Thank you for the video and walking thru each step. I’m a recently widowed and had an awesome husband who taught me a lot, but this video helped me thru the process of removing the deck, replacing the blades, and getting the deck back together. I had my doubts a few times, but finally got through it all. Mission accomplished!!

Thanks for this video. You made it look easy. I didn't have an impact wrench so I relied on a 1/2" drive socket attached to a 16" breaker bar with its handle tucked inside a 2 foot long 1 3/4” steel pipe for leverage, a few drops of penetrating oil, a massive wood block to stop the blades from turning and a brick wall to wedge the deck against so that it would stay put while I broke the nuts free. It wasn't easy but I was determined to get the new blades installed. One suggestion that I believe is visible but not obvious in the video, at the 12:44 mark (give or take) where you put the spring back in place, I wish it was easier to see or tell that the spring end is hidden, not exposed when it is reconnected. My first go had the end exposed and given how close everything is on the deck I had visions of the belt above getting shredded by the spring end, so I removed it, flipped it over and now it's hidden away where it can do no harm. My Owner's Manual lays out the steps for changing blades but it's on newsprint which makes it difficult to read and while the instructions include diagrams, well, they are very small making it hard to tell exactly what you are looking at. Your video solved those problems and made this job go rather smoothly, even for someone like myself who isn't particularly mechanically inclined. Thanks again!

Seeing him scrape that giant piece of sh!t off the bottom was pretty satisfying.

You made it look easy. I can do that in my mind. Hard for me to get down on the ground and next to impossible for me to get up. I need a man lift. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the informative content. I think I'm just going to set the mower on top of some 8x12 wood blocks I kept after a job. I just wanted to make sure it was the same old way to remove blades. I'll be checking out your other content to see what else I can use. Thanks again.

      @@SmallEngineDIY hi
What is the bit name you used to remove the blade bolt?
I’m struggling removing manually but I don’t have the power tool bit. I know the size is 15/16

today, I jacked up the rear end. I then used an air tool to remove the blade huts. 2 minutes.

Yep, I do that sometimes, but the mower deck was needing a good cleaning anyway.

nice video you do good work , one thing on the cub cadet that may save a few seconds and some knuckle skin , in reality only need to remove the 2 rear pins the 2 forward pins to the deck dont need removed they can stay on just pull the 2 rear and pull the lift bar off the deck done . as for the belt keeper it also dont need removed in fact it is designed to simply pull out of the hole opposite of the side you removed the bolt from simply pull the keeper out of the hole and it moves aside re insert after the belt is on save removing the belt keeper and the entire lift bar you can even place the lift back into the hole you removed the 2 rear pins from and then use the deck lift handle to completely move that out of the way making sliding the deck out easy .

Are they thicker? The CC blades are very thin and wear fast.

My blades were put on too tight at the factory. It took a 1,000 pound impact wrench to remove the blades.
