    Do the plants need a vegetation break or can you grow them the whole year indoors at ~ 22 °C at a bright window? In the winter it gets a bit darker(Germany). Thinking about a small indoor Pond with a Lotus. And i had some struggels with transplanting 1 year old Plants, most of them died, do you have some advices?

      It will only flower if you grow it in a large size tub{atleast 2 feet in height and 3-4 feet in diameter} with 3/4th of it with clay and 1/4th water. Mine flowered in 1year

    Thank you so much! I just ordered some “bonsai lotus” seeds online. I am not sure if there is a difference between these and the ones you planted, but is it possible to grow them only in water? Some sellers online have been advertising that no soil is needed, only water, while others do say to plant in soil like you did. Thank you again!

    • @seiyuokamihimura5082
      @seiyuokamihimura5082 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      There is no such thing as bonsai seeds. Bonsai is a technique to keep a plant or tree small. If you plant a bonsai in the ground, they will grow to regular size in time. Bonsai arent usually dwarf forms of things. However dwarf plants make good bonsai specimens. Same concept. If it was "dwarf seeds" maybe. But not all dwarf plants come true from seeds, so only cloning works for some dwarf varieties of plants. Hope this helped.

    Sir..I am a beginner for aquatic gardening.I brought a 3feet width cement container for lotus.if I keep that in full sunlight, water will become hot.is it not affect the plant growth?

      Keep the pot in a location where it can get moring sun from 7am to 1pm after that some shade ....lotus n water lilly loves full sun ....if they are kept in a shady area ...they will never bloom

      @@urbangardeningofficial Hello again. I have planted the tubers are instructed but they aren't growing very fast. Most leaves have rotted even the small amount of emerging ones. They are in full sun and top up the water daily. Also, I cannot find any clay anywhere close to home. I can drive to a creek quite a distance from home. Will clumping/non-clumping kitty litter do? I did get soil out of a local creek with no clay in it and weighted down the tubers with small gravel. Could this soil be killing them? Thanks.
