The only way Rashford not performing will destroy this club is if they let the current players affect Amorim's future, which I don't think will happen. Rashford stepping up and being the player we know he can be would be brilliant. And I mean that from a playing and an attitude standpoint. But if he doesn't they will move him on. Probably for less then we all will be happy with. But it will be next man up. Whether that is someone from outside or someone from inside. As a United fan i want Rashford to be the greatest United player ive ever seen, i want him to thrive, hes one of our own, hes been with the club since a boy, He represents everything Sir Matt Busby built this club on young local lads being physically improved to go out on the pitch and enjoy their football, and its been very clear for at least 18 months that ALL of the players have not been improved to go out on the pitch and enjoy their football. A lot of fan channels need Amorim to be successful just as much as Rashford does, they've all moved away from being fans to being critics and they make money off it but i believe theyd rather be fans and in awe of the football produced by united than moaning over and over about individuals. A well reasoned critique of the Rashford problem. I agree that the new manager give him a chance to redeem himself but Marcus better produce quickly. Maybe the right thing for both the club and Marcus is a new club, or anyway, out of United but it will have to be put to him that no one will pay the club or his wages unless he proves the critics wrong. That will no small task! If, as seems likely, he can't, or won't do that, he needs to be shunted right out of Old Trafford. Pay him his weekly wages, not a lump sum pay out. That'll be cheaper than the manager pay out and cost of bringing in yet another manager. The long term must be that player contracts are shorter and include some form of performance requirement. We cannot be held to ransom by players refusing to leave because no one else will pay their wages. Also putting him out on loan and covering part of his wage for his new club is ridiculous.
