    I went years with poor lighting in my shop. One day I got tired of it and ordered a bunch of $35 led shop lights thinking it would be overkill. But now that I've had them installed for a while I'm not sure how I used to work without them. I went with many smaller lights to reduce the chances of my shadow getting in the way. I highly recommend the upgrade!

    Dear Mr. Grease, Lighting is very
    important to Us elderly. LED is also
    the way to go. We did not "hard wire"
    the lights for ease of replacement
    "IF" one of them fails. You Sir are a
    WEALTH of knowledge. Just another
    day of work for You. I would need
    serious supervision to undertake
    the "jobs" You conceder every day
    "chores". Thank You.
    Sincerely, Kathleen.

      Kathleen NAWALT Yeah, I wired these with 110 plugs for ease of replacement. Thanks for watching and have a good evening.

      +western truck and tractor repair at 16.55 you took the "Soul of the trans." out of your pocket and put it back in. LoL ( just like a movie, it looks a lot like a light)

    Best deal I found on LED lights were from Costco. They also have a plug on the end so you can easily daisy chain them together. Got a few years on mine so far and zero failures. I think they were around $20 a light at the time.

    Harbor Freight has sales on 4-ft LED-tube strip hanging shop-lights.
    A friend lights his shop with 8-ft poles with a base that have LED shop-lights vertically from the top the pole on three sides...instead of hanging them from the ceiling... so he can move the around. The multiple tubes help kill the shadows and since the lights are lower they throw light under things instead of deep shadows.

    One thing I almost got burnt on is them lip seals. When they rip or pieces go missing they often end up in oil passageways and once I found a piece in a spring check ball. Imagine what that can do to pressures when there’s a small piece of lip seal holding a pressure ball open.
    So where is the valve body for this transmission located?

    Questions, excellent work you are very meticulous. From a automotive mechanic that has rebuilt automatic transmission, does this kind of damage come from pulling to big of a load or trying to pull to fast ( plows, discs etc.). Do you see more of this damage from tracked machines or wheeled machines? I am currently getting ready to move south and am looking to build a business working on heavy equipment and have throughly enjoyed your video very informative and great job.

      Most of this is from normal wear. They have a life expectancy like an automatic transmission. Sometimes you will get someone who pulls an implement with a tractor with closed center hydraulics and the implement has open center and the oil gets so hot that it bakes all the seals , or they pull a beater or roto tiller that is pto driven that vibrates and cracks clutch drums. And all depends on how they are used.

    should you lube those sealing rings?

    I searched tractor data. But can't find the difference in a 8320T and a 8320RT. Anyone? Warren may not read these old comments. One last but unrelated question. Is today's engine horsepower rated before or after the emission control devices are added? Thanks in advance..

      mrih1586 The Rt is about 15 years newer, depends exactly what year it is , early ones were tier 3 Egr motors, later ones were tier 4 with dpf filters.

    Question, i bought a 95 8300 last year. Do you need to clutch while putting the tractor in gear? Is it hard on them to use the clutch? Obviously come to a stop before reversing or putting in park. Thanks!

    • @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353
      @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Monhaut Holsteins No , the clutch is just an inching pedal for backing up to an implement. There really isn't a clutch , when you push the clutch pedal down it operates a dump valve that takes oil away from your clutch packs. Just start the tractor and put it in gear, won't hurt it, there is clutch modulation coils and associated valves that will modulate clutch apply pressure so it won't slam in gear. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.

      grease monkey101 ok makes sense, what if it gets left in two high of a gear will it not allow it to start moving? This 95 shifts a little bit jerky. I had a problem with tractor not moving but it would go in gear on the corner post display, if i turn fwd on auto it will always move or if you rev up the motor. We had calibrated the tranny and it passed....i am assuming the mfwd clutch needs rebuilt? Am i on the right track on that one?

    • @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353
      @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Monhaut Holsteins Usually the default ( which you can change) from park to forward starts out in 7th , I think you can bump up to 10th and that's the highest it let you start in, I know 8420 will, not sure if 8300 is programmed the same. The mowed pack should spring applied and hydraulically released. So when you have it off there there is pressure on the pack , and when on no pressure. I would check system pressure on and off.

    Hey Warren I got a 8420t with Ab brake with a 9 psi drop on lube pressure to . But when put the clutch peda down l at 30 psi it drops to 20 psi it should be at zero? Right? Love the video any information would be grateful

    • @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353
      @westerntruckandtractorrepa1353  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like you have 2 problems. I am pretty sure that clutch dump valve should dump to zero. Check the linkage and cable, most of the time they get out of adjustment and it won't fully stroke the clutch Valve.
