Loved your playthrough man, wish I was there for the Livestream at the end, what stands out most to me about the ending of FF8 is how the last few battles are equipped with one previously unheard epic tune after the other, just boom boom boom, 3 of my favourite songs in all ff.

One of the best playthroughs of this game i’ve seen. Especially since you remained relatively objective throughout it. FFVIII has its place amongst the greats. It just feels like it was written & storyboarded by people smokin’ DMT! 😆
On Rinoa + Squall parents. Laguna had a huge crush on the famous actress/singer Julia Heartlily and Julia is also shown to like Laguna a lot and the pair are seemingly on a romantic track then however Laguna goes on a mission far away and meet's Raine Loire and her adopted daughter Ellone while on it. The three then spend a lot of time together and eventually Laguna falls for Raine and the two get's married and eventually Raine get's pregnant with Squall shortly after Laguna get's stuck with his job as a president and eventually the village Raine, Ellone and Squall lived at is attacked and Raine is killed while Ellone and Squall are taken to Edea's orphanage. Julia Heartlily on the other hand seemingly moves on with her life though sad about not seeing Laguna again she eventually marries Fury Caraway but she dies shortly after giving birth to Rinoa Caraway. Rinoa then eventually adopts the name Rinoa Heartlily in honor of her mother and to distance herself from her father.
That theory was denied by Kitase years later in interviews as being something they had never considered and would likely not put into the story even if they remade it.
