and grinch one you just did. You have quite the talent! Your videos make me feel like I’m just crafting and chatting with an old friend. Much respect for your art. Thanks for sharing with us.😊
You can also contact window replacment companies, they will give you up to 20lbs of tempered glass free. Then you spray paint it. I'm trying to make a deal with a company for $20.00 for a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket full. They just throw it away
@crazyglasslady Yesss, My brother in law is a painter at an autobody repair shop. I took home all the windows they replaced and has 10-15 window's windshields waiting for me. Aparently autobody places just throw them out too. There's a ton of free tempered glass oit there if people would just call around.
This is the second video Ive gotten to see from you. I love your glass art. I also think that your are precious and needs to be protected at all cost! 🥰
Thanks for the info. I’m new to glass art and hope to work on my first project soon. I have been watching many of your old videos. I’m so happy I found your channel!
Does anyone use tempered glass? I do to cover paint swipes and make mirrors. I get it at the glass and mirror shop. Last time it was only $10 for a 5 gallon bucket! I’ve used it for a walkway on a Christmas house I built, a 36” mirror in my bathroom, grouted it for the frame. I’ve put the back in paint making fractures? Neat designs anyway. Even stamped words on the back. I love the designs the larger pieces have in them. Neat to make paintings and then cover with the glass and grout, cover tables, the list goes on! Hope this inspires you
@@crazyglasslady yes, I believe so. They use shower doors, windshields, etc at the glass place. All of it was clear so I think mostly shower doors that they replace, sure is cheap and some big beautiful pieces. Were you tired of your hubby being on the boat? Lol
Yeah, he actually works for a boat company and they had an old windshield they were getting rid of but it was not clear. It was a very light blue. It turned out real pretty
Thank you Linda. My favorite is definitely Michaels. Like you mentioned, the seasonal when it goes on sale. Great information as always. Enjoy your weekend. 😊💖
If you have Ikea near by they have some glass its similar to the glass at Michael's. If you have a store called At Home they also have limited crushed glass and flat backs.
We have an At Home right down the street bit I have never seen crushed glass I have seen that they have flat backs. Is it more like stones? Ikea never thought of them I will check it out next time I go up. They are about an hour away. Thanks!
Such great info I appreciate. Thank you Linda. I have to say our Hobby Lobby in Ca is not as well stocked with stained glass or the other sections you have shown but thankful they have most of what I need.
I need to make one just on coloring but I do have one talking about the different ways tocolor and complications. So kind of here it isth-cam.com/video/XLFGzqaRDi0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kS2aI6Y8Warg-R7L
No, I don’t really crush any of my own glass. I break up glass, to make faux sea glass and nip glass to make flower petals but the crushed glass like that size and smaller is like the chunky glass from Michael’s and they have it on sale all the time. But I have seen people use the glass gems. And heat them then dump i ice water and smash with a hammer.
So whenever you’re going to Michael’s, what you should do is go online and it will show you if they have glass at that store or not and what glass they have in and if they have in what you’re interested in, you can buy it online to be picked up in that store then they will get it and save it for you because you never know in two hours. By the time you get there it might be gone.

I got on on Amazon and it is called Ultra Clear, 1/4" Tempered Fire Glass in Diamond Starlight | 10 Pound Jar, by Celestial Fire Glass this is the clear but you can get different colors. But I usually just spray paint small quantities when I need it. Here is the link amzn.to/4bDkt6P
What spray paints do you use to give it it's sparkle or one that you mentioned here in your video? I did buy your Alcohol ink that you recommend in your other video and have tried it, it's really good, but am looking for the spray as well
I love the tamiya spray paints they are usually about $10.00 but very concentrated. it is like $7.00 and $300 shipping My last bunny video that I put out yesterday you can see how bright and pretty the yellow and purple are. I usually buy just the translucent amzn.to/3uMFpaN

I got an old boat windshield from my husband once and it turned out to be a pretty light blue I was surprised.

Well isn't the fire glass just like tempered glass? I had a boat windshield that I broke up but ended up tumbling it.

Is there a video on how you colour your crushed glass
I need to make one just on coloring but I do have one talking about the different ways tocolor and complications. So kind of here it isth-cam.com/video/XLFGzqaRDi0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kS2aI6Y8Warg-R7L
Do you have a video that would show how to crush your own glass for small size such as these you can buy and tumble smooth?
No, I don’t really crush any of my own glass. I break up glass, to make faux sea glass and nip glass to make flower petals but the crushed glass like that size and smaller is like the chunky glass from Michael’s and they have it on sale all the time. Thanks, Linda. The Hobby Lobby I go to (2 hr away) no longer has the stained glass isle😢
really i wonder why?
@@crazyglasslady there was no one on the floor that day for me to ask 🤦♀️
And Michaels only had 2 colors of bagged glass. Not on sale yet
So whenever you’re going to Michael’s, what you should do is go online and it will show you if they have glass at that store or not and what glass they have in and if they have in what you’re interested in, you can buy it online to be picked up in that store then they will get it and save it for you because you never know in two hours.
